could it possibly be the ECU naff?

yes, i will do :-) unfortunately even though it is still full the noiser fan is still cuttign in rather a lot :-( my car passing it's Mot looks slim this month considering -still smells of over fueling -one bulb has blown (not replaced as i dont drive at night) -Fan cuts in alot -still have a boost leak which might be playing around with the overfueling. -passenger seat belt does not go all the way back properly don't even know what else could be wrong... /sigh

maybe... hmmmmmmmmm well yesterday after topping it up i drove to southend and i was also stuck in traffic for 1.5 hours. After spending some time down there I returned to the car and checked the levels….. it was still full. If I had a leak do you think that it only leaked on water? Maybe because anti freeze is thicker it wont leak? Has not leaked so far. Guess I will have to inspect some more………….. shame it’s MOT this month :-(

update: looked at radiator yesterday and a week ago it was full (granted the bloke before me used water) however yesterday it took about 2 litres or diluted anti freeze to fill up ........... OOOOOOHHH EEEEEEEERRRRRRR! i have checked it after a drive and again today and it seems to of kept its amount.... Was it because it had water it evaporated?

been reading this off another post as i am having a very similar problem. every morning on its first run i start the car up fine and start to drive off fine. 5 minutes into the drive the revs start dipping to almost 0 every time i press the accelerator pedal. After another 5 minutes it seems to stop for the rest of the day... it is very annoying as it often stalls. My car was sorted with santa's help and we stopped it smelling of fuel from the exhaust and looked at some various fuel pipes to tighten. But i have noticed the car smells of over fueling again since this problem has started. organising holiday so have not replaced jubillee clips for (possible) boost leaks however is there anything else apart from the list up top i should look for?

also my father sold me an SLR nikon D70s... 350-500 quid second hand still........... 200 quid and he has used it 3 times and upgraded. now i am learning to take proffesional RAW pictures and i must say..... i am very excited.. will post up on my return

might meet you out there .. were off to visit the greek islands on thursday. Crete for 3 days, then in santorini for 2 night then back to crete for another 4 nights. 3 different hotels but should make it interesting ... i hope its nice as my last two experiences on the greek islands Rhodes and Kos were very hot

yes i think you are right. 1. my car does wierd things. 2. the ecu has been tampered with in the past 3. I have engine hesitation at higher speeds. maybe most of my problems are the ecu :-(

also........ should it be coming on at 70- 90 mph considering the cold air that is hitting the car, i wondered if my front mounted intercooler being in the way effected the cooling

thats what i wondered i was just asking if it was normal as it is doing it more often now and i never heard it on my other 300zx and so i was worried. seeing as my temp gauge keeps dropping i was just wondering if that is related and if i should be worried

thats what i was worried about however it isn't stuck on. it seems to disengage when it (what i think) cools down. but it certainly does get to a certain speed as it follows the revs quite high up

well assuming the one i can see is running all the time it will be the other one... it is loud enough (when on) that when i rev it is as loud as the engine and i'm sure others can hear it
