keep it, youll regret it otherwise
  3. if you are talking about the plenum water pipes bypass you should use a good quality rubber hose which will take the pressure in the water system, done a few of them now and never touched the carbon cannister????

    Happy birthday John
  5. bottom line bud, is that you cant prove or disprove. You could go there and say Theoretically a 400BHP car couldnt do that, and his reply would be "Mine does". Answer: hes full of it , or his speedo needs calibrating. I think the point here is , dont buy a car because it does or doesnt do 205 mph, buy it because you like it, its tidy, it has a service history etc

Personally I wouldnt bother with the boost controller until you get the new tubs, get some boost jets in there for a nice 14 - 15 psi, which is not unmanageable even in the wet. I would also say budget for work on your brakes ( I say work on your brakes rather than an upgrade as the problem with most brakes I see is that 50% of the pistons are stuck in/ out) and traction control when you get the big tubs
  7. Jeep cherokee, and a honda firestorm
  8. been with my good lady 12 yrs now
  9. you need to find one in a wheelchair james, else whos going to play uncle chunk??
  10. it sounds like your hydraulic lifters are shot, this makes for a very rattley top end, the treatmment will help (as it did in your case) but the only real solution is to replace them, but it aint cheap as there are 24 of the little buggers and the ones on my mitsi were 30 odd quid each :)
  11. Firstly, I believe that there is two impellers in the TT pump (as opposed to one in the NA as Smithy highlighted).having discussed this before, and its too late now youve removed all the pipes, but you could have joined the two pipes thast go to the rear of the car and caused a closed loop, which would mean that there would be fluid for the "hicas side" of the pump to rotate and to keep it lubed. Dont know if you can strip down the pump, remove the impeller from the hicas side and cap it off
  12. Always the imperial, whoever used a .90kg ball pein? :smash:
  13. adjustable tapometer does the trick lovely, just dont forget to mark the prop :)
  14. Not as right wing as i thought, apparently there are 1.8% of people out there who are nmore right wing, Must try harder :)
  15. Have driven an auto skyline, with the paddles on the wheel, quick, but the standard traction control is pants:)
  16. try having a look at the two bolts that hold it on, its not unknown for them to come loose, which stops it from starting, giveaway is a whirring noise where the starter isnt making contact
  17. I agree with mike, big guy in a suit, professional manner. If you go down the physical route and he doesnt back down youve got nowhere to go but get physical, if you go the "debt recovery agent" route and it doesnt work, youve not lost anything
  18. I once saw a cortina that had a cherry red base coat, then over sprayed with a black gloss, which had the anti-shrink removed (or not added) so that it had dried, shrunk and cracked and you could see the cherry red through it, looked stunning
  19. if you want to toattally remove them , they go up through the floor to a black box which sits behind the handbrake, under the center console
  20. TCS - Traction Control System - An electro-mechanical control system designed to monitor and influence wheel dynamics, and ultimately vehicle dynamics during acceleration maneuvers. In order of priority, these systems are intended to enhance vehicle 1) stability (RWD applications) 2) steerability (FWD applications) and 3) launch performance (all applications). Typical systems consist of 3-4 wheel speed sensors, an ECU containing the algorithm processing the wheel speed information, a series of solenoid-driven valves, and a pump-motor subsystem which can be actuated to build, hold, and release brake fluid pressure from the wheel-end brake components. A good read john, but think that the guy needs to proof read his post as I have never come across a TCS which works by building, holding or releasing brake fluid pressure :nono:
  21. Its wire 23 on the harness side of the ecu, in case you were wondering :)
  22. Smithy will supply you with silicone in suitable sizes for most of the vaccum stuff. MOst of the pipes are in the 4,6,8mm range
  23. I remember scenes more than films, the one in American History X, where he stomps the guys open mouth down on to the kerb, Casino with the pen (Joe Pesci does some good "nutty") but for films, ID, The Firm and Kalifornia stick in the mind
  24. Must have been difficult to resist Its not often that bikes off your era come up
