  1. Flipping hell mate - you have only had that fine Zed for five minutes...…. …...However metal is replaceable, flesh and blood is not, necessarily, so. It could have been much worse, so I echo everyone else's thoughts - it's always best to walk away with just a wee dent in your car and your pride, than not to walk away at all. Onwards and upwards mate - get yourself another and move on. You lived to fight another day...:clover:
  2. Nice read - and dead right about Toyota having to go back to the drawing board to ensure the Mk4 Supra was so good..... ….. And one of the many UK journals not to rate the 3000gt. Nice though it could be (in Mk2 variant, anyway), it just could not compare with the Zed or Supra back in the day. That said, I could consider a nice, low mileage UK spec Mk2 3000gt nowadays. Not forsaking the Zed though - not a chance....
  3. Nice one Luke - staying power.....
  4. Never mind, we'll have to drive slowly in formation, for some great action shots.....
  5. Can it keep up with our Zeds, though Joel....
  6. That is one awesome shine there Joel.....:cool:
  7. How about a couple more....
  8. Cheers JP - you beat me to it..... …..But what the hell - posting them twice is fine with me.... I still have a few minor details to fix - the engine bay is thick with dust and residue of paint polishing. The tail pipes need polishing as they feel rough with the overspray, but they are just little niggles I can sort now it's home:thumbup:
  9. Posted some on FB - and still working on it here...…
  10. Today nothing - I was at work - but yesterday, quite a lot..... Gave the interior a thorough clean, to remove the workshop dust etc. Treated the leather with Gliptone conditioner Fitted my new Kenwood nav/Bluetooth/DAB head unit Fitted the new over-mats courtesy of the RAC Gave the exterior a wash, ready for sealing and waxing next week And just to prove it did happen - some pictures.... It's good to have the Zed back.... Edit - at least I would - if the fooking pics would upload...…
  11. Cheers Andrew - and yes sir, lesson duly learned.... Can do - and I'll probably sort the wheels next weekend. Julia's friend's husband is a mobile tyre fitter, so I'll try and get him round to do it...
  12. Well, I have something Zed-related to post at last..... I finally collected mine from Dasstech and brought it home safely!! And I enjoyed every minute spent, getting reacquainted with the car on the 150-mile drive back from Leek.... It's taken a while - and there was one little miss-hap when I attempted the same trip two weeks ago - but Zeddy is finally home:clap: Darren has done a great job; removing old rusty sills, among other bits, welding in new panels, respraying the whole car in lovely fresh TK3 and giving it a proper under-seal. Whilst up there, he also replaced the old, dirty and cracked injector plugs, alternator, battery, front discs and pads; and freed up the sticky rear calipers. Oh, and gave it a service and got the MOT done.... I have to report, the car was running (and stopping) like a dream all the way home. Thanks Darren - great work mate.....:clover: Tomorrow, I plan to give the interior a thorough clean to remove the last traces of "bodyshop" dust and grime - and, whether permitting, a nice bath with Zymol shampoo...
  13. Many happy returns Gary - hope you have a fantastic day mate.....:happybday: Richard & Julia....
  14. Happy birthday Jeff old chap; hope you have a great day matey....:happybday: Richard:cool:
  15. I haven't asked Julia yet - but as we enjoyed this year's (even without the Zed) I shall register my interest now.... 1. Craig - 3 nights Friday to Monday 2. Joel - 3 nights Friday to Monday 3. t.mogsy - 1 night (kings head hotel) Saturday to Sunday 4. Devvny - Most likely 1 night (at Kings head) Saturday/Sunday 5. RichardS - 2 nights for two people; Saturday and Sunday please..... …...I shall confirm once Julia has secured the Saturday off work. I'm not driving up in the middle of the day again  Best to leave home at 6am on Saturday
  16. Conti Sport Contact always score highly in tests - and rightly so, they are great tyres!! I have Sport Contact 5s on my AMG as OEM fitment and would not use anything else on it. I have previously had them on the Zed too and they were equally as good there too. I have always used Contis, Goodyears or Michelin Pilot Sport on my Zed; however this time I (reluctantly) tried a set of Avon ZZ5s on it - and was pleasantly surprised with the result! Grip and handling are pretty much as good as with the top three, in both dry and wet. Plus they have a ring if "Zs" around the outer edge, which swung it for me. Not to mention they cost a lot less than the Contis did. I would never advocate skimping on tyres - and would otherwise have written off the Avons after a bad experience of the old ZZ3. But I can wholeheartedly recommend the ZZ5 and will definitely buy them again for the Zed.
  17. One for our Scottish members - Happy St Andrew's Day folks...….
  18. Yup - I have discovered that from bitter experience.....
  19. Hi and welcome to the club mate!! That is indeed a nice looking Zed - and in the right colour of course... Good luck with your new toy - and I echo Si's comment re the side skirts. Don't... The car looks just fine without; and adding them may only accelerate the old tin worm attacking your pride and joy! Richard:cool:
  20. You'll find plenty of potential buyers on here - even though you're based in Cyprus - providing you can ship it to the UK undamaged.... …..However you'll have to subscribe if you do want to advertise it...
  21. I agree.... ….And I bought just the coupling from Z1 a couple of years ago. I could not believe the price, delivered to the UK, either - a veritable bargain....
  22. Nice idea (for J-spec owners of course) and they'll look great at shows....
  23. Many happy returns Ant....:happybday: Plates are looking good too mate...
  24. You are very welcome Dave; thanks for your endorsement of our club!!
