  1. Sorry it's down the bottom of the garden where I threw it, when I burnt my fingers. Simon :(
  2. I think it is 10 litres including the reservoir tank (which holds 0.6 litres) Hope this helps, Simon
  3. Welcome. You've come at a ripe time. There are some very "special" 300s up for sale at the moment. Have a look through the "for sale" section. As a relative novice I have found the advice from the members of this site to be invaluable, and I am sure when they see your thread they will be able to offer you assistance. Simon :)
  4. Might be okay on tickover, but a bit of right foot might help in the volume stakes :D :D Simon :)
  5. OW!! As I haven't got my car I tried a kettle. It hurts! Simon( :xxx: )
  6. Don't you mean a cod leather piece ;) Sorry Tim don't hurt me :mac1:

Check out Road Angel on ebay. Significant savings to be made on list prices. Simon :D :D
  8. Having problems with mine!! Should I go ahead with a pulley conversion?? Simon :D
  9. Thanks for the reply Paul. Having spoken with the engineer who has had the garage's report, he said he didn't think the cost was going to be that close.(ie to write off value). I'm hoping when I can get an educated value then maybe your suggestion may be explored. Simon:D :D
  10. Hello to all, I am looking for some help please guys. I smacked up my car (see thread: kerb monster) on Monday 29 December 2003. My car has been taken to a garage to be fixed, and they initially have stated they will not write off the car, as it is fixable. Today I have received a call from my insurers engineer's dept. who inform me the garage where my car has been taken is not skilled enough to fix my car. "Do I know anyone who can do this?" They are looking to offer me cash to fix the car, but I need to get the car delivered to someone with the facilities and know-how to do this. I would obviously like to do this as locally to me as possible. (Hemel Hempstead junc 8 on M1) Estimated damage: Near rear wheel smashed - all relevant suspension gone too, Rear axle and diff will need replacing as well I have been advised. Is there anyone out there, who can or knows someone who can do this for me? As this has gone on for so long, I'm getting a bit desperate, as this is my only transport, and the insurance company want the courtesy car back like yesterday!! Thanks for looking, Simon.
  11. I have expanded this map off the back off a business card. I hope it helps you find it. Once you have turned right by the pub follow the road for half a mile and the turning you need is on the right, one hundred yards before the road goes over the motorway. Follow the road round to the right, it dog legs to the left, and the entrance is the furthest exit, up a steep rise and through some gates. Be careful if you bring the 300 out, if you go to fast ot grounds out considerably. "Popes Croft" is a large private house at the end of the driveway. (You continue straight down it) His yard is right at the end. Hope you find it okay, Simon:)
  12. Got my 1991 import from the same garage. Possibly a bit overpriced, and the sales services outweighs the after-sales service!!:D (In my opinion!!!:D :D ) Not so keen when things started to go wrong. My "warranty" started getting alarming holes as to what it would and wouldn't cover. Obviously a car 8 years younger will have less age related problems. Well worth a look if it's what your interested in. Company run by a guy called Ken. Located in Chipperfield near Watford and Hemel Hempstead. A bugger to find so if you need to get there let me know I'll post directions. Good hunting, Simon:)
  13. Neil, So far so good. RAC have been cooperative and are awaiting an assessors report on any separate damage caused by their transportation. There is some pressure coming from my insurers as well, as they use the RAC as their approved recoverers. I'll update you as and when it progresses. I hope you are regaining your confidence with your car again now. I've got this to go through when mine returns. I think traction control will have to be high on my future list of updates, although whether it could have stopped what happened to me is another matter...15mph forward, as I span sideways at what seemed a lot faster. Two and a half revolutions and two kerbs later........... well you know the rest Take care, Simon.
  14. Well guys fairly good result.:) They're not going to write it off, and are looking at replacing two, if not three of the alloys as well. (One I totally destroyed). The engineer has advised me depending on the price of the alloys they may offer me some alternatives that fit the car. I'm working on him now to see if I can pay the extra for a set I want.:D ;) Just waiting for a time scale now. Slight rubbing on underneath of sill to be repaired, and all suspension etc. from nearside rear, plus front and rear nearside wheels, and possibly rear offside alloy as well. Anyone else had to wait for something similar from their insurance (Norwich Union for me) and how long did it take? I expect someone out there has an idea how much new standard alloys for an import are as well. What sort of price am I looking at? Last thing to do now is find out how quickly I could get a set of 18" Azev A alloys with rubber. With luck quicker than they can get the parts:D Simon.
  15. Happy New Year to all. I won't be pushing the boat out too far. I'm saving up for my excess payment, and insurance renewal.:( Someone else have my share!! Simon:)
  16. Thanks guys. I am fully comprehensively insured (renewal in 22 days!!!) so I am getting them to look at it first. Collection due Friday pm. so I'll post results as soon as I have them. Simon.
  17. Oh what a wonderful year!!  My car has been bitten by the kerb monster. I wasn't even hoofing it. Wet road and diesel. No body damage visible however my near side rear is at 45 degrees, and the alloy is totally shattered. Off for guesstimate on Friday afternoon. No problem in picking car up from accident onto low loader, but because they had to drive it off at my home made an awful noise. I'm hoping they've not buggered the diff. Made a separate claim against RAC just incase. As the car is an import, do you guys ( and gals) have any idea of repair cost. Initial reaction from insurer was write off. If this is the case is it worth me buying it off them to repair myself? Wheel and suspension definately b*ggered, so that will include the HICAS I expect. All info gratefully received, Simon:( :( :(
  18. I'm up for this, so please invite me. Up until mid-Jan I'm stuck working weekends, but after that I'm working proper hours again!!   Simon:D :D
  19. Hi to all from Pinky Tofu Head!!!!!!!:D :D :D
  20. It covers Europe, but as most is produced outside this area, you can still expect loads! Simon.;)
  21. Sorry to hear your awful news. Glad you weren't hurt, and hope your car is fixed ASAP. You must be gutted. Simon:eek:
  22. I've been told its a CAT 1 toad alarm. Frightens felines and amphibians. I have no paperwork on it though, so will have to try and inspect it sometime tomorrow. Simon:)
  23. Still struggling. Tried removing the luggage bulb, and switching the cabin light off. Stops them flickering but still effects the alarm for some reason. The warning light is coming on in the dashboard. Not fitted anything new recently, however am having my doubts about the alarm. The auto closure has stopped working, so now I have to make sure the windows are shut before I leave. Not a problem in this weather.:D Driving around doesn't always work. It's just a question of being able to park up when they're not activated. Tried opening and shutting doors, which occasionally works and so makes me think it's a short somewhere. Otherwise all lights work normally as they should. Thanks for the help so far but if anyone has a brainwave please share it.:( :( Simon:confused:
  24. And finally: Simon. :D :D :D
