  1. Nor can i unless it had a leak under the ring! the block is ok
  2. The coolant seating part of the head near number 6 has erroded badly due to leakage
  3. If you line up the head gasket the sealing ring sits on some of the bigger pits:(
  4. And they have had one skim already by the previous owner when he had the head gasket go and piston ring breakup on number 2
  5. But my main concern is round the gasket sealing ring, i would guess at least 1mm deep and round and around 7 of them!
  6. The valve seats are fine! I have reground them today.. the pitting is in the combustion chamber near the valve seats but not on them! I have never heard of anyone welding the heads normally if a head is bad and cannot be skimmed any more.
  7. Hi has any one ever had a head pitted in and around the valve area and head gasket sealing ring area? These heads have been skimmed before.. Can the head be skimmed and still be within tolerances even though there are worm hole pitting! I have heard some people have had to have the valves seated further in??
  8. As above i have heard our VG30/DE/T/TT Engine was used in other Nissan's not just the Late 300zx and all Have the Same Block? Which one's were they? This would be handy to know when sourcing parts!
  9. Thanks for the link! :) I have most of the Part's coming from the USA
  10. 4 Bolts!! Two underneath and one at the front, one at the back and 1 of them is a pain in the A*s! (the Top Back one!!) :headvswal :)
  11. Worst of all i found alot of side play in the shaft in my Turbos as well :headvswal I am very lucky as i used to be a HGV mechanic so i can do all the work my self and save money but its still going to cost me loads of ££££ and i would hate to guess what some of you guy's have to pay for an Engine Rebuild and Turbo rebuild
  12. Yes it was number six! it get's the hotest out of them all! :headvswal I had a split turbo water feed pipe and a core plug rotted under the Timing cover
  13. More of the Damaged Engine and some of the Next Engine i have been building up to go in :) Notice on the Third picture i had an oil leak for a while and thought i may have been coming from behind the timing cover and i was right i found an incorrectly fitted cam oil seal
  14. More Picure's of my Engine following the Stripdown Today :)
  15. Mate do you have a Pic of the Solid Alloy Mounts?
  16. LOL Sorry i did not know it was your Patch!! :)
  17. Where was the Queer Running??? and he flashed you??:D
  18. Looks like i need to!!! That has gone too!
  19. I though my Mounts split due to the Engine throwing a Rod!(Its seems it threw a Rod due to overHeating as Number Six Piston has jammed in the Bore so the Small end gave up first leaving the Piston in the Cylinder Bore while the Crank continiued to throw the Rod around! ) but one mount was covered in oil so theres one reason but i thought it was odd that the other mount was in two halve's but now i know this seem's to be a common problem and do not really want to fit stock mounts in if they are going to keep seperating. I am not running stock power so this would put more strain on the Oem mounts. Before i spend out on New mounts i would like more input on the other mounts available and Pro's and Con's of fitting these! This would also be helpfull for new and current Members to help them decide as well. There do not seem to be many threads on Engine mounts as i have searched previously! Polls do tend to Help other Owners in Deciding :)
  20. You can change them with the Engine out or in. But it is alot easier with the engine Out as the Top Mount Bolts can be a Pain to get to due to the Usual(No room) You maybe ok if you have small hands unlike me! :( P.s That picture of Clarkson is scary
  21. I have just had a look at the poll and so far 28 owners have viewed and selected a type of mount from the list! Thanks for your time!:) that leaves over 130 left who have viewed the Thread but are not Using any Engine mounts so it seems??
