  1. I know that too wide tyres cause tram-lining, but I wouldnt have thought it would happen with 235 and 265's though. I have heard the opposite when you go even further that the car struggles to stay in a straight line if you go even bigger. What accident damage was thier? Where was it hit and do you know what was replaced? Where these wheels on it when it happened do you know? Stuart
  2. Says the one who sold his rear end to Stuart. LOL ;)
  3. It felt weird when it was fixed. Because I was so used to having the wheel at an angle to drive straight when going round corners I would straighten up and hold to where the wheel used to be and nearly end up hitting the kerb. LOL Its real easy to get to too. Its near Sainsbury's, Morrisons and on the other side of Machine Mart. Stuart
  4. I was 22 when I answered the poll, I am now 23 as of a week or so ago. :( Stuart
  5. Here is the print out I got, cant remember if it was before or after the adjustments. My tyres where balding on the outside on the rears, took it there, and even though it was too late for my tyres, the rear wheels where 1º or so out which didnt help. It also made my steering wheel straight after another place did my tracking and who only undo one track rod end. http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/srrae/wheels.jpg The phone number is on there to phone them. You have to book cos it takes an hour or so. Shows they are doing it correctly. Just looked at the picture and the scan is before they did the tracking. After that all the numbers where within required values. Stuart
  6. I think the, "Ffffffssssshhhhhhhh!" Noise is the best. Or even "Kkkkkkssssssshhhhhhh!" or "Pkkkishhhh" Dont go for the "Honk!" ;)
  7. Not my car cos I live miles away. My cars is also red. My car is also UK. It also has quad pipes and not a single outlet. So I dont think it's me. ;) Bet you shit every one up with that flash. Every one in front of you thought they where caught by a speed camera or something. LOL ;) Stuart
  8. That is what happens when you get wider tyres, go too wide and you get tramming. :( I agree with Anders UK that get a full wheel alignment set up. National Tyres said that they do 4 wheel alignment but they just allign the rears with the fronts and not indipendent. I went to Thistlethwaites in Bolton who do independent 4 wheel alignment camber and caster check with lasers on a ramp. The way it is meant to be. Cost me over £25 but my car felt a lot better after it was done and well worth the money.
  9. I think that is thing that only few people will get. Hehehe, but good story anyway.

I have standard pads on mine and I suffered brake fade a few weeks ago. I was driving fast, legaly, down country roads where I brake from higher speeds 60ish. I wasnt braking hard but the constant braking from fast speeds, made the brakes heat up, obviously over the designed temperature of the pads. Just found what EBC say about Red Stuff EBC's semi metallic Redstuff formulation is an excellent compound for race and rally use with a medium lifetime and a friction level of approximately 0.4 stable up to 750oC. Redstuff is extremely kind to brake discs, can be used on or off highway and has been a particular success on 4 wheel drive road going vehicles such as the Impreza and Evo range and has also found great success on heavier BMW models such as M3/M5 and Audi range such as A4/A6. This is why I think the Z will be more suited for the Red Stuff, because they are in the same speed class and weight class as the cars listed.

I heard that, but you may have read me saying that on another page. :D I hear that the new red stuff pads called "RedStuff V2" now warm up quicker and so can be used for heavier or faster sports cars. One thing that goes against RedStuff or GreenStuff is the price. £70 a go for pads. I also hear that the GreenStuff pads even though better, dont last too long and for a Z will suffer brake fade on a track day :(. Hence why I think I hear they recomend RedStuff pads. Stuart
  12. I wouldnt trust the stock boost gauge though. Its just for show I think. My one started showing the correct boost but got worse and worse. I get 15psi now :D
  13. 1. That is a boost controler. It turns up the power of your turbos. Stock pressure is 9PSI or 0.6bar. (If you didnt know, more boost = more power :D) I suggest you keep it at that for now untill some one can get a look at your car and tell you if it has been modified correctly. You really needed a new ECU chip to run higher boost other wise you could cause serious damage to your car. I doubt that your car isnt chipped but better be safe. Dont turn you boost over 1.0bar anymore on than that will cause damage unless the turbos and intercoolers have been upgraded. Again you really need some one to look at it to tell you. The overtake boost button will increase the boost for a few seconds allowing you to overtake things safely.
  14. Raz. I was thinking the same thing about the buffering though, but have not seen anything that does it that way for at least 5 years. I think you can use the send to, in Windows XP, but I think it will put them onto a data CD and not a audio CD.
  15. Some one in our street had the word TW*T scratched into his door. He was selling at the time.
  16. Sounds like the car wasnt running right then. 120K miles is nothing too much either. If some one says the engine has been changed but cant show the goods, leave it a lone. Sounds the TITS? never heard that before, I presume it means good. :D BOLLOCK = Bad DOG'S BOLLOCKS = Good TITS UP = BAD THE TITS = Good Sounds about right.
  17. No those shit lyrics could have only been made up by Oasis. Seems to be on par with thier usual crap. ;)
  18. Yes you did mention its an Auto. But you didnt mention that is not the original box and is not standard and cost him thousands. :p
  19. I know we all love to get our car the most powerful on the road, but when is too much too much? I tried to shoot off in 2nd today on a wet road, but as soon as the revs hit 2500 - 3000 revs the wheels started spinning even though I had traction control. Obviously this is too much for the conditions today and I only have 1 or 2 mods. At what stage does the power become un-useable, up to the place where the video Warren has posted where if you floor it you will just spin. I would love to get to 400bhp and I probably will sooner enough, but personally much more than that is un usable on the road. Anyone have simalar thoughts? Stuart

Oh. Shit. I started an argument. Sorry! I know short wheel base cars are shorter, but are they not a little narrower too?
  22. Havre? Can you play your music on Winamp? Sould be able to. If so there is an option on Winamp on the output plugins on the preferences, and select "Winamp Output to Wav" This will then record the any music you play and turn it into a WAV file. Make sure you put it back after. You should then have a CD quality Wav file which can be used on CD writer. Stuart
  23. By the sounds of it these tracks will not be WAV files, but inface some sort of MOD file simalar to the ones used for Amiga games. Is there any way of converting the sounds to wav? There must be. A 4 min WAV should be about 50-60mb at CD quality. Stuart
  24. Have you posted on TT.net? They may have more people who have done it.
  25. At the moment there are 3 DVD writer formats, DVD-R, DVD+R, and DVD REM, all have advantages and disadvantages, not nether the less there are still 3. Like with video recorders when they first came out there where 3 then and only 1 remains. I dont want to buy a DVD writer only for that format to be not die out. I wanted a Sony one because it can do the DVD-R and DVD+R, but they have all be recalled for a bios flash. So I have decided to wait a few months and see what happens, which format comes out ontop. Thanks for your help guys. Stuart
