I know. Not owned on in years cos mine kept getting stolen. 2 from the garage, 1 from the town centre while it was chained up, 1 when my friend borrowed it, 1 from the shops. But many a time I had to get the durailia (sp) replaced. Had to get the front crank replaced on a few cos the teath worn out.

What do I need to make the lights on the corner on the front bumper the indicators. Thats where the Jap ones have it dont they? The reason I am asking is I want to move the indicators and side lights there and use the old indicator place to put some fog lights or something in. The stock lights are just too crap. Yup sound like the clutch. Do the thing that 300Z says. When the you say the car losed power let the revs rise up another 500 or 1000 revs then let go of the accelerator completley. The rev needle, instread of dropping a slowley with the engine, will suddenly drop revs and then slowley go down. I think I will try get a vid of what happens when the clutch slips. Stuart

Im feeling for you Timmy. I know how I felt with the past 2 months of relativily small niggles which are parts that you expect to wear. What you gonna do? You gonna cut your losses? :(

I can see Clarkey's point here. 4 wheel steer is different to the HICAS. Trucks and some cars have the 4 Wheel Steering. I know the saloon Mitsubishi Galant 4WD Turbo has it. It is turn wheel and the back turn the opposite way a little. The HICAS takes into account the speed you are traveling and either turns the same way, opposite way or doesnt move which standard 4WS doesnt. Stuart

I couldnt find any higher wattage lights. The ones I got are the 55w Bosh ones. They say they are 33% brighter. I really need some better lights. :(

You should get slighly more with Optimax than normal UL. How was you driving?

There is a difference. But I think most of it was the position of the lights. I have them shinining mostly up now. May fail its MOT but at least I can see slightly better. Funny cos I gave my friend a lift back in my car down some country roads with very few lights. he then realised how bad they where. :( Any idea about HID people? Will they make a difference? Any one got them installed? I was thinking about some fogs on it somewhere. I am the first to complain when I see people with fogs on when they shouldnt but I think we really need them. Stuart

Or my manual box has done over 155,000 miles and is still the original one. The clutch on it now, (Getting it changed on Wednesday :D) has done over 70,000 miles. Unfortunalty I think you just unlucky getting a Z with so many problems. I think Nissans are great. We also have a Bluebird and that runs sweetly starts every time and has very little rust and its a D reg. My Z has only needs a clutch and tyres really. Rad recon but that wasnt too much, and I have had my Z for over about 18 months and done 20,000 miles. Please dont call my car "built as a pile of shite".

I bought some of the high powered lights for mine. The ones that say they are 30% brighter cos I am desperate to get the lights to actually light something up. They cost me £9 I think each.

Typical faults? Rust, like most cars. Others? None that I can think off when you go look at one. The car can do a few diagnostics, ECU, HICAS, ABS and AUTO box to name a few. These can help greatly. Some one can post how to get thses working if you want. Dont know my self. There are some more but I cant think of any at the moment. Leaking T-Tops.! Theres one. Running costs. Here is a run down of what I have spent in the last 2 months on my Z Radiator Recon : £110 Track rod end: £61 Track rod end fitting and 4 wheel tracking : £36 2 front tyres : £148 New clutch : £377 Fly wheel Skim £70 Clutch Fitting £130 But I must say that this is the worst couple of months that I have ever had. Before then I have only had to spend money on petrol and and needed no major repairs. To be fair to my car too. These are not what I call repairs its maintance. The parts that have gone are things that will eventually go in time. Just so happen they all went close to eachother. MPG. Mines a series 1 and has them on. You can see it on the left under the intercooer intake. The other you cant see because of the black background. But I noticed them when I was doing my torsion bushes. The chanel air to the back of the brake discs.

To do it correctly you need lazer or radar system. The Z's speedo isnt that great and saying to your mate start and stop when you accelerate give you a rough idea but it is very rough. Stuart
