The AA and RAC sub contract other people out anyways. If they cant fix your car there and then it they subcontract a local firm or like Green Flag to go pick you up, that way it doesnt mess up their statistics. Stuart

Still no cruise control

Fecking BLASTER
I formatted both my HDDs last night and installed Windows XP for the 50th time. Connected to the internet via cable modem, after installing. I installed 2 updates and I visited the forum for about 10 mins. Since then the modem has been off. I installed my fire wall today and that AVG Virus checker. Fire wall on, first thing, MSBLASTER wants access to the internet. How the hell did it get on with only 15 mins on the internet. I hate these fecks who make these things. Ran the virus checker and it found 2 worms on it. Does Windows come with these things installed? Im begining to think so. Stuart

Im with the RAC at the moment. I only needed them once but that one time they get the street wrong dispite me arguing with them where I was, they said they would be 40 mins but took 2 hours, put my problem down as an exaust problem even though I said it wasnt, my request for a flatbed turned into a van which towed me. And to top it all off they dont do the Little Chief 15% discount to RAC members. Stuart

Q&A please
To change the rear crank seal is virtually all the work of changing your clutch? How old is your clutch? Do you have a manual? My seal was leaking and I was going to get it changed but some one said hold out until you need a clutch. Lucky I did as 3 weeks after I was going to get the seal sorted my clutch started slipping and I did the seal with the clutch change. Saved me paying out on the same labour twice. The seal itself is about £20 from Nissan and labour will be about £100-£150 Stuart

MSN failure tonight.
That is what happens when every one on the list blocks you. The server knows its wasting its time as no one will be there. ;)

Engine probs from standing for ages?
Even if there was oil in it, you need to start it to get the oil to the top of the engine anyway dont you?

side sills rotting away
Oook feck. That happened to mine big time. Had to patch up some of the chassis too. Lucky we knew a metal welder who made some up for me. Not seen him in a while now. Stuart

I could knock on the door, but there was no one in the car. So no point knocking on the car door. Stuart

The main settings you should change are the wheels sizes and I think you can work that out for yourself, and if your wheels are increased insize maybe the difference threshold or what ever its called. The value which sets the difference between wheel speeds when you are turning corners. Good way to test it is to turn a circle full lock, making sure you are over the min rev range and min speed. If its wrong the TC will activate. You just need to increase the threshold a little. I keep my settings mostly on stock. I used some one elses settings but it cause the TC to be late cutting in and cause the car to shudder badly when it did. Stuart

Z sighting: White in Manchester
Yesterday afternoon (3rd September) I saw a nice white Z parked up at a house on the East Lancs just before the motorway turning for the M61 on Manchester. Any one here? Stuart

It was a joke Stuart ;) Just making comment that the pressure was on to get it right as there was some one filming what was heppening. ;) I do have fun you cheeky bugger what you think the 20% setting on the Traction Control is for? :p Better yep put it on 10% in the wet and find a nice big corner. :D Stuart

Its WMV. Windows Media Video. DIVX are usually AVI but there could be a codec that you dont have. Download the Nimo Codec pack. Sliding not acutally that hard to do, just take a little guts knowing get it wrong and there is video evidience which can be used by the insurance companies of the 4 cars you trashed ;) Also sometimes taking your foot completely off the accelerator is one of the worst things you can do when the happens. Nice sounding though. :D Stuart

lights or dim's
I have tried BOSH 100W bulbs and they only lasted 2 months or so. I saw a site which sold offical Nissan Xion lights for the Z. At £1200 I think its a little down the list of wanted stuff. Stuart

So.... Who was at GPS today?
I noticed a few people there. Who from here was there? Stuart

lights or dim's
100Watt bulbs from Halfords too, but they wont last very long. They tend to blow because they over heat in the small area.

whoaaaaa Boy !!
Did your wheels lock up? Good pads make a big difference. There is no definate answer to brakes, bigger is usually better but when you are stuck with the size of brakes there is little you can do. Firstly pads will make a difference. The pads on a Z should be quite high performance, but this makes them terrible at low temperatures, say for the first 5-6 miles or so. But once warmed up they will be good. If you where driving quite fast, your brakes could have over heated. All you can do is change them for some Kevlar or EBC Red Stuff pads, which are designed to work at higher temperatures, at the cost of bad performance when cold. You could get your brake lines completely beld and have fresh fluid put in. If your brakes over heat and boil the fluid (Its not that hard to do really) the fluid will be ruined and make things worse. You could get Braded Brake Lines. As things get warm and you press the brake, the pressure causes the last few inches of brake line which is rubber to expand. This is pressure being wasted. You may not think its much but times the wasted pressure by 4 and its significent. Your pistons could need resealing. There are a number of other things you could do, but these are the easiest/cheapest/most common things to do. Stuart
