Might be time to throw in the towel.
Thanks Jock, and to Rich and to everyone else for their kind words on this thread and PM's sent. I've made some really good friends through this club and it's times like this when you realise there are people there and you're not alone. Easy to forget sometimes. Gives you the strength to carry on and not get out before the rush so to speak. B@stard painkillers stopped working 10 mins ago but just necked a couple more...as a man more learned than me once said though, "I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me.";)

That woman posing on Mac's car.....
Hurrah! A pic! That's cheered me right up! :D Crikey, one mistimed cough and the one on the left will be making a bid for freedom...:D

Might be time to throw in the towel.
My thought go out to your mom mate...it's a b@stard of a thing to have and you're right, the doctors don't know a helluva lot about it and most lay people haven't even heard of it! If I have to have an op, I have to have it, but after the 10 "resections" I've already had there's a serious chance another one could mean having my food delivered through a tube for the rest of my life which I sure as hell don't want! You want to hear some sad irony? The gastro surgeon that did all my ops since I was a nipper till just over 2 years ago, a guy that I counted as a real friend, who without his expertise I wouldn't be here writing this after the 7th surgery turned out to be a lot more difficult than anyone anticipated (death? Ha! Been there, done that...for all of 30 odd seconds ;))...he died at the start of this year from Bowel Cancer. Really makes you wonder sometimes.

The really peverse thing is, despite the cr@p I've gone through and still have ahead I still think of myself as "lucky". If it wasn't for the Crohn's I wouldn't be the person I am today...and I kinda like that person (even if he is too skinny for his own feckin good! ;))

It is now OFFICIAL!
Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back ;) Does that make sense or is it the drugs? Lol! :D

It is now OFFICIAL!

Can relate to that bud. The immuno suppressants I'm on are almost as bad as the disease itself! Thanks guys.

Might be time to throw in the towel.
Think I'm going to have to admit defeat and go into hospital. For those that don't know, I've got Crohns pretty badly and am sat here able to type, pain free for the first time today (Morphine patch and Pethidine'd up to the hilt...thank you Mr Controlled drugs manufacturer) but knowing it's only going to last 2-3 hours before it all comes back. I HATE going into fVcking hospital (I miss being on here for a start, Lol!). Would've gone in on Friday but with the weekend looming it's the last place I wanted to be...I call it the Deadzone...skeleton staff, a cast iron guarantee that nothing will be done till Monday and junior doctors that our more likely to fVck things up than help. Really hope I don't have to have another op. Racked up 10 to date and there isn't much left in me to remove TBH! Really need a break from the pain as there's only so much I can manage here at home...could do the injections and set up the IV drip myself but they get a bit funny about the DIY approach! It's been a 17 year struggle with this and I'm just tired and had enough of it all at the moment..sorry for offloading on here folks, I'm usually remorselessly optimistic about things! Leigh.

Can you get a front Splitter for the Z32?
Just had a trawl through my bodykit "database" and aside from the Stillen splitter, the only other two I found are made by Abflug and Kaminari: And the Kaminari one is more of an "over-lip" than a proper splitter. TBH the Zed could do with a good quality, race look, functional FG/carbon splitter...I think I might have to get my arse into gear and design and make one! ;) Leigh.

Trusted Importers?
I used neweraimports and got myself an absolute cracker of a Zed. Miguel, the main guy in Japan, really knows his stuff and goes out of his way to be helpful. Although the UK end of the business was very slow on the uptake when I dealt with them I'd still highly recommend using newera. HTH Leigh

Outside trim question.
Blimey, return of the living thread! Cheers Si, but if you check out my journal I found a good way to do this in the end...and my Zed's now with Steve at Bodywork Plus so it's all being finished off nicely ;) RS200TEZ: they do come off, they just need a bit of persuasion! Just be careful you don't snap the clips holding them in ;)

Those Ferrari replica kits.....someone's butchered an NSX!!
Yeah, remember that. The one for the Toyota MR2 Mk2. Ferrari made them discontinue it...though I think a few other companies made some moulds and are still selling them on the sly ;)

Er...swimming against the tide but...I quite like it! Always wanted an NSX myself and if I had one I wouldn't do that but blimey...those guys REALLY have made a great job of it! :D

You sure it will fit mate? Fooking unlikey
In all honesty it depends who's made the fibreglass item in question mate. I recently spent almost a grand buying a non-300zx specific fibreglass kit to be customised onto my Zed. Although I couldn't gauge how well it fitted, being made as it was for another car, the quality of the finish was astounding. It was lightweight, with no ripples or imperfections in the hand layed FG and they'd even bothered to retro-fit return flanges. The company in question: Veilside. And it was an original not a copy. Without going into specifics it really does matter where you buy your kit/parts from. A copy might be cheaper (and unfortunately sometimes the only option if the manufacturer has stopped making the original) but unless it's done well it can bring you a whole heap of trouble. Reading about your fitment problems, I know you're far from on your own in experiencing difficulties mate :x: Hope you get it sorted ok :) Leigh.

New colour
I know distance can be a problem...but the reputation he has amongst the exotic/classic community for quality work means that he's had customers bring their cars from as far afield as Holland to be sorted by him ;)

New colour
I'm in exactly the same boat mate and all I can say is, whatever colour you eventually decide to go with, make sure you take your car to Steve at Bodywork Plus (trader on here). Seriously, I have NEVER seen such quality of work anywhere else, and that's the truth. Like you, I'm going for a full colour change respray and TBH I wouldn't trust my beloved Zed with anyone else! (Plus...and I can't go into detail as I don't want to jinx anything as it's not finalised yet...but Steve's got some VERY exciting things in the pipeline regarding paint...you guys on here will be one of the first to hear about it if it all goes to plan ;)) Leigh.

Whos the UK ALSA rep
Er...not entirely sure! :)

Examples of interiors and installs - any good sites?
Thanks for that mate :)
-
Examples of interiors and installs - any good sites?
Individual examples, yes. Sites that have comprehensive images of quality interiors and installs, no. I'd like to see how people have developed their own designs with regards to installs but to be honest I'm more interested in seeing how designers have approached the interior as a whole, particularly in high end cars, from the little things like the stitching on the leather seats through to more obvious features like the sculptured shapes of the trim.

Examples of interiors and installs - any good sites?
I've been trawling Google for the past couple of days but haven't found anything decent yet. :( Will keep searching!

Whos the UK ALSA rep
Company in the U.S.that manufactures cutting edge paint: flips, pearls, chrome, heat reactive, textured etc. etc. ;)

Whos the UK ALSA rep
Steve (Bodywork Plus) is in contact with Alsa Corp. Might be worth getting in touch with him mate ;)

Examples of interiors and installs - any good sites?
Does anyone know of any good sites with pics of car interiors/installs? I'm in the middle of drawing up a few designs at the moment and could use a bit of inspiration! Examples of audio installs and modified or high end car interiors would be great if someone can point me in the right direction :) Cheers, Leigh.

Respray and Carbon Bonnet?
My own opinion...leave the CF bonnet but still get the respray ;)
