  1. For door cards etc, i would have thought it will be fine. I bought a hide in black leather a while back for about £40 but getting the right colour might be an issue, although you can pretty much get them any colour now. Have you done a search on ebay for a hide in the colour you want? you might be able to save yourself a few quid and the hassle of taking apart a sofa.
  2. If you are looking at taking them off to clean or paint, you need the top water pipe off to get to the hex bolts, just under the PTU.
  3. Remove the 2 stop points, and unscrew the 2 runner bushes, one that runs up the pillar and the other at the bottom of the window, you will need the window up slightly to get to it, so will have to plug the window switch back in for that. You wont get it out straight up, it will need to be angled slightly IIRC. I did mine a few years ago to get rid of the tinted glass i had.
  4. :happybday: have a nice day :happybday:
  5. Welcome Rob to the forum, im sure you will enjoy every minute of owning a zed, good and bad lol Graham
  6. They come up now and again but are quite rare. Making your own is very simple, the hard bit is getting the panel apart without breaking it lol
  7. Yes you will need TT calipers, they will fit with no modding, i did exactly the same, sent discs back twice lol and still ended up with 30mm so got myself some TT calipers. They fit behind my wheels fine, i think the physical size of the caliper is the same, just the distance internally where the disc went through. My car is on a 93 plate and wondered why i had the old 26mm discs and calipers, its actually a 1990, so you can never really rely on the reg plate as an indication of the year lol HTH Graham
  8. :happybday: all the best Paul, have a nice day :happybday:
  9. Hi Andy, looking nice, you need the blue EL strips now to match the interior, just so happens lol
  10. No idea, John Dixon or Andyp will be the best to ask about chips
  11. Sorted, many thanks for the help, i used a 7mm hex bit and hammered it in tight, it worked a treat. Now the hard work begins lol
  12. exactly, i dont see any reason why a normal bolt cant be used, it must be a nightmare of a job with the engine still in the car, in fact getting the little hoses off was a pain out the car let alone in lol
  13. Either a prong on the chip bent, dodgy solder or incorrect info, or not uploaded properly onto the chip. Have you tried the original N/A ecu? The fueling will be the same as its used to even though it has a bigger cc injector
  14. Cheers Steve, a big help. Im lucky enough to have the engine out while doing this otherwise as you said its tight lol
  15. I dont have a welder, but as a last resort might have to get a mobile welding guy to di it all else fails
  16. Right ive been on the US site and basically it all boils down to the reprogramming of the ECU, which you already know. Its down to the CC of the injector which is main thing that needs programming for the chip. I would say that the 2 chips you have already tried have the wrong cc parameters and not supplying enough fuel to the injectors and obviously the TT too much. HTH although you may already be aware. Most posts state that there is no point in going to a TT injector on an N/A unless using NOS or running higher horse power, although they also say that it wont be a problem as long as the ECU is rechipped. Graham
  17. I see what you mean, im sure its been done before in the US with success, i will see if i can find any posts on the subject
  18. That looks cool, but the hex head is smooth, i dont know whether it will grip or not.
  19. So why not run it on the TT chip? or get a chip from John Dixon mapped for the mods you have, it will more likely match the set up.
  20. Same here Stu the inside of the head is rounded, i tried to hammer a bigger size in, but might have to give it a bigger whack lol. I though that might be the route to take, but wondered if some sort of extraction tool might do the job, as you say its in there really tight. Cheers Graham
  21. You say uprated chip, it depends how it is mapped it might be overfuelling. TT injectors on an N/A runs on the TT chip, what more upgraded are you after lol. By the way im no expert on this subject, its just my observation and having an N/A myself wonder what the benefit would be if any. Graham
  22. Ive started working on my spare engine in the garage and started stripping the front end. I have one problem! the two water pipes, i got the top one off that contains the sensors no problem, but the bottom water pipe has 2 nuts and 1 hex bolt. I got the nuts off but it looks like the hexbolt has been stripped at some point, i dont mean the thread, its the hex head where you insert the tool. Now i cant get the other top timing belt cover off, cos the pipe is in the way. And space is tight for getting anything i have to normally remove stripped heads. Has anyone come across this before or have any ideas to get the hex bolt out. Cheers Graham
  23. Well about 10 mins, there is a faq on door card removal to find the hidden bolt lol
