Would this work on a UK TT?
Right there is an adjustment screw under the throttle cable covers. This is a trick Japanese companies do to make it meet restrictions but can easily be changed. :D You just get a 10mm spanner and screw it right down and the butterfly open up a little more to its horizontal. I have pics but because its in an awkward place the angle which the picture was taken makes it look like there is no difference but there is. The 2nd pic was taken at a higher angle. :( The pic shows the location of the adjuster. I will tell you if it makes any difference. Stuart

I just had a look at it on my Z. I will post my findings. Stuart

Would this work on a UK TT?
What he was saying is the butterflies dont open fully because of this stopper, which was done to cut down the power to make it less powerful for laws and stuff. Taking some off opens it completely, but if you take too much off you will end op having the butterflies starting to lean back which will be closing it again. But on that vid there where stopers on each butterfly which stops this from happening. Come to think of it, there are ones inside the tube too. I think. Stuart

Indiglo Gauges - an alternative
Yeah cos the Jap dial and the UK dial are the same. Just UK in MPH and Jap in KPH but the spacing is the same. So in other words, if you put the MPH dial on, and the needle is at 60mph, if its on a Jap car you will be doing 60KPH. Stuart

Indiglo Gauges - an alternative
I think he means custom we can will have them in MPH and have what ever logo we want if any. But I think all 25 will have to be the same. Stuart

MAx Wattage of H3 bulbs in Projector (Low Beam)
Cos I put 100watt bulbs in and thought better but I could get it even better. So I then changed to 133watt. 3 weeks later they blew and I put the 100watt bulbs back in. Few weeks later they went. See there was a logic behind my reasoning. :D Stuart

Wow - 36 members & 6 guests online!
Good to help out another Z driver. Will you be joining us on one of our meetings during the year. Its really good to see every one and see other Zs accumilate. I like green. The only colour I would have over it is the Nissan Purple, but I have never seen one. Stuart

MAx Wattage of H3 bulbs in Projector (Low Beam)
Some people put foil on the inside of the light housing, which some say makes the lighting a lot better.

MAx Wattage of H3 bulbs in Projector (Low Beam)
UK ones use H3 bulbs. The light is not bad, but when I put 133watt bulbs in the light was fantastic, but they blew. Some cooling and maybe a better earth will help them last longer. I have seen a tech on how to conver Jap lights to accept H3 bulbs. May work for US. Stuart

MAx Wattage of H3 bulbs in Projector (Low Beam)
In the UK legally only allowed 55watt and I think that is the most it can take. I have tried 100watt but they blew after a few weeks, I tried 133watt with the same result. The bulbs get too hot in the head unit causing them to blow. Some people have drilled small holes in the lighting housing to allow the heat to escape with mixed results. Why you want German OEM parts? Wont all the Euro parts be the same? Stuart P.S. I forgot to say Welcome.

ECU Upgrades
How much is the SE chip? Any one know?

Traction Control
Its not that bad. Just time consuming. Do you have a laptop? Cos you should change some of the values on the TC, which can only be done with a lap top. Stuart

ECU Upgrades
Super chip! Get rid very soon.

I couldnt wait to get hold of mine, you then have hours of taking your car apart and soldering in the most difficult places. LOL Well worth it though. Stuart

Zorst queries
No as long a the brakes brake hard enough you wont fail. They cant test for warped discs anyway unless they take it on the road which they dont ;) There are also tricks to pass the immissions test too. :D

Central Locking Problem
Could it just be the fuse for the central locking blown? Stuart

Zorst queries
Could be some heat sheild which you could have losend, or the middle silencer is broken or even some part of the cat is lose. As for decatting there are pros and cons. You cant legally decat a post 92K reg car if the original spec has them on. If you have a pre K reg 92 car you are legally allowed to remove the stock spec cats. Removing the cats doesnt help the immissonions but you should still be able to pass it without them. How ever if the MOT centre notices you have gutted your cats on a post 92 you will fail regardless of whether your immissions are OK. On the other hand I only know of 2 people who have failed for gutting the cats. For performance, your turbos will spool up quicker which means the power will come earlier. I noticed that the engine reved better and smoother. It also makes your car sound slighly louder and deeper. The theory also says that your car should get slightly better MPG. LOL, yeah right, but you may notice a slight improvment on longer runs. On the downside gutting your cats puts more stress on your turbo seals because of the increased pressure when you let off the accelerator. Having your turbo seals leak means you will get oil dripping from your turbos into your exhaust. Not to much of a problem but will cause puffs of blue smoke every now and then, usually when you first start up in the morning. The leak will get worse and worse. Apparently the kit to stop them turbos leaking costs £40-50, but to have a mechanic do it for you will cost £400-£500 as it means turbos out. I have had my down pipe decatted and I have had no problems. If you turbos are young enough and good condtion you will probably no no problems yourself. If you turbos are already leaking slightly, decatting will accelerate the problem. Just giving you the facts. Stuart

Yes I think he did stall it and then it came back on when he let the clutch out in gear. He may have that problem with the induction kit, which stalls when you put the cluch in at speed becuase of the strange air flow some filters make. Or could be the TPS which needs cleaning and resetting. Stuart

Central Locking Problem
Does it central lock when you use the key on the drivers door? I think the Z needs a solinoid installed for the passenger door. It may be on the way out or faulty. Stuart

Where to get power for front fog lights in engine fuse box.
Permently on fogs = fail MOT Permently on fogs = £60 fine. You sure want to do this? You fog lights have to be able to be turned off by law, otherwise its an MOT fail. Also having your foglighs on when its not foggy is also against the law and can result in a £60 fine. I have seen it happen. Usually you get a warning first, but if you then drive off after a warning with them still on they will probably think you are really thick and pull you again but for a fine this time. Your best bet is to put another switch in the car just for your front fogs. But like I said, driving with your front fogs on when its not foggy is illegal. I am sure that you are only doing this to compensate for the shíte dips. I want to put fogs on mine for when I am on streets with no lights, but having them on all the time is asking for trouble. I have seen some one pulled over for having fog lights on during the day. Stuart

I was thinking that myself. The dash varies from year to year and I dont have any lights there, so I cant say what they where. Looks to me like the engine cut out but doesnt sound like it. Im very confused. Stuart
