  1. Now ive been using 10/40 semi synthetic, but of late and its not getting better, ive got some tapping at the top end, probably lifters. That i can live with, but ive now got what sounds like a baring or tensioner pulley noise, but appears to be coming from inside middle- ish of the engine. It appears worse when warm, so oil thinner obviously, so to keep the noise getting on my nerves, its embarrassing when stopped at traffic lights etc in town, sounds like a diesel lol ( actually not that bad) im thinking of user a thicker oil, i had heard a member use 20/50 and seem to cure it or quieten down a bit. Any thoughts..............? Im changing my engine in the summer when ive finished tarting up the new one in my garage, so its only a temp fix and im not racing it or anything daft, just casual everyday use. Cheers Graham
  2. Neighbors eh! wait till you have your BBQ that will make her happy :taz:
  3. You should be fine if it is a 92, but double check the dimensions on yours, if they are 30mm thick and 280mm in diameter, then it will be fine TT/NA, rear discs are the same anyway for both HTH Graham
  4. Welcome to the club....
  5. check the PTU and harness
  6. Thats a 2 seater swb, the tank is behind the front seats in the middle, so dont take that pic as a guide. On a 2+2 the fuel tank is held on by 2 straps under the boot, the exhausts go around the outside of the tank so a single exit will fit fine
  7. The ballast shouldnt blow the relay, its drawing about the same as a normal bulb, if bad connections or a short in the wiring to the ballast occurs then it could pop a relay or more likely the fuse unless really cooked, but the relays are generally reliable. If i were you Ian, i would start again from the relay to the bulb feed with a tester, to make sure you have no issues, then its ballasts and bulbs, apart from the obvious(fuse) there isnt alot else in the engine bay it can be. Take a couple of relays out of yours to try, but use normal bulbs first. If you dont have an issue at this point you wont blow your relays if its the HID's Graham
  8. A mixture of fear and trepidation lol i know how you feel, but you had Jimmer sort and check the internals, your mate to wire everything and the determination and time spent putting together with all new parts, im sure it will be fine. check and double check, best way really, good luck and fingers crossed for you Graham
  9. Could be a bad earth, do the high beam lights come on with no lights on, ie flash. Have you tried a normal bulb to try the circuit? I wouldnt worry too much about a wiring loom, there are only 2 wires to each lamp, but if you have a duff earth/ground the relay will not switch it, so i would do a continuity test from the lamp to the relay with each wire. HTH Graham
  10. I have and i enjoyed every minute lol, I have a CD rom on building your own decking, if you want it pm your address i will send it out tomorrow. You will still need some posts concreted in the ground for support or you can create concrete plinths to sit the joist onto. Also some weed blanket stuff from B&Q to lay down on the floor before building
  11. Here you go mate http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380162545632&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

  16. Im all for bringing back some old threads lol but this is 4years old
  17. No mate, i edited the post with the voltage in, its 500vAC, so only of any use on the EL stuff. To be honest the only thing to go wrong is the invertor or a cracked EL panel, the panel looked fine in your pic, so im betting on the invertor. But re insulate any bare wires to the sill, you dont want it arcing, otherwise bang goes the invertor lol
  18. For the price, your better off fitting one for each sill. Also if you have a problem with one, it wont blow both
  19. Try to bypass the amp part of the speaker, if it still has them, failing that try another speaker for testing, ie old hifi speaker or a spare one you can get hold of.
  20. Then i would check the rear hatch, at least you can eliminate it if that doesnt cure the problem. could be an exhaust rubber or bracket, worth looking at.
  21. Do you have any illuminated sills left Smithy?
  22. This is the wiring diagram for the iso, also if you do a search on "stereo wiring" there are quite a few threads regarding issues HTH Graham
  23. Give me 5 ill have a search
  24. They are, but they are the ones you need, have been tried and tested before and very cheap, just got to wait the usual from HK, although i bought angel eyes the other week from HK and they arrived in 3 days.
