  2. you wont need the engine out to fit them or the gearbox removed.
  3. You could use the existing wire for the speakers, but as youre upgrading, its worth replacing considering the low cost http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Speaker-Cable-Wire-Audio-Surround-Sound-Hi-fi-Car-/180467870838?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item2a04b92c76 Dynamat sheets are normally used behind and around each speaker, to stop vibration caused by the speakers. Im soundproofing the whole car with this stuff http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/53-ft2-Car-Audio-Sound-Deadening-Proofing-Sheet-NEW-/380308555187?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_Car_Speakers_PP&hash=item588c2805b3 Do a google on car sound deadening and look at the images, brings up lots of ideas
  4. Dave is referring to the pipe from the egr to the manifold, needs to be capped.
  5. Check the fog fuse and relay under the bonnet.
  6. I wouldnt use the led ones unless you fit a load resistor relay or one on each indocator as they will flash faster, due to lack of load that a bulb would give.
  7. Front indicators http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-90-Chrome-Silver-Indicator-Bulbs-FRONT-/200562185920?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb27016c0 The link i put in my first post is for the side indicators on the wing.
  8. These will be better, you wont see the orange http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chrome-Amber-501-Side-indicator-Bulbs-NISSAN-300ZX-/330463846653?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf12e20fd
  9. Hi Dan, welcome to the club. Theres a couple of N/A's on ebay within your price range and a couple of TT's that need a bit of work, but i would look at having a few quid put by for modding and running costs.
  10. Its a bitumen backed soundproofing material, i bought 52 sqm off ebay for about £40 to do the whole interior http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/53-ft2-Car-Audio-Sound-Deadening-Proofing-Sheet-NEW-/380306684288?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_Car_Speakers_PP&hash=item588c0b7980 Ths is dynomat http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dynamat-Superlite-Tri-Pak-/170584571614?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27b7a1fede A lot more expensive for what you get lol
  11. MMMM £200 for what materials? You can get a full leather hide for less than £50 on ebay and might cost about £30 in evo stick contact adhesive, it can take a few hours to get the old tweed and glue off, use the old cloth as a template. The trickiest parts are the door cards and rear panels next to the seat. I totally understand what your saying and he will probably do a great job, i would shop around for a few quotes, but if you can afford it and your mind is made up then go for it. Just remember you can buy the whole interior leather panels already stitched from the zcentre for £300 +vat http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=194&category_id=75&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7
  12. I would lay the dynomat first, if you have a problem with a wire, you wont be able to get to it once buried.
  13. Honestly mate, i would give it a go yourself, for about £40 with materials. If you mess it up then you havent lost much, i think thats a bit ott for just the panels and cards, obviously you wouldnt be stitching anything, i assume your trimmer will be stitching leather and fitting it all?
  14. Sorry to hear about your cat mate, i know how that feels
  15. Thanks mate, we didnt see her that often, she was close to my mum, we last saw her in August and looked fit as a fiddle for 70, she went in for an op on her wrist and apparently had a stroke.
  16. Ive just found out my Auntie died today, so must be black monday
  17. The exhaust cam covers, require sealant as there is no factory gasket, the intake cam covers have rubber gaskets, but still worth using a it of sealant, depending on condition This post should help http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=146108 There is only one gasket for the upper plenum available through MJP forum trader, cheap at the minute, so i would get in there quick, you could ask about the oil cap O ring too.
  18. What adaptors? if you mean for the H1, you already have them lol The H1 bulb is plugged into an adaptor plate with the prongs on the back that the wires are plugged into. Bit fiddly to get the clip released that holds the bulb/adaptor in the light, but nothing major.
  19. If you ground one side of the dip beams they will stay on with the high beams when switched. I did fit some super white H1 bulbs 5K and they looked better, You can only run one bulb per ballast. Take your pick, but try and stick with 55w or you are adding extra load to the system http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=H1+super+white&_sacat=0&_dmpt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&_odkw=H1+super+bright&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
  20. Hi Pete and welcome to the club. Theres a few z31's here but this is a predominantly z32 site, hopefully you will be able to get some answers you are looking for.
  21. Unfortunately im gigging that date, bugger all the weeks before or after lol.
  22. Its in the right hand bottom corner of the drivers footwell, take the whole plastic cover off and its an opaque platsic box the size of a fag packet US version, but its the same unit but on our drivers side lol
  23. Nice one, you do get satisfaction doing it yourself, even though, during, you wish you taken it to a garage lol
