Which DVD or Hard Disc Recorder?
My gut feeling is to go with a cheapy DVD recorder to solve our immediate problem (family member appearing on BBC2, hence the need to record the event! Lol! :)) and then look for a decent HD unit afterwards...Hmmmm....And I'll be honest, I know bugger all about Tivo! :D

Which DVD or Hard Disc Recorder?
Looking at buying a DVD or hard disc recorder as soon as possible. Was wondering what people think are the best models to go for? Cheers, Leigh

Anyone recommend a car transporter in the Midlands area?
Cheers for the response guys, very muchos appreciated! (lol@Stella! :D ;)) Its going from Bodywork Plus: Unit 65 Sapcote Trading Estate Powke Lane Cradley Heath B64 5QR to my home address in Shirley, Solihull. Mr Bunny, if you don't mind asking them that would be perfick as I need to move it as soon as possible so we can get on with the engine (preferably early next week) :D And Smithy, what a crackin' idea. Didn't even think of Jeff! Nice one :D

Anyone recommend a car transporter in the Midlands area?
Need to move my currently engine-less Z so looking for a reliable company in the Midlands with a flatbed to do the job. Preferably one that's suitable for lowered cars (even without the engine there could be loading and unloading issues...). If anyone could recommend a company I'd be grateful. Cheers, Leigh.

Overdrawn
Just managed to clear my (£2000) overdraft last week. But that's all probably about to go to hell in a handbasket with bits for the car. Plus I went to see the bank today to discuss a £7000 loan to consolidate my credit cards (with a fair bit left for emergencies)...£1470 on top to pay back (before interest) for optional loan protection (which was made to seem obligatory at first by the advisor)!! Stroll on!!

Attention amateur film makers!
Well, if there are any on here I hope I've now got your attention ;) The first three songs off my first album ("A Muzzle For The Masses" by The Few) are about to get their first outing on the internet soon, as they're being used by the producer I'm working with to showcase his new studio and his talent on his forthcoming website. This is just the start of the "big push". Aside from ramming CD's down the necks of various A&R people throughout the country and performing live, I've got to sort out the now obligatory Myspace thang (a feat in itself for a Luddite like me ;)) and ideally it would be great to get a video(s) together for one or 2 of the tracks. I'm friendly with a girl who runs her own internet news station, who's also in the music industry (singer, recorded with Gav at Magic Garden) and who apparently now shoots videos for unsigned bands but thought it would be worth seeing if there's anybody on here who fancied having a pop? Could be a hoot and an interesting addition to your portfolio ;) Ta muchly. As you were. ;)

Yup, left by the Dharma Initiative. I'm pretty sure the "Others" aren't Dharma. They may be using the D.I.'s hatches and equipment on the islands but they're something else entirely...:)

Still quite enjoying this but do find it infuriating at times as the writers are REALLY stringing it out now. Any theories folks? I'm thinking the islands are in a future where the human race is severely fVcked and the women can't give birth (well, without both mother and child dying anyway). The "Others" have found a rift in the space/time continuummuummuumm thingy situated in the mid-Atlantic (above and below the sea...in the last episode the flashback said the journey was "rough" hence the use of a specially designed sub rather than a plane that would have a terminal engine failure/break up, if it passed through). They've brought a selection of scientists from our time period (their past) to try to cure the malaise. The islands special properties probably generate or have a symbiotic relationship with the rift, hence the Dharma researchers using it (they may have even created it, accidentally or otherwise). Also, remember the files they had on Jack, Kate etc.? They were pretty big and I'm thinking they don't just contain information on their lives up till they crashed, but their lives if they'd continued without going through the rift...just a few thoughts, all probably hopelessly wrong! Either way, I'm going to stick it out to see how it resolves! :D

VK45DE i know !!!!!!!!
Hope our chat on the phone helped James. Legraths post is pretty spot on. It all depends how far you want to take it. It can be done on a bare minimum but I personally wouldn't go down that route. Do it once, do it well ;) And the offer of bringing in a decent, good quality VH is open any time you need to take it up mate, just give me a bell. I have reputable shipping/clearance companies already in place so it's all pretty painless :)

Lexx on YouTube
Just read the thread about "V" (which never really interested me as a show TBH). For those that like their sci-fi on the weird side (with an unhealthy brain fixation and more than a spot of raunch thrown in for good measure), some kind souls are posting the different series' of Lexx on YouTube (I'm led to believe they've now stopped selling them on DVD?). Worship in His Divine Shadow etc etc... Enjoy. :wack:

Does anyone make a front bumper like this?
Pk1 was going to make one before he bought a Lotus instead. Not sure how far he got in the design stage though.
