Spraying intercoolers
Yeah but a 2 second spray wont do too much. You really need it when flooring it or just before flooring it and it means you will have 1 hand of the washer button while driving. You may not know whether you really need it or not. There is no point spraying cold water on to intercoolers that dont need it.

Spraying intercoolers
Try it then. Only problem is, you have to have your lights on to make the water spray work. Head light spray doesnt work with the lights off. ;) I was going to do that but my mate showed me this water spray system and I thought I may have a go at that.

Spraying intercoolers
I have been looking at a inteligent cooling system. You really need the water to be more fine than what your head light washers squirt, plus it will have soap in it as its the same water supply as your window wash. This may cause more damage than good, I dont know. I have been looking into a system wich automatically sprays water on the intercoolers when they reach a certain temperature. It works by spraying in pluses depending on the temperature. For example, if the intercooler is at xxºC it will spray for 2 seconds and then wait for 2 seconds for it to take effect and then spray for 2 seconds. As the intercoolers cool down it sprays less water and leaves a longer gap between each spray, and the opposite happens when they get hotter, it sprays water for longer. I have just been waiting for my funds to recover a little before actually paying out money. Stuart

Gadgets Gadgets Gadgets!
I use a Finepix 6900, and the quality of the pics is very good. I think that camera has the same optical chip in, just our one has a larger zoom.

Warning light
Cats work by heating up the exhaust gas before it leaves. This burns off a lot of the harmful gas, so they actually work by getting hot, they are running too hot.

Import Advice
There are a few differences between UK and Import, mostly cosmetic, like slightly different light lay out. UK suspention is harder and UK has wider rear wheels. http://www.300zx.org.uk/mod_comp_1.htm The link shows you in more detail. I would say about 75% of ZXs are automatics, maybe more, so there are not many manuals around. Plus you tend to find people who have wanted and have manuals look and wait for them and are less inclined to sell them on as easily. Stuart

Import Advice
There are no stats for autos and manuals. The only stats 0-60 given is 5.2 but that was for the US spec which is 2 seater and a fair bit lighter and more powerful.

Another UJCC meet video
640 x 480 and 16bit 44khz Stereo sound it a little too high. There is no point in stereo sound when there is music dubbed over it and most camcorder microphones dont record stereo sound that well. 16bit Mono 22.5khz would make the sound part of the file a 1/4 of the original size and the sound quality would hardly be any different. A res of 400x300 again would drastically reduse the size and with moden encoding would still look very good quality. Just a few suggestions ;)

Gillette Ad car..
Lets face it, Corvettes are nothing special and neither are Porsche 911s except the turbo, Morgans are slow as hell and I have never rated the Ferrari 360, they look boring. :(

Another body work question
The stone chip stuff is like a thick rubbery paint which you put on and then spray the coloured paint over it. If its right at the bottom of the car and hard to see and is a small area just paint over it, just make sure it is clean and dry. If you are really worred, get some rust protector from Halfords and paint over the area first and when that drys in an hour or so, put your touch up paint over it.

Another body work question
Is it a nissan colour? Should be able to get one from Nissan. Halfords may have something close to it. Other than than there must be a auto paint shop close to you. They can make you a small airsole car of it. Stuart

Another body work question
make sure there is no dirt on it, and give it a quick go over with paint and a brush. Like you said you cant really tell because of the stone chip.

Bonnet damage ( high wind)
Look at it this way. If another car hits you, its their insurance. If a bus hits you, its there insurance, it something come off the back of a lorry and hits you, its thier insurance, if a slate falls off your house onto your car, its the house insurance. Unless the house does a runner ;)

Running the engine in, my experience!
I was actually told 2000 miles by the people who bored the block and I trust them mostly. I think after 2000 miles I will give it some but not fully untill 3000 miles. Could do what Warren did and go racing round the Nurmberg (Spelling) ring straight after a rebuild ;)
