  1. Gwyneth Dunwoody - Chair of the House of Commons transport commitee. Ken Livingstone - London Mayor and responsible for congestion charging. Our leader - Gordon Brown. What do they all have in common??
  2. And an easy to remember one is COAST.. Concentration Observation Anticipation Space Time (keeping space around you gives you time to react) Sticking to speed limits means you wont get caught by thoses nasty Camera Partnership people, but unfortunately that doesn't make us safer as the static fatality rates prove, despite all the Millions of speeding tickets issued. Reason : Only 7% of collisions have excessive speed recorded as a contributory factor, and some of those are excessive speed under the limit. 93% of collisions happen due to not concentrating and poor observation, and Camera scum don't target that. These are Police stats not mine!
  3. Or if you want to go a bit wider you could try these, I've been using similar for months with no probs. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALLOY-WHEEL-SPACERS-TOYOTA-SUPRA-MR2_W0QQitemZ230178129868QQihZ013QQcategoryZ122154QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. I thought all alloys were soft? They have to be made to pass British Standards don't they? At that price you could prang them, throw them away and get some more! Bargain, I'm thinking about buying these now!
  5. Does anyone know of any places that repair dents in alloy wheels, based in the South West/ Somerset area? Cheers :)
  6. Yampie, I called them but they can't supply that wheel anymore! Thanks for the tip though.
  7. Thanks Yampie, I'll check that out and post back :)
  8. Thanks Steve, but Ive looked there already! They don't even list 300zx on the Nissan drop down menu. The 18's they have are the wrong pdc and offset. 10 quid drink still up for grabs :)
  9. Let's hope the garage is right then. I had that problem once years ago when a core plug popped on a Rover SD1, it pissed water straight through, cost about 30p to fix tho :)
  10. I couldn't find them on Wheelmania. There's a Ten quid drink via paypal to anyone that gives me a link which leads to me buying one! :)
  11. Excellent thanks chaps  That's a link to my car too - TonyC's old one! Now to see if Hijoin147's are still made..
  12. I'm after One wheel to replace my scuffed one, they're only a year old but they've been discontinued already. It's an AXE147 (8x18" 5-114 35). I know there are wheels that look identical by another manufacturer, but does anyone know what they're called or where to find one? Thanks for help!
  13. Jesus you are 1 lucky guy!! One of the most common collisions is overtaking across the face of a junction, and the car pulling out of the junction ahead to your right (turning left towards you) usually only looks right before pulling out, then bang - head on! Sounds like that junction needs central bollards either side of it to prevent overtaking there. Be good if you could pay back your good luck by pushing the council into doing something before someone else is killed there.
  14. Had Toyo T1R's on my RX, pretty good grip but would squeel a little under very heavy braking. The stickiest tyre I know is the Bridgestone which also has the stickiest ratings if you read independent reviews.
  15. Nice story, the biggest mistake many people make in those circumstances is hitting the brake pedal, which then pulls them straight into the central barrier.
  16. Car had Khumo's when I bought it and handling was terrible. Just changed to Bridgestone SO2's and now handles miles better. £600 a set though but that's not alot more than you'll pay for mid range tyres and deffo worth it.
  17. Great story! Going back to the Zed, I nearly bid on it but it was too far to go, one hell of a bargain if the spray job was good and the engines ok, PK1 was always doing something to that car so very well looked after! Take the ironing board off the boot and spray the bonnet, roof and bumpers and it's a 5K car if mechanics are good.
  18. Two beautiful cars, but the Ferrari 355 wins for drop dead gorgeous looks imo. I could pull up a chair and stare at that for hours! They aint slow either, there's one around here that I have some fun with (53cox) and it's neck and neck with the Zed, 0-60 is about 4.5 and standing 1/4 in 13 sec. Amazing road presence when you're following it and a truly awesome sound!!
  19. Most Zeds are autos and are slow 0-20, but after that as quick as manuals IMO. I've had loads of burn ups with scoobys, it just depends what mods they've got, a good sti and there wont be anything in it. My Zed (auto swb) has basic mods - decat, filter, chip, 1 bar boost, and regularly holds its own with Ferraris and porkers. Last Sunday had a good burn with a DB9 which was fun, but a stock Zed would have been killed. BTW, have you driven rear wheel drive before? If not take it easy :)
  20. I would expect the air con to be working too if it wasn't mentioned, so I think he's got a get out there to be honest. You could always contact second bidder? Be wary of leaving neg unless you dont mind getting one back, sometimes it just aint worth it. Forget it, relist it or stick it on pistonheads, you might get more this time round.
  21. Russ, decat is a must, you don't want that heavy furnace burning hot under your car and costing you power! 1 bar is 14.5 psi yeah, at the mo yours is scooby type speeds so you need to decat and chip and fit a boost controller to beat those buggers. Yes I'm on stock turbos and injectors, apparently they're ok for 1 bar boost but decatting can cause turbo oil seal probs, my turbos smoke a bit if left idling for 5 mins but it's been doing that since 2002 according to the owner back then and they're still going strong, so not a prob!
  22. Hey Russ, it was ADZ 194, my black SWB auto... and they all say manwells are faster ;) I was out for a spin to run in my new tyres, just stuck 4 SO2's on this afternoon and handling is miles better than the old Khumo's. Saw you ahead and thought I hope he boots it down the DC, never had a Z to Z burn up before lol. Yours didn't sound too loud from behind btw, looks good, but your inner brake lights were permanently on, have they been wired up as fogs? ADZ is pretty standard apart from the usuall decat zorst and air filter. It's got a JDM 'Club' ECU though and running 1 bar boost which is why I passed you, glanced across and you were laughing lol. Probably see you around anyway! :D
  23. Looks good in those pics. Is there any chance he MOT'd it early for 12 mnths but forgot to put the paperwork in with the receipts and stuff? Are people really that stupid/cheeky to advertise 12 mnths when they know it only has 2? You could try checking it out here : http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/
  24. My zorst was straight thru so I did the same thing two weeks ago, just added a couple of small boxes and welded tail pipes back on. Muffles the sharp bark nicely. If your interested Jetex supply any size you want, mine were about £40 each.
