  5. Hello, Have a problem with High idle  Have conducted a search and found a few topics but nothing that can assist me. My engine idle's at approx 14-1500 when warm. :mac1: If i disconnect the Yellow Idle valve there is no change in rpm, if i operate the Aircon as usual the Rpm increase's. I have checked tps setting and this was setup on a conzult last. the voltage at idle is 0.42 volts.if i disconnect grey tps connector there is a slight rise in Rpm then it drops back to 1500 rpm. I have tried to perform a basic idle adjustment with idle valve yellow connector disconnected and i have no decrease only an increase in rpm. All connectors are clean and corrosion free. I have no vacuum leaks and i have reciently corrected a fault causing the Cont Engine Fuse to blow. this was down to an exposed Oxygen sensor heater wire. I can only think that the Variable idle valve is seized or jammed open. Idle is stable at approx 1500 rpm but under load drops to 800rpm ie: when in drive or reverse. Engine never stalls either. Any idea's?? other than putting it on a Conzult??before i pull whatever hair i have left out :nelson: :D
  6. Just like the Petition to change the Classic Car Tax Law :D
  7. I thought it was a Girl Hence HampshireBabe ???
  8. Thanks ;) i was hoping one was jammed shut :D
  9. Are the soleniods open (activated) with voltage present when Engine running or open with no voltage engine running ie if i disconnected the connectors would they be closed or open? Or maybe i should do the simple bypass?? Forgive the questions Andy as i have been ill this week and have not been able to do any tests! (nothing to do with beer either) so this is just tech info for when i do go out to fix this issue ;)

It just comes down to how much you are going to or be willing to spend and if you intend to Mod it:D Ask Kirbz about Engine Rebuilds ;) Do you have deep Pockets  :p
  16. The bottom end must have been checked though?
  17. It could be a number of things. Could be ring or Bore wear but also could still be Valves leaking or Headgasket even though it has been done reciently.
  18. Could be worse!! Could be a 60 year old bottom end  :D
  19. You do not normally have problems with those fuses ;)
  20. Yes i have to agree with this! Ride is a little harder but not too hard! Handling is superb and drop well my shocks and springs were naff anyway so i didnt notice much difference. At least my car can't be called a 4x4 anymore :D
