Look at your engine and on the left on the back cambelt covers you will see a metal square with a plug on either side. That is your PTU. Its a little bit like a speaker amp, but it amplifies electric currents to the spark plugs. You can try take it off and clean the contacts. It worked for me. You probably can use a circut tester to see if that is the problem but I dont know what to do. However the cars Self Diagnostics will be able to tell you if it is the PTU. Do you know now to do a diag on your ECU? Its really easy. Stuart
  2. I have heard the odd click from the dash too. I think its the motors changing the vent direction. Stuart

Unplugging the yellow temp sensor will cause the fan to come on too.
  4. Hmmmm tastey ;)
  5. Hmmmmm tastey
  6. There was a yellow Lamborghini colour too which is nice. It think the colour could be due to the studio lights.
  7. Notice any difference?
  8. You mean this colour?
  9. No but you should really get your ECU chipped with JWT or SE or some thing like that as increased boost on stock ECU will cause detonation with a little boost increase. You dont have to remap your ecu every time you change your boost and you can even change your boost as you are driving. Stuart
  10. Cool. Good luck anyway. Keep in touch anways, and on the car front, I think it will be easier to import a new car personally unless you are totally attached to your one. But you said you want a TT, so I would wait untill you get over here then get one imported. Its probably worth looking into a company getting the car for you as they usually give 6-12 month warrenty with it. Get one yourself and it brakes you have no come back. Stuart

I think the general rule is that they are most are very good, but you have to keep your car clean. Washing it and then polishing it every now and then is not enough. You have to keep it clean. Stuart
  12. Why you coming to the UK? Do you want more people to be around, as there are cities which are big with plenty of going on such as Manchester, Leeds and so on. Each closer to the country side (trust me you need a break from cities after a while) and there are no congestion charges. Stuart
  13. 300,000 people? I live in a medium sized town and there are about 300,000 people in the borough. There are congestion charges in the centre of London. If you say live in London do you mean the surrounding areas or right in the middle? Have you ever experienced a traffic jam ;) Only joking. But compairing a place which is 21 miles to here, I can see the advantages. ;) I just got back from a holiday in Scotland driving in my Z. Great Z roads with superb views. :D ;) If you are importing the car yourself, there are garages which are able to do all the work for you if you wish to make it UK compliable. The only think which I can think of which should be changed but most places dont bother are the tyres. UK tyres have to tested to European standards and be stamped with a E on them. Jap cars dont have the E on them, and in theory the car wont be able to drive on UK roads until the tyres are changed, but like I said most places dont bother and I have never heard any one with troubles. Stuart
  14. It is probably easier to get one over here as imported cars have to have a little work done to them to make them UK legal, such as rear fog lights and converting speedo and it has to be re-registered with the DVLA (UK Car database thing). Virually all Jap car importers have this work done for you when the car arrives in this country. If you bring your car you will have to do most of that to your car anyway. Also, get a Twin Turbo. :D In the UK there is virtually no difference in price to buy a Turbo and NA ones. I dont know how much you pay for a Z where you are but you can ger ones for £5000 to £12,000 with mileage ranging from 160,000 miles like mine ;) to some with 20,000 miles. There are plenty of importers here too. I dont think you are mad. Some people prefer rain and mud brown seas to clear blue skies and golden beaches. ;) Stuart

My hair has never been so managable.

Dont T-Cut too often. You will strip all the paint off. I use Auto Glym all the time and only polish it about once a year with normal polish and maybe once every 2 years I will T-Cut it. When I polish it I used the polish and then the gloss protection. Now when I just wash it, it looks like its just been polished, but you do have to wash it every week. Stuart

There is a lot of talk on this forum, but I dont think many people have dyno'd their cars, not for a while anyway, Stuart
  18. Blended on side skirts, blended rear spoiler, West Wing rear bumper, round tail light converson, total respray, lightend under pully, mongoose exaust, blitz induciton, Apexi boost controller, JWT ECU, Blitz 18 inch wheels, Koni struts, Blitz Lowering springs to name a few differences ;) Oh and a strut brace ;)
  19. Errr thanks B19rks, I think ;) Apparently the thermostat is working fine. I dont know whats wrong. I am now thinking that the sensor is playing up as at 110ºC which it says it gets to, steam should be shooting from the rad cap. Stuart
  20. Its seen some action this picture. The person who took it should charge you royalties every time you use it. Stuart ;)
  21. I know. I am just waiting for it to cool down. I have my bucket of Auto Glym products handy.
  22. Yeah the fan wires work. I have acutally got it moving but it needs a little nudge and then id doesnt spin fast enough. It spins on 2 settings too. There is a really low speed when the engine reaches about 90ºC and if you take the ECU temp sensor off when it should go really fast, its spins enough to make a small breeze Stuart
  23. It was worth it.
  24. See. That isnt engine over heat. The brakes caught fire because the wheels are on wrong.
