  1. It goes back the exact position as it was before, that's why "old zed" said to mark the CAS lug holes where the bolts pop through before removal of the CAS. Timing can be played round with after she's running, if need be, which in this case is doubtfull considering the tinkering/repairing it had a few weeks ago. smithy
  2. :slap::headvswal Dilussional with old age! smithy
  3. Aye Jeff has a reliable and good priced recovery man collect his Zeds for him, would have been the one who collected marcus's car, so just ring zedworld and ask for a price. smithy
  4. Always sold the 1.2mm gaskets mate. the 1.4mm is too thick really for what yer doing. smithy
  5. KAD 6 pot with 355mm 2 piece discs. stock rebuilt rears with DBA Gold series discs. smithy
  6. When re fitting an engine for the 1st time you should always fit new mounts as a matter of course. The originals are on average 15 years old plus and she's a heavy ole engine. So replace the other side regardless of condition, if it's the original just do it. Point being, if your still suffering a bad Vibe after this engine is re done and you changed the other mount, fitting an uprated or solid mount later ain't gonna cure it, cos it means your problem lies elsewhere! smithy
  7. If the vibration is from the engine, then the new OEM mount will more than do the job! Uprated/Solid mounts were initially designed for the BIG serious BHP Zeds, taking of with such force has been knowm to rip an OEM mount. Unless you win the lottery, you'll never have that kinda power. OEM mounts are used on all manner of different powered Zeds and will last years if fitted correctly, my own Z is 475lb of torque and has no vibration with OEM mounts. P.S, If you fitted solid ones, you deffo wouldn't like it! smithy
  8. No. 1 yes that's okay and most tend to go the aluminum one. No. 2 the ECU, personally your better off getting that sorted here via DTA, John dixon or AndyP. No.3 yes that is also okay No.4 okay also. US spec cars are pretty much Jap spec, so no issues with parts "generally" smithy
  9. I ain't disputing you got em fella and if you got em at that price last year when they were even dearer you done well, very well. Mt attitude was perfectly normal and i spoke with the same guy i've used before, so no probs there. I had him double check for me on both price and listing for the rears and he confirmed what i posted above. I also have both versions of their catalogues with example pricing, so in short you personally have been exceptionally lucky and looked after price wise on these, so good luck to yer  I have made it my business for obvious reasons for the past 8 years to know brake pricing and who's the cheapest etc, hence my checking ;) P.S does your invoice show any kind of discount for you ? just at almost a 3rd off you done well.. cheers smithy
  10. I read this and thought oh my god, Demon tweeks never sell products under the MRRP, so i rang em. Your info is absolutely spot on and if anyone owns a Z31 your in luck! however the Z32 are in fact £126 plus VAT and delivery and they do NOT list the rears. Just in case someone got excited at the price, cos Dan's price is deffo the cheapest i've ever seen ;) smithy
  11. Yep, lol Just done a quick look around MRRP is £160ish with most companies selling them for £145 and just 1 company close to dannys price, but it wern't cheaper! GTR 33/34 ones tend to be cheaper though for anyone with Brembo calipers. smithy
  12. That is bloody cheap too bud, anyone thinking of buying these best take em now cos i've never seen them that cheap, ever! smithy
  13. No ones disputing that fella, just pointing out the downside of such a good pad are price, dust, squeel and pad life. AP themselves who often have the DS2500 in their big brake kits will admit the same. However for lesser money you can possibly have less side effects and if compatible discs, be "almost" as good. ;) In that price bracket though,(125 quid-ish) the project Mu is even better still and i've not seen these being minced in literally hours on a track like i have ferrodos! smithy
  14. As said numerous times, it's often the pad/disc combination that can either enable a particular pad to perform at it's best or not. By far the dustiest pad i've used and still do is the Ferrodo DS2500, it also squeels like a pig when hot and that is recorded on many forums, it does however perform very very well and for the price it should. The porterfeild being around 40 quid cheaper is not IMO as noisy or dusty but performs very well, though not quite as good as the Ferrodo BUT going for the porterfield which costs 25 quid more than the R4-s ( THE R4) and it certainly matches it, just very few use it due to limted suppliers. smithy
  15. You'll never sell "odd" spare bearings. What you do is tell Z1 to send everything except the bearings, once the block is stripped and you know the codes, tell z1 right away, they don't weigh a ton, fit in a small box so shipping is not expensive, you should have em within 8 days from order, 3 days if you courier them. Your builder wil have plenty to keep him going until they arrive. Z1 stock pretty much every grade going, so most peeps happily pay an extra 20 quid or so shipping a small box over when it's needed. This way theres no hassle in having the correct product or being left to sell summit that is only of half use to someone! IMO and having sold around 10 of those rebuild kits ;) . smithy
  16. Really glad to see your woes seem to have come to an end mate ;) and more importantly a happy end too. I assume after the condition the car was in Zedworld pulled the stops out in getting things done so quick and the final bill was not to be :D at ? Cheers smithy
  17. Injector wise not really, however if you fit new 300 degree fuel rails as on my site, you can fit 740's and 850's if you like, the bigger flow injectors are also cheaper to buy than the early 555's and if you go with the new fuel rails, you'll eliminate the problem pre 94 zeds had of lack of fuel to no.6 piston, (usually only found when chasing bigger power) As for cam gears, deffo nowt cheap am aware of, only well known brands such as Jun and around 250 quid a pair. smithy

As stated nope, links with plenty of info on plugs and from NGK, be sure to spot the C's and the B's. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=859825&postcount=4 smithy
  19. Absolutely none, both mike smith and AMS are cast, so no cracking issues. smithy
  20. No probs mate, thanks for responding anyways. So a nice kind Zed family with a spare room and happy of a few quid for 10 weeks is my best bet then, oh and she likes her Zeds :) smithy
  21. Hoping someone here can help with this. My daughter aged 20 is heading over to the mainland June 6th for a 10 week beauty course near Covent garden in London. Anyone know of some cheap accommadation or better still anyone fancy letting out a spare room for these 10 weeks ? i'll be paying ( as usual) She's a tidy person and very helpful around the house, she'll be on her own and just needs somewhere to crash at night and revise. She will be looking for part time work for the weekends as well just to give her some cash of her own, she's done bar/club work if anyone has ideas, or any type of work really. Any help or guidance, would be very grateful. cheers smithy
  22. A simple search of the word "MANIFOLDS" and hey presto in under 2 seconds we have http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=107057&referrerid=119 smithy
  23. Hi mate, the actual switches i ordered some time ago, the passenger side one is now in and has been for some time, the drivers side however as of last week when i spoke with mike was still on back order but due literally any time. You can ask Mike in his traders section here MJP to see if your numbers are correct that you have. They certainly cheap though!! i didn't know about the adapter to use the old loom with the new plugs, so guess that's my next job! cheers smithy
  24. Ah 11c's that explains it, me and legrath asked you about the 11b's, no probs confusion over. smithy
  25. Danny's back late tonight and he'll take care of yer mate :) cheers smithy
