does anyone know where i would be able to get one of these from, and roughly how much?

 

also, what does the sub fan cool? is it just the air con or is it anything more important? one of my turbos blew a while back and i think i remember somone saying the sub fan has some sort of role in cooling the turbos? is this correct:eek:

Eddy, depends on what you mean as the sub fan, in my book i refer to the elecy fan that comes on when you start to overheat as the sub fan, (it sits the other side of the rad) it also comes on if it detects certain engine/ecu faults, as for relays, as far as i know it's in the box in engine bay passenger side, next to one of yer intake pipes.

Has no effect on the turbo's though, neither of the fans do.

By bridging the wires on the temp sender unit, it should fire up, just as a test of course :D

Unplugging the yellow temp sensor will cause the fan to come on too.

glad to hear it hasn't got any affect on the turbos, although i still want to get the relay as i have a warrent that will hopefully pay for the work. trouble is i know they'll try everything to wriggle out of paying out, and i'd like to make sure everything is sorted and working as it should before i try and make a claim.

 

smithy, the hybrids you sell. what sort of power can they take? what bearings do they have? i'd like to upgrade my turbos but cant justify the cost as i'm gonna have to use all my student overdraft to get the work done (if the warrenty dont pay out). if they would last longer than stock though (better bearings for instance) and wouldnt need upgrading again i may consider it though. any advice would be gratefully recieved!:D

Eddy, i can can offer bigger discounts on the hybrids as oppossed to the stock ones, stocks delivered are £925 all in, hybrids are only an extra 75 quid a piece all in, So if the warrenty paid for em, they wouldn't even know they were hybrids at that price....

ALL my tubs come with the stagger gap rear seal in em as well.

Can mail you the excact spec if yer wish, and hybrids at this price will happily take the mid 400's at upto 1.5 bar ( subject to correct fuelling air/mixture)

if you wouldnt mind mailing me the info that would be great! if the warrenty pays for new stock ones i'd defo want some but i'm not gonna hold my breath for them to pay out.

 

i dont think i'll be able to afford to mod the car to any more than 450 brake the whole time i own it:D so they'll do the job definitely! plus the stagger gap seal is somthing i definitely want. how much would those be to fit to my stock turbos incase i have to pay for the work myself and can only afford to recondition them, as i want to de cat my car in the near future.

No probs Ed, if yer warrenty pays a grand for newies, which is cheaper than Nissan ones, you'll get hybrids with the stagger gap seals and just send your old knackered ones back to my supplier, turbo dynamics so they can be canabolised :D
