  1. look at the scene at 2:45 ,...... do you think he is hungry?
  2. thanx for that :-) i can't find my V5 though ...... DOH!!!!! i have gone in the first stages of tax and dvla accepted the status check (i still have valid MOT) however until i find the V5 i won;t be able to find out the exact date it runs out :-( bugger it
  3. cool thanx matey
  4. that is very nice of your neighbour :-) all i know (or have heard) about turbo timers with z's is that thay can be a pain in the arse. especially if you have an imobilizer as they can trip them off. another problem is if your imobilizer is set to kick in in 10,20,30 secs etc and your turbo timer wants atleast a minute before shutting down the imobilizer will cut dead the power and your car will turn off without the necessary cooling down. (this is what happens with mine) i need to find the PROPER way of wiring it into the system
  5. mind if i hop on your post? :-) i also have one in my car however it was wired wrong from previous owners and so it has been deactivated (something to do with tripping the immobilizer) if we could both get info here then we would most likely BOTH be greatful :-) do you already have one jonny? if so what make is it? i think mine was a bog standard cheapo
  6. brilliant so would going kwik fit (as much as i dont like them) as they have a cheap price be ok?
  7. ok got my MOT due, main headlight (drivers side) has blown so i know i will fail on that. apart from that where is a good place to take it? Is the local Kwik fit ok for MOT? is there anything i need to look out for? i have boosts solenoids unplugged with no boost controller so worrying if a little air leak sound will cause it to fail or effect the emissions. Also regarding my car i was told i have to make sure they do not carry out something regarding emissions. If they do this "thing" i was told to avoid i will end up paying the new tax rates. can someone clear up what i should be looking for in terms of my own car (something normal cars might miss) and in terms of the MOT. Is there anything i should make sure they DON'T carry out? cheers again all
  8. i'm on the fence for this one, I agree that everyone deserves a second chance. I didn't even know this user until i saw the clownpants thread. anyway, i believe that people make mistakes. looking at the thread that involves daves_zed i can see that he has sent all the parts which leads me to believe he should have his his thread open. However, seeing as there was no code (which i would expect to recieve) and no replies considering others got their replies this also leads me to believe that he should not have a thread opened until he proves he deserves one. On this basis i can only go on personal feelings (which is hard as i don't even know him) however as i wouldn't like being handled this way i personally would be cheesed off. on this basis i'm afraid i will have to say no purely to avoid this happening to myself or other members. But please note that although i am voting no, if at some point this user proves himself worthy (not sure how yet if he cannot sell) and a re-vote is summoned then i am all for reviewing the facts and possibly deciding yes
  9. andymeeson? :nelson: joking anyway andy has a nice zed and once he gets it back on the road it will be ace.......... if anything his car has less problems and dodgy shit in than mine :nana2:
  10. very good ck300z, we shall have to keep that post ongoing for the benefit of others. The ones i often get are the ones that take you to a bank website. Most of the time you can notice the link at the top is a server address even though they claim to be halifax etc. these copy the front pages of the banks sites to look more realistic. they take your online ID and password (if you fill it out) and then send you to the real website. Not only will they have your details but after dumping you to the real bank site you are left wondering if you logged in or not. what i do (only for a laugh) is where it asks for a accoutn number and password i get a bit rude... example: account number: asshole (even though it is meant to be number) Password: your a c**t and hey presto..... you have logged in........ this goes to show how fake these are aswell, no harm in trying these but only if yuo have top security as your IP can actually get traced.... firewall will protect you there. all in all i would avoid that unless you are annoyed or fancy trying something random. the scam is a very old one from what i have learnt... i have wikipedia'd the scam and even though it predates computers it has always been effective. here is the link below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Prisoner and for those who get email scams when it comes to selling your cars (i got these emails when i sold my BMW) look at the link below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance_fee_fraud a few businessmen who were looking to make a deal fell for this and severel men have flown over to africa or wherever the scammer is and are held ransom for money.
  11. he is aware of that :) however it was very nice of you to mention that anyway because it is actually very surprising how many people fall for these. I work for local government and i get 20 of these a day.... usually they have worse spelling or pronounciation however this one looks to be done very well. we should start a thread with all the emails that we recieve like this so other people are aware (members) i would start but i would have hundreds in no time. what do you think? would it use too much bandwidth on these servers? i ask because there are sights on the net that have the same thing that i am proposing to the forum and they seem to be very effective for the ...... not so savvy. :)
  12. can anyone help with providing the easiest way to get to these boost solenoids? I am looking to have a go at the weekend however i have been told a lot of disconnecting pipes (which might break) is needed first to be able to get to these. My question is.. is there any easier way? shame i cannot do it from underneath the car :( all solutions will be greatly appreciated so that i can get these put back in :)
  13. thankyou again santa for your help. managed to sort the car out.. got key out which inturn, untripped the immobiliser (which i think was what happened) changed PTU and car would not start... santa fiddled with the plugs and found out they were a bit dodgy. a quick fiddle got the car started. now i am going to just clean the connectors and insulate a bit more and should be good to go :-)
  14. also,,,, is there any reasons why the PTU S2 would cause an earth or blow fuses? not enough insulation? or was the PTU buggered........... ?
  15. ok i will try the circuit breaker. where about is it located if yo don't mind :-) i have rang MJP regarding fuse links just now and they are cheap.
  16. seeing as my problem last night occured (post hmmmmmmmmmmm) i have again tried to get some luck getting the keys out. I have noticed that the battery still sparks when you connect the connections so there must be power in the battery. but trying every buttopn and switch in the car returns no results.... hoping a fuse has blown but surely there are multiple fuses and i should have some form of basic functions e.g overhead lights, etc. could it be that i have blown all the fuses to have absolutely no function.... as it stands the zed is dead. is there a master fuse that distributes power to the smaller fuses? i am severly hoping so
  17. not that i could see but seeing as it happened after changing it, maybe something i missed. was resting next to fuse box. maybe as it is close to car metal in engine bay...............
  18. didnt see one but bonnett was down. just recall dash lights and door lights dieing
  19. OMG thats bad to hear matey...... glad to hear everything is ok. hate to think what the damage looked like on his. good thing these zeds have fairly strong arses. wouldn't of liked to see the same thing head on. hopefully this will get fixed soon and hope you and your son are ok
  20. ok well whilst i at work i will get some insulation tape. i did mention it didnt have any near the clips of the PTU but after explaing i would like to hear her just start up i was told she would be fine........ so either the second hand PTU i got from a member is faulty or i should have waited till i bought insulation tape tomorow :-( if the PTU that i paid for did earth out will it be damaged? if so i guess i will have to put the S! PTU back in and buy another >.
  21. whats the worst impact of a short? am i highly looking at loads of cash to fork out on?
  22. ok matey cheers for that. i think i will just go to bed and try not to worry.
  23. now i am disheartened.... should of left the s1 PTU on there :-( now i have probably killed the zed.............. need to take my mind off as i have spent all night on this car and now getting stressed
  24. don;t have spare key and window is down slightly.... hope it dont rain
