  1. I know its not a good picture But this is what the screen is like, very close up. Its fully zoomed out so there isnt much detail on it. It does zoom all the way down to street level Stuart
  2. Ammar, I got a Garmin Street Pilot 3 Deleux. Its one that you sit on your dash so you can take it into another car, it also has routes for walking, cycling etc. It has voice directions, which although annoying when you know where you are are vital when you are driving though a city centre. The I used it to go Thor, and I got straight there. I have also used it to get to a place in Wolverhampton and a place in Leeds, both times I had to go through the city centre and I would never found the places with out it. If you go off route it automatically recalculates how to get where you need to go. Also when coming up to a turning, roundabout or junction, the map zooms in on the road. Usually the image follow the triagle symbolising the car, but this time it displays the roundabout with the route you have to take highlighted in a different colour to the rest of the roads and you can see the trangle move along the roads. When you get past that part of the road, the screen then zooms back out to see more of the map. The screen is 16 colours which is not much but it doesnt seem to be so little when you are using it. You dont need so many. But the best part about it, they cost £550 from Costco. :D The cheapest I have seen which does the same as that costs £1300. They come down because there is a new model out which has a touch screen, but this is more than you need. :D :D :D
  3. Nice site. I have seen something like that before. It may be the same one but had an image change. They had good pictures too but there was a top 10 looked at cars in the past week and there was also a top 10 favourate cars of the creator of the site. The 300ZX was usually in the top 10 looked at but was also in the top 10 fav cars of the creator too :D He had taste. I need to find that site again, I liked it :D
  4. Found it, the original name for the song was "I'll Put A Spell On You" but was unoficially changed because people thought it was called Strange and Beautiful after the Beetle adverts
  5. It actually have 2 names, the more popular "Strange and beautiful" but when I searched for it, it had a different name. Anyway its by Aqualung.

There is only 1 way of getting rid of rust. Cutting or grinding it away.
  7. The whole thing was on a sort of a budget. The main reason for the engine rebuild is to get it back to how is should be, by replacing a lot of the components. I could have got larger turbos but then some other part of the engine would have suffered. My main priority was to get the engine working as best as I could, not to buy larger turbos and hope the rest of the engine still works.
  8. Well I asked that to the people got the gasket set from and they said the gaskets for the turbos where not in the gasket set, and so I ordered new gaskets for the turbos. I now have 2 sets of turbo gaskets as one set is supplied with the set. There is everything in the gasket set, including sump washer so I dont know why I was told there where no turbo gaskets.
  9. I remember the local policeman coming in to school every year and teaching the green cross code. Now Primary schools are so busy trying to train kids to do well in exams so they are higher in the league table, they are not taught every day needed skills like crossing the road. However there now has to be a teacher supervising the kids on the road.
  10. Another case that speed cameras dont work. Every one says they should be put up out side schools because that is where the danger is. My grilfriend is a teacher and there are 2 speed cameras right out side the school on the main road and another set 200 yards up the road and the same in the opposite road. Yesterday a child was run over because he ran out into the road between parked cars, about 50 yards away from a proper crossing. How did those speed, sorry Safey Cameras make the road safer in that situation?
  11. Yeah that was done a while ago. Remember that American made a fid of it, and his engine stalled when he let off. I have this nut and I didnt notice any difference. The pedal went down slightly more but that was it.
  12. Mike Duff is from St. Helens. I am for Wigan
  13. Digital cameras are very bad at getting certain colours, even £1500 digital cameras need some setting up to get the colours right.
  14. Every time I do a large post, I always copy it to a temp txt file on my desk top incease such a thing happens.

RETRO!!! :D :D :D Wheren't games hard to play then. Not like games now where it you will complete it eventually. These games you had to be good to finish it.
  16. It may effect the car some where, but the damage it is causing may be so slow that that we will never see the damage in the cars life time. It may take 10 year before it happens.
  17. I asked that and he said that he has sold them to people in the UK before and they had no problems. To be honest I think they actually are Jap ones and made for right hand drive and its infact the people in the US who have more trouble fitting them. Stuart
  18. I have been DaveW's car and found no difference in the smoothness. When dont forget the car was made lighter pulleys where proably more expensive than now. It was 15 years ago since the first Z was produced. Materials have got cheaper and stronger and the machines to make these things would have got better and cheaper too.
  19. Something under the pillow or something. Put the poster under the door and use a screwdriver or something in the room to push the key though, pull the poster and it will have the key on it.
  20. There is a difference between removing weight and getting a new pulley. To be truthful there are very few modification which will add more power with out making something else go worse.
  21. The the engine is pushing well over a tonne, but it has gears to do that. To really see how much it is pushing you should try to pull off in 4th gear on a manual, as that is 1:1 ratio. The engine would stall or you would rip the hell out of your clutch and would pull away very very slow. Its as simple as if you had hold of the 13lb7oz standard pully and the 1lb14oz pulley, you should throw the lighter pulley probably 5 or 6 times further because its lighter. Same with a fly wheel, you would be able to throw a lighter one further because it is lighter. The engine can move a 1.5 tonne car, not because of the engine power but because of the gearing. I can push my car and I dont have 300bhp ;) I think you are also failing to realise that at low revs ie. idle to 2000 rpm the engine has very little power where over 11lb of pulley difference and 10lb of flywheel does make a difference and it makes a difference when the engine revs are coming down. A heavier object will have more force when spinning at the same speed of a lighter one, so the heavier object will need more force to slow down. Same with spinning up. The heavier objects need more force to spin up.
  22. How far have people got? Im stuck on the keypad with the smiley faces on.
  23. How long have you had your Z? And how long have you actually driven it? Didnt seem that long after you bought it you put it in for work.
  24. Just getting my ones reconditioned but with completely uprated parts. New wheels, shafts 360º bearings, step gap rings, etc etc.
  25. Yeah I have one too. Not really used it yet. Good to get part numbers from, but a pain get use.
