TPS Fault
Well in case no-one has ever seen the Inside view of a Thottle Position Sensor here are some pics  I have found that the Potentiometer Main Track was worn causing a High Resistance, causing the voltage output to be over half the required output  With a little help from (Andyduff) we both managed to work out this fault using our Meters and various tests. Thanks for your Time and Help Andy :) It seems that these tracks will wear with Useage and Age and cause low voltage signal output to the Ecu.

shes a bit lumpy
Could be a Dodgy Crank Angle Sensor! I had one of these go 2 years ago and it baffled me!! I had tried everything and had alot of help From Jeff TT and even he was baffled. It didnt even show on the Consult  Changed Cas and it was like New again. Had exactly the same probs as you! See if you can borrow one to try! or buy a spare anyway. Mowgs has one for £40 if you need one.

TPS Fault
Has anyone else tested the Resistance on a Throttle Position Sensor? Across The White to black wire which should vary from 1k to 9k while rotating inner and Red to black wire which should read 9k ish from TT net?? can anyone confirm this? I get 22k from Red to black wire's hence i think i am only geting half WOT voltage output. I need to rule out whether its the TPS or not before i buy a new one! If some one can Test the Resistances on a good TPS it would help me rule it out ;) How many people have had less than 2 volts from the TPS connector centre(white wire) I bet most are over 3.6 volts??

TPS Fault
I dont know anyone who may have a spare! I was thinking the track inside maybe worn?

TPS Fault
I have done this twice. No luck! The tps resistances seem to be out as well when comparing to this article http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=960871 I have 21k from c to d terminals instead of 9 k and 0.3 k to 9.5k from c and e terminals

TPS Fault
My TPS is only reading 0.23 volts at idle and 1.89volts at WOT. If i adjust the TPS to 0.42 volts idle, at WOT it still only reads 1.93 volts  Gearbox diag is giving me a code 3 (Tps) Engine idle fine 800rpm and nice steady pickup when touching gas pedal. I still believe the TPS is faulty as i cant even get it to read over 2 volts at WOT even after cleaning all the connectors and checking/testing wiring. Any idea's other than a replacement?

Auto & Manual Turbos
Hi I know that Auto's 300zx have different Turbo's fitted to them and have a quicker spool up when compared to Manual Turbo's due to a different a/r to compensate for the Automatic gearbox but where do you stand when upgrading to aftermarket turbos as you can't get aftermarket Turbo's designed for either manual or Auto? If you fit say Greddy 18g's for example will there be a noticeable lag on an Auto when compared to fitting them on a Manual 300zx?
