  1. Geez yer must be forgetting what you've asked previously mate...... Andy's reply is in there too! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=116888&referrerid=119 cheers smithy
  2. I think it is actually a fair bit of messing about to fit the discs mate, something to do with the handbrake set up. Have only ever known 1 zed on here with that set up and pretty certain it's AndyP. Do a search and am fairly sure he sowed us all pics and explained what he had to do ;) HTH Smithy
  3. You can fit 350Z REAR discs and calipers to the Zeds rear with some fabricating. But don't see how it's possible to fit 350Z front discs to the rear of a Zed. Oh assuming you mean the ones with Brembo calipers... Smithy
  4. Nice work Stu, JD certainly knows his stuff when it comes to mapping a Zed. Am sure the new owner is bloody well pleased and you to, to see such good figures ;) Which dyno place did John use for yours mate? Cheers smithy
  5. Think i'd be getting a 2nd opinion once you've sorted the boost leaks, timing etc out mate before going to the hassle of fitting turbo's. Doing it yourself or not.... Smithy
  6. Well mate you've got some list there, however unless the engines various other elements are bob on, any diagnosis is gonna be clouded. First off you must find all and any boost leaks, with these cured i woudl expect to see less smoking being done. 2nd has gota be check the timing, TPS and Throttle balance and ideally get it on a conzult. Then once you know these things are as they should, only then can you assess that interanlly things have gone tits up. If you had ALL of the above, the car would run pretty shit to be honest. Cure your boost leaks and take the long drive to Zedworld, they are shit hot on setting a Zed up as it should be and they can look at what else maybe wrong for you. I think this service is still free there at the moment, so it's only your time and petrol to pay :) Smithy
  7. http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzk.html ;) smithy
  8. Think i was of the 1st to get mine done by them some years ago. I was very happy with both the service and end job done too ;) It was rears i had done and the baked on paint is still as good now as it was about 4 years ago. A few others here have had fronts and rears done and seem happy enough. HTH Smithy
  9. Looking wicked mate :) get some wheels on there and she'll be soooo sexy. Check this one out from across the pond http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=2240656&forum=general&dtSearch=22 Laterz smithy
  10. Well just a fraction over your budget and maaybe a bit further to travel :) http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzz.html But they have probably done more conversions than any other garage that works on Zeds, it's fully warranted work and with no cutting corners as some examples we've seen before from cheaper jobs. cheers smithy
  11. Really good to see mate :) Has to be said, that whilst there are companies capable of doing rebuilds out there, fitting the engine back in correctly and definately setting it up as it should be, is a lot more involved than some think. I think many owners are somewhat suprised when Jeff and Jamie call them over to show them some of the niggly but important things that are often overlooked as regards the correct running or settings ;) It's always nice to see the "wow what a difference now" :D Cheers Smithy
  12. When you took them out, what did you put in their place bud? smithy
  13. Yep after a few cambelt swaps and twice replacing all seals, finally found it, dohh To find it we started the engine with the covers off and held a piece of paper above each sprocket, as the pulley spun round it sprayed oil on the paper. Sprocket replaced and jobs a goodun :) smithy
  14. Sure if yer half decent with a spanner and many have done it themselves too. Because of this, pretty much any decent garage can do the job as well. I've not personally known anyone to pay a garage more than 230 quid though and have seen some here pay as low as 150 for cash! smithy
  15. Hi mate, are you the Daz that used to work on Steve Ellerby's Zed ? Oh and welcome back either way ;) cheers smithy
  16. Just before you go adjusting things though mate. Have a real god look round at all yer vac lines and other various pipes and check for the any loose clips or splits. It could actually be a boost leak as that cause stalling and often low revs and would also tie in with your other problem you had :) Cheers smithy
  17. Looks fantastic bud, absolutely :smash: Think mine is due in there any time now and can't wait. The thought of having a proper paint job done for once, by a decent paint shop lol Seen some really nice jobs from those guys! Well done on the colour choice, hmm do i stick with my chosen one or change my mind, theres still time :p cheers smithy
  18. Going to Zedworld is by the easiest and reliable option mate, however should you decide to do this your self, the advert on ebay at £659.99 from supracarparts ebayer is a very well respected suplier. He used to trade on here and knows his Zeds as he was a fellow zedder. Dealt with him for years mate and he's one of the gooduns  cheers smithy
  19. Yeah I know his are good too, most of the companies over there now have all the Jap/UK/European sizes to work off, dohhh smithy
  20. Thats it in a nutshell! Cos 2+2's were only N/A's when sold in the US, I asked for a TT 2+2 shaft and got this :D Likes of Z1 have all the measurements for all various types of shafts so should have went there. It's been sat in my garage for over a year before i even attempted to fit it and that was last year, yikes so no point but i guess i should try! Anyway, would this fit if someone fitted an N/A box in a TT ? or is that a daft question, lol Or how about would it fit an N/A and only use the 4 bolt holes as needed ? or even better :D it looks like the flange is in place with circlips ? could i just have them send me a flange for an N/A and swap them over and sell it to an N/A owner ? Might have gathered, not my specialst area, lol cheers smithy
  21. Here yer go mate, i know the pic ain't clear on the flange just yet, but it has got 6 holes in the flange. These were the pics i sent the suppiler. Oh and total end to end length is approx 53ins Cheers smithy
  22. Cool ;) what i'll do is post up up a pic and you can see what yer think i got. But i ordered a TT 2+2 prop and cos the US 2+2's are N/A's the company done it as an N/A length but with a TT flange on it! Hence when i came to fit it on my TT 2+2 it was the wrong length, dohh Too much hassle to send back. Wozzer will see what i paid for it, but if suitable i reckon about 100 quid plus postage ? See what you think or what silverbullit says when i post the pic eh? cheers smithy
  23. Good job and well done! If anyone is else is fitting an N/A diff to a TT. I got a 1 piece prop shaft in ally from the states for a TT but was made for an N/A length and has the bolt holes for a TT  Just wap it on :D Smithy
  24. Yeah stop giving us the answers again in advance and show us the worse and see if we spot whats wrong :D Oh well clearly 7K don't get you much these days!!! cheers Smithy
