Big Problem pls read
Don't worry Greg, just feeling sorry for myself. Just spent £1k sorting the gearbox, halfway through a head unit install, - everything hanging out the dash, - and I can't get in and finish it! My wife's hiding the bricks, although she wants me to get rid of the thing, and I hate to say it but right now I'm almost tempted. Lets hope sleeping on it will help. Has to bl**dy happen on a bank holiday though. Simon.

Steve the best way to do this is connect the jump leads to the two points on the car first. Then the negative terminal onthe battery, and the final connection to the positive. this should allow you to get the positive lead attached on the starter safely while it's not carrying any juice. Good luck, Simon.

The lock will not turn. I don't know whether it is frozen up or disconnected, I've only previously used the internal release. Simon.

Another big problem please read.
Ther's a gremlin somewhere at work. How come two of us can have something similar happen within half an hour of each other? The next chapter in my unhappy saga: I have a META 999t alarm with imbobiliser, central locking and full closure. I recently had problems with the windows not shutting properly, took it to an alarm installer who sorted the problem..........or so I thought. Had a similar problem tonight, only to find the car is locked, and alarmed, I can disarm the alarm, but despite a clicking the doors are not unlocking. Anyone have any idea 1) How I gain entry to the car, - locks have been disconnected? 2) If I get in, how do I open the door (if that makes sense?) 3) If as I think it's something in the door, is there a way of getting the door open when it is locked shut? All answers helpful, Simon. Last question........should I keep it??

Quick question
Standing outside the car (sounds stupid but easiest to explain) reaching over the speaker grill pull far side back towards you, "squeezing the grill". As you do this lift the side upwards and the grill should pop up. The screws holding the speakers are then visible when the grill has been removed. Terrible explanation but I hope it helps. Simon. :D

God I am pissed!
Similar thing happened to my wife. We caught the person who did it, and they confessed. Waiting for it to go to court, they set fire to a flat. Went to court, charged with arson, but our case for criminal damage wasn't pursued, "as it wasn't in the public interest". We had to claim off the insurance, no money offered from anywhere else!! Simon.

Clean now, but in my youth I had the honour of clocking up 12 points on my bike for speeding. Simon. :)

Is it available nationwide, and what do they charge? I'm currently with a company that is somewhat temperamental, so would be interested in a change. Simon.

what stereo?
I've been advised not to go for the ones on Ebay as the tuning range doesn't complement the UK stations as effectively, and you don't benefit from the RDS with the tuner. Simon. :)

Auto oil cooler HELP PLEASE
Many thanks Jeff and John, the kit on z centre does specify for Jap imports. I decided to go with what he's offering for the very reason Jeff has given. ( I haven't forgotten your wheel Jeff, but things have gone pretty pear shaped since I last saw you. Please bear with me.) This site is so worth joining for the expert advice given. £20 for a year. Can you really argue it isn't worth it?? Simon.

Auto oil cooler HELP PLEASE
Hi guys, Further to my problems with the autobox, I've been advised by the garage repairing it that the cooler is totally blocked. They've tried flushing it out without success. I know there is a known problem with this on imports, but I now have to work out what to do about it. They are offering a replacement cooler fitted for £135 quid (I'm told it's the standard sized item for the UK car.) This is a modification I would have had to do, but is it worth going with this now, or should I try the engine oil cooler upgrade instead? Looking a the z centre site, I see the auto oil uses the old engine oil cooler, whilst the engine oil uses the new cooler when replaced. I can see this may be the better option, but the timescales involved may prohibit me taking it. Does anyone know how the cooler they're offering compares in terms of performance to the old imported one, and how much of a benefit is the increased capacity for the engine oil cooler? Lots of questions I know, but any replies will help. Thanks, Simon.
