Certainly would be interested in hearing how you get on. How much does the postage work out at? David

Buying a 300zx...
Hi, Well, you've come to the right place now. There is loads of info in these forums. A good place to start is the buyers guide here . Well worth checking out the cars for sale section for well cared for examples. Good luck and enjoy! David

Scarab query
I'm thinking of getting a zcentre scarab front. I was wondering, do the original splash guards still fit properly to a scarab? Cheers David

New S.steel Zorsts
Hi Stephen. Where abouts in the toon are you? I'll keep an eye out for you. Tending to drive my other car a bit more at the moment so if you see someone in a silver Galant flashing and waving that'll be me forgetting I'm in the wrong car! David

key codes
OK, cheers for the advice folks. I think I'll take my chances with a key cutting place. If it doesn't work, the tenner I paid for the blank is only going to be a drop in the ocean compared to the money I've wasted on that car  On the subject of locks, how difficult is it to replace the entire set of locks on a zed? My driver door doesn't match the rest of them. Its a minor niggle but wouldn't mind sorting it with a full set of locks if its easy enough. Cheers David

key codes
Seem to remember reading that its the profile of the blank rather than the cutting that makes the difference between a valet and a normal key. Is that not the case? I've left the blank in the car so I can't compare them at the moment! David

key codes
I finally got round to popping into my local main dealer to get my new key blank cut. They told me they can't retrieve my key code as my car is an import and they only link into the uk systems. Anyone else encountered this or are they just being awkward? I would just go and get it cut at a normal key cutting place but my current (valet) key is a bit bendy and I'm concerned I would end up with a shiny new key that doesn't actually work! Cheers David

Thick Question
mine stays on all the time. Any ideas what could cause that?

Throttle cable
I guess that means that the accelerator cable should be attached to the larger cam? I'm sure mine is on the smaller one too. Think I'll pop out to the carpark and have a look!

tyre pressure for standard Z tyres
Is the same true of jap imports with the narrower rear wheels? I think its trying to tell me 2.5 bar rear and 2.2 front but my japanese isn't that hot and I've no idea how bar translates to PSI! Cheers David

noisy steering wheel!!
just had a thought. The clicking noise is very like the sort of noise the steering lock makes when it engages. Does anyone know how that works? Does it have anything to do with the wheel/boss itself? Cheers David

noisy steering wheel!!
A while back I fitted a Momo Tuner wheel. As mine is an NA without cruise I got a bog standard momo boss to go with it. Everything works fine (and looks pretty damn good) but occasionally it makes a really loud noise when I'm turning the wheel. It sounds like its to do with the indicator cancellation switch or something but the click is way to loud and it feels like something is going to get broken! Anyone encountered this before? Cheers David

Idle Control Valve

Idle Control Valve
Ah, good thinking! Will any rubber hosing do the job or do I need to visit nissan? Any idea what sort of diameter? Cheers David

Idle Control Valve
Well, I decided to have a go at cleaning this this weekend. Didn't even manage to get the bloody thing off the car! Any top tips on how to do this? I've found a nice link on how to clean it once you have it in you hands but I couldn't even get any of the hoses off it! There is a hell of a lot of very brittle looking wiring loom around there - I managed to break one small clip on the loom in the process  . Do you have to dismantle much stuff to get to this? Will probably have another look at it next weekend and allow a bit more daylight for the job. Any advice very welcome! Cheers David

Hi-res quality zed pics needed
I think the scenery is probably better than my zed but in silouette she looks just fine :) Can send the high res ones through if its the sort of thing you're after. There are a couple more in my rides too. David http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/1890/holyIsl4.jpg

Where is your car and why?
In the car park, looking fine. Sun is shining ...and look at the time! Time to get the roof off I think

Yeah, that was me :D slung up on grass at a rakish angle. Park there when the car park is full - again! The security guards can keep an eye on it there! David

Z32 prices
Yup, thats the one. It is a nice interior ...but thats a hell of a lot of money for an NA! Must admit, when I was looking at it they were asking 6k and I didn't really give it much attention. I certainly didn't drive it or hear it running. If you're serious I could possibly pop in and have a look. I'm no engineer but I could compare it to mine Sure you could get a nice twin turbo for that money, or a choice of NAs and still have change after getting an interior of your choice fitted! David

Z32 prices
It wasn't at performance cars at Seaham, it was at a place on the other side of Durham near Bear Park. ...although I do think it might be the same car! A firend of mine mentioned it. On the whole I thought it looked quite clean. Its main distinguising feature the the fact that one of the retractable mirrors had been glued on though! How much are they asking for it? David

Yellow Z, Arnison Car Park, Co Durham
You're right Jester, it was yours I saw Peterlee. I remember the blue wheels now you mention them. I work in Bracken Hill Business Park too. Bound to see each other again! The one I had a good look at near north shields is definately worth checking out. Not really to my taste but impressive non the less!! see you around! David

Yellow Z, Arnison Car Park, Co Durham
Think I've seen this one too! Big alu spoiler on the back? Gave him a flash on the A167 near chester le street last night - and saw it parked up near my mum's place in North Shields tonight! Also seen it near where I work in Peterlee! ...gets around a bit! Had a good look at it tonight, dropped way low and 'beast of the East' on the sun-strip and a big dragon on the side. Anyone here?
