  1. No the post about it struggling when it got hot, was another post. Nothing to do with that one. It was another guy and it was on his NA 300ZX I noticed that some one at the North West meet had his stock fan removed. Who's was it. He was on the ramp most of the after noon :( Stuart Stuart
  2. There are no right and wrong answer, but I think we will all agree on a few critiera. 1. Fully Synthetic oil, semi synthetic minamum. NEVER MINERAL OIL! 2. Major brands only. Dont go for ones you never heard of, stick with Castrol, Mobil, Helix (Shell), things like that. 3. Do an oil change very often. 3000-4000 miles. 4. High mileage engines, dont get oil with low temperatures. I used 0-40 and it was too thin and my engines made noises. Go for 5 minimum prefably 10 or 15. Stuart
  3. ;) I know you where not being snotty. And so was I ;) Stuart
  4. I agree. People spend too much time and money making the car go faster which makes it more dangerous and over look making the car stop quicker which makes the car safer. Stuart
  5. Mark Read this on TT.net http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=748842 Stuart
  6. Hmmmm. I was getting close to that. Just read on TT.net actually, that flushing the water out properly and use special cleaners which will clean out any old conjield anti freeze an help a lot. I think I will do that tomorrow. Stuart
  7. I just did a search on TT.net, Mark, and one person so far said that they keep the engine cooler when the engine wasn't working as hard. But once the temp reaches 80ºC the Electric fans where not good enough and the temp kept getting higher and higher. He had to put the stock back on. Stuart
  8. I'm not intereted in what you said this morning ;) What about the people with NA? Will that have to have the logo? Stuart
  9. Tell you something though. Hot days make the Z water really hot. On a cool evening my temperature hardly reaches 60ºC when driving on the motorway. I went on the motorway last Thursday when it was really hot doing 70 for about 15 miles and my after market temp went to just under 95ºC and the stock gauge was normal. What temp should I start to panic at? Stuart
  10. Any news on the reverse glow ones are you only got the indiglow ones?
  11. What about pressure gauge? Thats where it would be. Stuart
  12. http://www.swgmotorsport.com/asps/Search.asp?types=yes&type=Mk2+GOLF Its on this page. You have to file or sand it down a little to make it fit. But not much. Stuart
  13. I got a Mongoose exhaust and its lasted 3 years and there is not a bit of rust on them. I took the whole exhaust off last week. Its all stainless steel and you can get them for about £450
  14. I think they are great. Nice and simple some are really tacky. Stuart
  15. WFT you are saying. That should be no problem. Will I was in my Corsa 1.2 8V at the time. The poor guy in the other Corsa didnt know how to driver a car. LOL. There is nothing on here saying the kills have to be in your Z. ;) Stuart

Sorry to say this I am making way down the outside lane, moving to other lanes when all is clear, but on the days when you spend most of the time in the outside because its busy and you are keeping a safe distance from the car infront, when you get a car driving up your arse wanting you to move over, 90% of the time its a BMW driver. If so many people say they behave like that, then there must be some truth in the stereo typical view of BMW drivers. Like I said in another post, they its not all of them. Its either BMW drivers are that bad, or according to BMW drivers every one else on the road is wrong. Which seems to be the same thing to me. According to most BMW drivers every one else on the road is doing wrong and they are always right. LOL. ;) Stuart
  17. Black or blue? Black smoke usually means over fueling, while blue means turbos are leaking oil. Dont forget that a turbo change means 2 turbos which can only be accessed from under the car or its an engine out job. If the turbos do go, why you going to scrap it? how much is this car going for? If my turbos went I wouldnt scrap it, as it would be a waste of the £5000 i paid for it, let alone the thousands I have spent on her keeping her on the road. Stuart
  18. What colour is the smoke? You get water vapour in the exhaust which comes out as white smoke when you start up, but shouldnt last that long. The stock turbo gauge is very inaccurate. You really need to drive it when it is warm. The needle should go upto the line before the +14PSI line. If not the car is in safty boost, and you turn and run as fast as you can. Stuart
  19. I use Auto Glym Bumper Care.
  20. Could that be the speed sensor? Its all I can think off. Has you speedo or steering been OK? If it is your speed sensor, its easy enough to change and costs about £100 for a new one. I am sure you can get a 2nd hand one from AndyZ for a fraction of the price. This is assuming that it is the problem. Stuart
  21. Was it you? I cant remember now it was so long ago LOL. At least over a week ago. ;) That place is in Ipswich too, isnt it? You can save on the postage then. Stuart

Its a question which is asked many times and there is no real answer. For turboed cars Semi or Full syntetic is required to stop the oil congeling up on contact on the hot turbos. For an NA, semi syntheic will do. The reason I suggested it was I ran 0-40 and I got a ticking when my engine warmed up. I then got 5-40 and it was still there and I just basically shat myself becuase I thought my engine was about to blow up. A few oil changes later I put 15-50 in and the ticking went. I use Castrol RS 15-60 oil at the moment as it is meant to be the so called "BEST" but oil is oil for me. Just stay away from non major brands. Stuart
  23. Apexi ;) According to that article which you refered to which said HKS had the worse filtration, the APEXi came out on top with the best filtration by far and the 2nd best power increase. They look cool because they are cool. ;) Stuart

I cant believe I have missed this thread. First time I read it. I would agree with BMW drivers. Unfortunatly its only the 85% of them that sit up your arse no matter where you are. The other 15% of them are probably good drivers. ;) Also its classed as an exclusive executive car, so why is there always 2 or 3 in view no matter where you are? My hate is people not using mirrors. Yesterday roundabout I was turning right and on the road before the roundabout, there where 3 lanes. Left lane arrow pointing left, and the middle and right lane had arrows pointing right, and the roundabout was 2 lanes. I am in the middle lane and there are 2 cars in the right lane turning right with me. We all go round, Im on the outside of the roundabout and the other 2 are on the inside. I indicate to turn off, and neither of the inside cars to, just as we are about to leave the roundabout, the front car of the ones inside me, just decides to move into my lane where I am, with out indicating. So he didnt indicate to come off the roundabout, didnt indicate to signal a lane change and didnt look in his mirrors. Stuart
  25. Dont forget now that you can be fined for having a loud exhaust. If you get something that looks stock and about right they cant really do anything. But when you start using 5-6inch pipes which look totally OTT, you can get an on the spot fine of £60. Its happened to a few people on Scoobynet. Stuart
