MOT Pass!
...with nothing more than a new headlight bulb needed. Wouldn't care but I checked all the lights on Sunday! Mind I should hope it passed with the money I've spent this week! Timing belt kit, full service, new plugs and Jocks old aircon compressor fitted on Monday. Two new Toyo Proxes on the back yesterday. Gonna try to get aircon re-gassed at the weekend. if that works then its all set for summer! Just the speed sensor, throttle bodies, TPS, body work and interior to worry about now! David

fog lights
I know this has all been covered a million times before but I cant find what I'm looking for.. MOT time looming and I'm a bit concerned about the reverse light conversion on my import. I'm not sure its going to class as a fog light to any one with eyes in their head! Thinking of doing the inner brake light conversion and having both reverse lights again. Sure I saw a wiring diagram for that conversion posted here once but can find it . Anyone know where to look? Cheers David

Is there a 'how to' on this anywhere? Or is it so simple I shouldn't have to ask! :o David

Air con recharge
My car is going in for a timing belt service on Monday and to get a replacement compressor fitted (thanks Jock!). Thinking I should be getting this kit fitted to. Guess I may have left it too late now to get hold of it for Monday. Where do you get these kits from? How much do they cost? Cheers David

Payout
Late last summer I got 3700 for a 90 import NA Auto so I agree that you should be looking for more. I had to sit with a big pile of autotrader adds and work up from the 1700 they wanted to start at  Good luck David

good zed spotting on north east coast
No problem. Looks like we've got a 300zx neighbourhood watch going on! :) At least I know not to drop any of your mates in it for the next couple of weeks if I see it going sideways round roundabouts ...again :D

good zed spotting on north east coast
Been a fantastic roof off sort of weekend up north. Used my weeks quota of optimax in two days! :) Didn't see anyone on Saturday but three on Sunday. A silver convertible - really nice, first one I've ever seen. Heading down towards the coast at tynemouth around lunchtime. A bit later on, a red zed at Cullercoats. Friendly waves off both :) Anyone here? This evening saw PHatty prowling the coast at Whitley Bay but I was on my mountain bike at the time. Tried to overtake to get the best road kill ever but dispite the traffic couldn't quite catch him! David

Intermittent Power Steering
well, I been having a look - what a sh1tty day for working under a car! Should the black inner bit be completely flush with the metal collar? Mine is proud by maybe a couple of mm. Doesn't want to move though. cheers David

Intermittent Power Steering
Well, if there is a chance it can be sorted by refitting the speed sensor, I will give that a go first. Was there a picture somewhere showing the location of it?

Intermittent Power Steering
Have a problem with my power steering. At low speeds it occasionally (but increasingly often) just cuts out. The other symptom I have – which from previous posts I’ve seen I guess is linked – is that at speeds any less than about 20mph my speedo needle just drops to zero. Is this most likely to be speed sensor or kph to mph converter thing playing up? If it’s the speed sensor, is there likely to be a magic contact cleaning type fix or is it another credit card job?? Cheers David

A face to a name
Hello! Yes, hi PHatty. Was good to meet at last! Bit slow to reply but haven't been on line much. Your car is looking good after all its adventures! Jealous of your '99 front - well smart. Chatted quite a bit about zeds but it occured to me afterwards I didn't introduce myself! Its David by the way!

Hi Gav, try http://www.courtesyparts.com/ wish I'd known, just ordered a cam belt kit today! Thanks for the garage tip, popped up and had a chat. Your car is in good hands I think. If you're putting an order in could you get me a black 300 key blank? I forgot when I put my order in. Cheers David

Don't know if this link has been posted before but kind of makes you think twice about excesive speeds ...or at least think twice about f$%king up at excessive speeds! especially in a forest! http://forums.audiworld.com/other/msgs/2478782.phtml

Morrisons Car wash Jarrow Red Z
Nope, not me. I was out in the boring car today. Sounds like it might have been PHatty, I think his has BBS alloys. Mines got stock wheels. Actually, there is another black zed lives just round the corner from me. Thats also got BBSs on it. Might have been him. Hope the one your looking at isn't another black one! ;) David

Morrisons Car wash Jarrow Red Z
There was a red zed outside Pacific Bar in town on Saturday (and my black one parked just along the road) Nice oval tailpipes on it. PHatty, is yours all fixed up now? I drove past the A1 on the autopark just the other day. They had a nice looking skyline in there. David
