300ZX or MKIV Supra?
Did you know that was on of the requirments of the Z when it was being built. It had to be able to fit a set of golf clubs in the boot. :D Also while you are at Uni consider the jealous factor. I drive mine to Uni every now and then and costs me £2 a day to park. But you still get people doing this http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/srrae/door1.jpg http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/srrae/door2.jpg I have had 3 attempts at my car at Uni. The one pictured, one time they tried to get through my boot and I had to get a new spoiler, and one time they tried to steal my alloys. I was driving home wondering what was making the knocking noise. When I get him I looked and found that one of my alloys was only held on by 3 studs. Stuart

headlight bulbs again
I got the 30% brighter bulbs from Halfords a few months ago. They did make a difference and cost me £8.99 each. I got Halfords own 130W bulbs for £4.99 each yesterday, they are 10 times better. Hope they dont burn out. Stuart

High CO2 emissions....!
There is a tube you can pull out in the engine bay that solves all your problems. Remember to plug it back in when you finished though. Forget which tube it is, but I am sure some one will tell you. Stuart

Spam from forum members ?
Can I say in his defence that a year ago I set up a hotmail account just to transfer files from Uni to home. For when I dont have a disc and stuff. And considering I only sent to and from the same hotmail account, I.E. send emails to the same hotmail address, within 3 weeks I was getting porn and stuff. I now dont use it because I get so much junk mail coming through it. Stuart

Slick 50
I wouldnt put anything other than gear oil in the gear box. A while ago AY3388 brought up a good point of if, Slick 50 was so good, why dont they sell it to oil companies to put it in with thier oil from the can. Answer, the oil companies feel there is no need to do so. People just do an oil change every 3000 to 6000 miles. 6000 the max really. I do it every 4,000. Make sure you change the oil filter with it too and use some good oil, semi-synthetic or full synthetic. You may thing that its cost too much to do an oil change every 4000 miles or so, but its a hell of a lot cheaper than a new engine or engine rebulid. Stuart

Yay, after a little wait my clutch has arrived, good job because it is going in tomorrow morning to have it fitted. Nice RPS one, which was only a little more expensive than a stock one I was offered. Thanks Smithy, Here is a nice pic of it ;)

NZR - PC screen burn?
It may also be a sign of the Monitor is on its way out. My last monitor started of doing that in one corner, then the oposite corner went red, untill all the corners and sides where different colours and only a small area in the middle of the screen showed the correct colour. Stuart

Lampost 1 - MR2 0
Engines are designed to drop on inpact. I was in a very serious accident about 10 years ago in an Escort Convertable on the M1 motorway. We ended up hitting a coach. The engine accutally dropped and went back. So the engine ended up under the drivers and passengers feet. Worked perfectly. I wouldnt call that part of the MR2 a crumple zone. I dont believe that the design was to allow the impace to ge that far up. The only thing stopping the post splitting the car in 2 was the front structial member going across the front of the car. If that snapped, the car would have ended up a 1 seater. However the pressure on that part of the car because it was a small impact zone would have been huge, and shows how amazing the chassis really is.

300ZX or MKIV Supra?
Just seen your age. You sure you can afford the insurance? Or are you loaded? Cos you need to be to keep these cars on the road. ;)

300ZX or MKIV Supra?
Depends on who you ask. :D Supra guys will say supra we will say 300ZX. £6000 for a Z plus £3000 on the mod and it will easly out perform a Supra. As you said they are very simalar. I think the Supra has the slight edge on the ZX but the engine is more tuned. 500cc injectors I think over the Z 360cc. The turbos produce 12psi and the Z 9psi. Make the specs the same and I think the Z will out perform. One good thing about the Z now is if you get a good one 10 years old you can insure it on classic insurance. Also you have to go on what you think looks better. I personally dont like the Supra look, but some say the ZX look is dated and OTT. I dont think it is. Stuart

Harry Halfords rip off!
!PHEW! I was getting worried. Cos I looked at the spare bulb kits at halfords too and for the Z they said kit 5 but looking at it I could see that the head light bulb was wrong for starters. Anyway, my next job it to put Helix fogs in where my side lights are. That sould light up my way ;) Stuart

dilema
I was planning on getting a diesel run around before I had all the hastle with my clutch and other things. Not as bad as you though because I only do about 150 miles a week. There are other options for diesels. How about an Escort diesel going for about £500 to £1000, Metro 1.5 are supposed to be good and have a lower tax bracket. Some one bought a banger to run into the ground in our street as a inbetween car, 2 years on he is still driving it. It only cost him £300 and hes happy with it and not give him any trouble. My point really is, look round the private ads, cos there are cars on there going cheap which will do very nicely and will last a good few more years. Why not just get the Rover fixed? If its just the head gasket. I cant comment on the rest of the car, but if its just the gasket then get it fixed. If you are looking for a £1300 Corsa you may get one and it gives you nothing but trouble. Stuart

Harry Halfords rip off!
So what bulb is the right one? I had the ones with the wire coming out of the bottom because that is what I took out of the car when I got it. Stuart

Harry Halfords rip off!
Posting my findings with the 130W head lights. WOW! I can actually see the roas now. The road infront of me is lit up, lit up so much that I can actually see where I am going. Excelent!! I hope that they last. £4.99 for halford ones, the Bosch ones I got where £8.99 each. Stuart

Harry Halfords rip off!
I just went Halfords and bought some 130W for my car. I will see how much better they are. I am keeping my old 55W as spares cos I hear high wattage bulbs have a habbit of blowing.

Lampost 1 - MR2 0
Well you could say that Aaron but the reason it could have collapsed like thats is there is nothing behing that part of the car. Its empty. However if there was half of a tonne engine there, it would of hit it and stopped. Stuart
