  1. Cheers Dave. I think seeing the line of light spoils the effect, its best to get a complete glow, but if you send me your rear bumper reflectors i can led them up. Indicators: if you went down the route of doing all the car indicators in led then you can get a replacement flasher relay, that evens the load to flash at the correct speed. If you just have a couple done, then a load resistor is needed on each light to simulate the load of a filament bulb. And as for manufacturing the 99 specs, a way off yet, still in the planning process, i dont want to have to solder by hand 4 lots of 185 leds :crying: =740 by the way :1eye:
  2. I agree, i think China is the place to get a run on the go. I will do some homework on that front also, there are many lighting manufacturers that i deal with who have dealings with the factories direct.
  3. Is that 1K just for the set up then, whatever after its designed. I would be up for that as i think the market for these is huge, well huge in the zedworld, especially at the right price. The US market alone would more than cover the costs of set up. Maybe we should have a few of us chip in, if its feasible, as i think once the design is spot on, the world is your oyster
  4. I would need to get hold of the pcbs, they are hard to get that size domestically, wouldnt take too long to mount on the board, but i would use the larger 5050 smds, easier to solder. The clear corners have variable resistor pots on the rear of the light unit to adjust brightness, but to be honest they are not really needed.
  5. I think there will be enough demand, they can be used in oem spec also, you have the aus market etc, distribution through z traders and centres and it would still work out cheaper than clear corners. The only thing to remember is that you get the 99 spec lights with these from clear corners. Also solve alot of peoples rear fog dilemmas Do you have any rough idea on costings Si?
  6. And some more, back of each board is covered with gaffer tape
  7. I thought you might like to see the inside of the clear corners 99 spec led rear lights. I have to say im pretty shocked at how its put together considering the cost.
  8. Google it you lazy git:lol::lol: Centre or offside rear. No higher then 1000mm and no lower than 250mm HTH Graham
  9. Thread closed, going nowhere
  10. JeffTT has some, i wouldnt think they would cost too much. Post a thread up in Jeff's trader section or contact zedworld. By the way if you disconnect the time control unit, you will also lose your dash lights etc, just bare that in mind
  11. You would have to put it to znut, as any group buys have to be cleared. I cant see Luke going for a price reduction as they are similarly priced to others on the market, but worth a try.
  12. :happybday: Andy, you can get your HIDs fitted now lol :happybday:
  13. :happybday: have nice day :happybday:
  14. The time control unit is behind the drivers footwell panel at the bottom near the door shut, just above the carpet line, if that helps
  15. http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_43_69&products_id=429 Cant find the ones on ebay, but they are the same and the same price
  16. None taken, i used to have them, but got UK clocks now. Sounds like you have a dry joint then more than likely. Run a soldering iron and some fresh solder over the tracks and components on the speedo circuit board, but try it before you bolt everything back together to make sure you hit the right spot
  17. you can wire up anything to work, its a case of fitment that will be the only issue in the dash. Many have fitted carputers with a larger screen, JoelyP and Legrath spring to mind and Funki Si has a 2 din unit. So basically anything is possible.
  18. Hi Mark, if you look at the rear of the board at the solder tracks, dry joints tend to look dull, but not all dry joints can be visible to the naked eye, its a case of using a soldering iron with new solder and basically re-tin the existing tracks and components being careful not to over do it and cross over to other components on the board. I will have a check on the interior relay diagram post it up Cheers Graham
  19. Youve taken the needle off  Did you have problems with the speedo before during or after the needle was taken off. IE was the speedo intermittent before removing needle? Did you remove the needle to say put some el dials or a new face plate, then found it was erratic. I can have a look at it for you but the needle generally needs to be put back on under load, ie engine on and thats assuming the pin hasnt been pulled out with it lol Let me know, it may be more beneficial to replace the whole speedo dial if its buggered but cant hurt having a look. Graham
  20. The black wire left is the old earth/ground for the oem bulb. Its no longer used. The in of the ballast connects to the existing wires that went to the bulb and the out goes to the HID bulb. So the four wires in the rubber grommet/seal to the headlight, pull the 2 wires, black and red with the spade connectors through the rubber, so you are left with the 2 wires to the new bulb otherwise you wont get a tight fit using the original ring collar. The 2 pulled wires connect to the original bulb wires outside of the headlight. Really easy and straightforward. You shouldnt need to re angle but you may need to clean the lenses. HTH Graham
  21. Hi Mark, I think i may have mentioned before that the needle has been off at some time. It needs to sit at zero when under load, ie ign on engine on. You will need to take the perspex front off the dash binnacle and ease off the needle with a fork or similar and re place the needle at zero on the pin while the engine is on. If it were a case of the speedo being temperamental and rest at zero when off then it would be a dry joint issue on the speedo circuit board. HTH Graham
  22. Actually Si has a very good point, well worth getting Jimmer down if he is available. After spending what you have already on the engine, its worth every penny getting it set up right. Peace of mind more than anything else
  23. This link should help mate, if you need to do it yourself http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=135139
