  1. I like the way in the middle of this disaster for some one, he/she still had time to take some nice pictures of the sky. ;)

I got 31mpg driving to Scotland, sat in traffic for an hour, using aircon for half the way and with the boot fully loaded. Believe me I was the most surprised. But short aroung town I get about 15=17mpg. As for the insurance quote, that will be for a UK Z. All UK Zs are Twin Turbo, 2+2 and have T-Top. So if its a None Turbo or 2 seater you are thinking to buy it is a Japanese Import. But a lot of Japanese are Twin Turbo 2+2 seaters though. Japanese Imports are about 20% more expsensive to insure than UK and are more of a pain to insure as mot all places do that. If you get a Z, save up some money every month for your car. Its one of those things when nothing could happen for months and then a wheel bearing will go, and the parts for a Z are very expensive as most parts for the Z are only used on the Z. Where abouts in the country are you? Stuart
  3. Silver car, he must be gay. ;)
  4. I dont think it can effect your ABS on a Z as the rear ABS sensors are more or less on the diff. But could effect the front ones.
  5. They are impressive because they have 6 litre engines and only produce 300bhp and maybe tune to 400bhp if they are lucky. But American cars bhp per litre is terrible.
  6. What site you get these from? I remember finding a site with loads of articles like this on, but I cant find it again. But I think you are on it now. Stuart
  7. My dads not charging for it. He has done some spraying over the years but advised that flip paint is hard to do, because if something does go wrong, smudge, dribble or such a thing, with flip paint you have to do the whole thing again where usually you are able to polish out stuff like that. My options are still open but talking with DaveW, I realise how much I love it in red, even though one person thinks red is gay ;) So it may stay red, but resprayed red as some parts are starting to turn a little pink :S Now that is gay ;) Stuart
  8. I think the UK spec has oil, gear and diff coolers and the japs dont. Stuart

The intercooler is the big thing in the middle.
  10. I love the pic of the Z racing round. The rear wheels are smoking and he is obviously drifting it. :D

OMG. That Yank Z has those sad alloys where the outside spins round when the car is stopped.
  12. If I may dust of an old saying "See it" ;) Yeah good article. Considering the 300ZX came out when the old RX-7 turboII was going, the square fat Supra was going, the GT3000 wasnt out and I dont think the NSX was out or was not far off. I like the picture of all the cars driving down the road in formation, obviously the photographer didnt read the warning not to place any body part out of the hatch while the car is moving ;) There was another US article where writers and editors had 4 cars to test 300ZX, Supra, RX-7 and I think a Corvette and say which they would like to have. I think nearly every one picked the 300ZX. It wasnt the fastest, it wasnt the most powerful, but they all said it was the best to drive. Stuart
  13. You should get it cheaper than that. Especially with your age, but London is an espensive place to insure a car.
  14. Where are the holes for the dials?
  15. Do you have any no claims? Can you carry it across over hear? For quotes, try http://www.tesco.co.uk. Its under personal finance. Also, http://www.directline.co.uk This are main brand insurance companies but there are specialist ones too. But those will give you a good idea of what to expect. Stuart
  16. No I think you may be mistaken. No I am sure you are. No I know you are mistaken
  17. Dont think there is a Skyline Vspec non turbo. The non turbo is called the GTS I think and it is nothing special. Not the same engine as the GTR I think it is a 2.5 not a 2.6. Its only 2 wheel drive too. My dad looked at getting one but finding insurance was impossible as non of them had the GTS on their books.
  18. I asked my dad about it as he would do the spraying, he said it is hard as if you get it wrong you cant go back. I am looking into it though. :D
  19. I phoned the paint shop and he said they dont stock other.
  20. I MAY be totally redoing my Z and with that a total respray, in my own time though. What colour do you think I should do? I was thinking Purple, maybe the Nissan Purple used on the late Zs or the Skyline blue. What colour do you think? Post your ideas. Stuart

  22. Let me give you an example of how good the stock gauge is. My after market reads 40ºC Stock reads about 1/3 My aftermarket rises to 60ºC Stock reads half way Aftermarket reads 80ºC Stock reads half way Aftermarket reads 90ºC Stock reads half way Aftermarket reads 100ºC Stock still reads half way Aftermaket reads 110ºC Stock still reads half way. From what I hear you get little warning that your car is over heating on the stock gauge. One second its normal the next it shoots to Hot. Oil Pressure is a must too. Just on the basis that Nissan sender unit is £80 and a universal replacment for other dials are £7. Stuart
  23. I would have a Ferrari F40. But it will be a bad condition one for £100,000. :D Other than that. A 2 Seater Hardtop 2000 Spec Z and do it up. Stuart
