  1. Whats an Ignition??
  2. I have Not tried this in Hold Position but i will when i have the Engine Back in Unless you have tried this before?? Which should eliminate the Kickdown process and keep it in Overdrive once above 40-50 mph
  3. I had exactly the same problem! Tps voltages ok! I even stripped it down to check all the connections inside! all fine! changed oil in box and cleaned gauze. Never did sort it but mine used to jump from 4th(overdrive) back to 3rd(top gear) when i booted the gas at 130+ and red line every time?? take your foot off the gas and it goes back into 4th  still got engine out at mo so i have yet to sort this :o My Box is reconditioned too??! Its from what i can see still attempting to Kickdown when over 130mph which it should not and its not the speed sensor or revolution sensor as they were replaced when the box was out so i can only think its a problem with the Line pressure or AT control unit.or another internal problem (Makes me want a Manual at this time!!)
  4. Solid Anti Roll bar's are a great upgrade!!
  5. A standard size Light Alloy pulley would be a Better idea as you have pointed out! ;)

I will be on the road soon!!! Horray!! just waiting for Turbos!!! Under all that is a lovely Blue block which you can't now see :D
  7. That floating bridge is a pain in the A**e i have been over 20 odd times and only took my 3rd gen Transam (i used to own) over the floating bridge once and that was not that low! I would not like to take the Zed over that birdge! I would rather use it as a foot passenger! ;) The roads are not too bad over there! mind you i only stick to the main roads! Always plenty of road works  but you get that here as well! Its just that the main roads can be alot smaller over there! Ferry crossing is expensive so i would not ever live there as it would be too expensive to commute to the main land! I cant go to this meet although i would like too! As i am waiting a few weeks for some turbos from a forum member who has kindly let me have his in exchange for a few £££ as he is upgrading to Greddy 18g's :headvswal ! I wish i could too! :D
  8. Just tighten it Mate all the underdrive pulley's do this as there is less driven area for the belts! Get a tape measure and measure round the driven area of the pulley and you see that the area is quite alot less so the belts tend to squeel alot easier and will need to be tightened more than before when you were using the stock pulley! Just try not to overtighten them ;)

I would not worry about showing it at any meets prior to having the Tailgate sprayed! we all having things that may need doing to our cars to make them perfect! :p Just come to a meet anyway!

  12. DO a compression test first then if thats ok! Check you are getting a spark to the Cylinder as well! (Could be) a Leaky injector thats dripping fuel in the cylinder when the engine is not running or no spark to the cylinder.
  13. I'd say Ford and Vauxhall having owned both in the past and forever having to repair them and other peoples! (Greg you missed out Skoda and Lada) :D
  14. Another more recient one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KYOSHO-NISSAN-FAIRLADY-Z-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO-CZ32-1-43_W0QQitemZ250030177739QQihZ015QQcategoryZ45357QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem And its RED :D
  15. Ask Mac1 i think me may have used one of these ;)
  16. But remember like all Sports Cars when they become a certain age (20 years) onwards they start to increase in value every year as a Classic sports car! And these cars are carrying the Z badge which means alot ;) Eg: I used to own a 1979 240k Skyline 15 years ago and was in very good condition but was worth peanuts back then! but now in good condition they are worth loads and there value will keep on increasing ;)
  17. Yes Mate! Start with removing the connectors and cleaning the pins on the male and female connectors! Just be carefull not to bend or damage the male connector pins . They will probably be slightly corroded;)
  18. Back of the Plenum near the battery! two connectors one yellow for the A/c increase and one grey connector this is the one you want to check
  19. Idle solenoid! either a bad connection or soleniod/unit needs a clean
  20. Also did you manage to strip down the oil pump to find out what was causing the noise?? I have stripped two down this week too only to notice just like Greg said that the alloy back plate seems to wear alot even on low mileage pumps! It looks like they are able to pick up any dirt from the sump as they only have a strainer to block large deposits but not fine material from damaging the pump! The Pump then sends oil through the Oil filter!:( It maybe a good idea to do an engine oil flush every now and then to make sure all the crap is removed from the Engine and Sump.
  21. Mate i have a standard TT crank here off my old block if you want to come over one day and compare them ;)
  22. The seals are on the piston inside the alloy part of the master cylinder,Unless the housing has a hairline crack in it.
  23. Some interesting Parts ;)
  24. Yes! and its an MOT failier too:cool:
