  1. i have had the car about 3 months. my Aircon unit was taken out apparentely but i do not know myself. what does the aircon unit look like and where is it placed?
  2. brilliant thinking :-) now im going to take half day annual leave and get some chalk :smash:
  3. just wish i could add some food colouring to get a proper colour and tell the difference :rofl::rofl:
  4. yes it was dry before all over the dipstick reading (no oil) and yes it is wet now as i have put 5 litres in however the dipstick is silver colour and the fluid is clear so i cannot actually tell how high it is as it all runs to the bottom and creates a drip.
  5. i can only see that it comes from under the car at the rear of the engine... My car is lowered and so i could only just about get my head under the gap and a tray to collect what was leaking. unfortunately i cannot go in anymore to find out the exact cause (hence a ramp) i will start her up to see if it gushes out
  6. also will the car be ok to drive? i have a small leak when stationary but will it lose all my water when under pressure? only reason is santa is going to have a look with me tonight and i am taking it to someone or a friend he knows and wondered if it will be ok to drive
  7. thanks si, i do appreciate your info however i am on a tight budget this month with the tax and car parts. but if i do not get help by next payday then i will take it to him.
  8. need to find someone with a compressor and a boost leak tester. i can find the tester but do not have a compressor. would like to find someone who can check (for a third opinion) of a few pipes that are disconnected and possibly explain how i can reconnect them. did take pictures but hard to see the pipes other than good old fashion head searching
  9. ok cool :)
  10. cheers for the tip matey :) all i do know is that on cold and hot the gearbox dipstick didnt even have fluid touch the bottom of the dipstick. It took 5 litres however because i cant see the level i don;t know how full or overfilled it is i will try your kitchen roll trick
  11. cheers for the tip :) got aftermarket rad cap (nismo) i did slightly overfill it in the past as i also filled the expansion (won't do that again) however got none of the other symptoms at all. on a side note though if it was the expansion from where it is hot weather would that be dripping towards front of engine? p.s i have not driven since filling up last night and the radiator fluid under the cap has gone down so i am presuming it is a pipe at the rear of engine just a shame i cannot fix myself as the car is lowered and cannot get under it. now i need to find someone with a ramp to check it out :-)
  12. hmmmm i just wish i could tell how high the fluid was :-(
  13. ahhh...... i was under the impression i could do it when cold as the dip stick has a different level for cold. ok as my car has taken 5 litres will it be ok to run to temperature? the dipstick was dry as a bone before putting in 5 litres (hopefully the only reason my gear changes were late)
  14. the other day my car lefta huge puddle on the car park (about a cup full of water) i did notice the radiator had lost some fluid and so last night when i filled up my empty autobox with ATF and filled the rad up i noticed that the car was dripping fluid on the ground from behind the engine. At first i though it was the autobox and that it made sense why my autobox had no fluid however last night i left a tray under the drip to see what it is this morning i have now checked and it was water... i am glad for the gearbox however now i have to find a leak! the amount of water that had dripped overnight was thankfully only enough to fill the equivalent of a coke bottle lid. question is........ what pipe could this be leaking from and is it easy to fix?
  15. my Autobox was changing gears rather late without crunching or grinding and so have taken the chance to look at the fluid in the box............. NOTHING! yesterday i bought 5 litres of comma ATF to see if the car will make a difference and it all went in the box however i have gone to measure the box this morning and where the comma ATF fluid is a see through (ish) red and i am colour blind i cannot tell how high it is on the dipstick..... any ideas?
  16. the fella at zedcentre went through a walkthrough of the car over the phone as i mentioned about this problem with the car hesitation under full boost. i mentioned that the car has hoses come from the front of the car to near where the actuators go (or boost solenoids) except they are not plugged in. First he mentioned what my pipe looks like and i explained that the two vac pipes went from the turbo pipes each side of the engine. He said i should find a cylinder that is horizontal to the engine on each side of the engine. mine are not there... so i have no cylinders (which are are inch in diameter and inch and half long) and no boost solenoids plugged on. I did mention the car hard boost jets and he said it could be apart of the boost jet technique as to why they are thrown away. he said this could be the cause of the problem but i will show you the pictures later when i finish work. He said someone might have some knackered engines and these should still be on the old engines so i should try to find them from members or traders.
  17. i am going to take some pictures of the recirc valves and the side of the plenum where i am missing the cylinders that control boost (these have a 2 pin connector) seems mine are missing which can be resulting in my boost problem. if i take a picture later can someone compare it to their TT engine?
  18. sorry to jump on thread but so that me and original poster can find this kit can you point us to a link? :hyper:
  19. i'm not sure if it the same fella as i am crap with names but he was very helpful and told me the things i need to do. i will be ringing him again this week and will make a point of remembering name :)
  20. hi 300_zedx, thank you for this info i will give it a go :)
  21. Spoke to a nice gentleman at zcentre he went through the engine over the phone. he said it sounds like i am missing an electrical unit that sits horizontally to the engine near the turbos and is cylinder shaped. he said i need to find these replacements however he also asked me to check for the recirculation valves under the head light panel. can someone show me what these look like and wether they are there? he said if i had the original air filter box it would of been under that
  22. its empty!!! would explain the gearbox changing gears naff. need to buy 7.5 litres but castrol only sell 1ltre bottles at 8 quid each >. saw 5 lirtes for 20 quid but it is called Comma Automatic Transmission Fluid 5L from halfords.... is this ok?
  23. NO shifting????????? WTF!!!!!
