  2. Happy Birthday for tommorrow and enjoy your trip. Im not jealous at all ...much :tongue_smilie: .... a bit .....ok, so im jealous. Enjoy:clap:
  3. Hi and welcome to the club, there are a few members in your neck of the woods, take a look at the Scotland section of the events and meetings http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=93
  4. So when you going to do it :lol:
  5. Yep http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=144553
  6. Right, by using a short length of wire, place one end in the same spade hole as the black ground wire of the HID and ground the other end of the wire to the car, this will stop the HID's going off when you use main beam. You only need to ground one side as they are linked in the circuit. The HID's will also come on briefly with the main beams if you pull the stalk back to flash, which isnt ideal but not the end of the world. The best mod is in a previous post, where you ground pin 5 again with a length of wire of the blue relay in the fuebox in the engine compartment, this makes the headlights do what you need.
  7. Yep do the other mod, by earthing pin 5 on the relay. A simpler trick is to earth one side of the hid plug, which will keep the HID's on when using main beam, but will flash, with main beam, so if you dont flash much go for the simpler mod.
  8. This what you need to do: If have a UK vehicle with dim-dip this needs to be bypassed by doing the following. Behind the wheel arch passenger side there is a green box with 2 connectors going into it, has this number written on it 28575 37P10 PD9. 1 connector has 4 wires, 1 has 6 wires. Remove the green box. Each connector has a red with black stripe wire - connect these two together. This will bypass the dim dip, which will make it safe for your HIDs
  9. Loving the look, really sleek and clean looking. Cantwait to see it in the flesh.
  10. Hi and welcome to the club, look forward to seeing the pics/
  11.:lol:, mine wont be far off lol, i have a few plans :x:
  12. Cheers Daz, it will be nice to open the bonnet and see peoples faces light up, zedders and non owners. Im probably tempting fate here, but i think i can safely say that it will all be finished and ready to unveil at JAE this Sept :death:
  13. The centre channel normally hidden under the throttle cover, has the coilpack and injector loom/plugs, which without the throttle cover would be visible. The idea is to do away with the throttle cover, hide the loom under the plenum legs and have the channel polished also, for an overall look. Take a look at Andyisherwood's rides to see the difference
  14. A pic would be handy, it could be the car alarm
  15. Yes mate drill, i put the drill in a vice and worked the piece on the wheel like a bench grinder, easier to get the angles. No worries mate, just send a PM when you are ready to go. Cheers Graham
  16. Ecellent, maintenence free would be nice. By the way mate, when i get my door card off in the next few weeks, i will be able to finish off getting your switch to work, i didnt have much luck for a while getting it all to do as it was supposed to and figured it had something to do with the window amp. I have now managed to get hold of some info which shows one of the plugs going straight to the amp and not the original window switch. Will keep you updated and get it done as soon as, its been a fair while :whistling:
  17. Not many people will see it lol, the reason im doing it is because ive deleted a lot of the crap, got new manifolds, cambelt etc etc... i will know its all clean and tidy under there and when the bonnet does get opened at meets or shows, i will feel happier about showing it
  18. Hi Rob, i only used the sisal mop for the springs and link bar, then the softer polishing mop. No need to sand as the metal is already smooth, just dirty. I did take them apart from the throttle bodies, makes getting to the little collars easier, also cleaned the inside of the throttle body and butterfly. The housing of the throttle body i used an oakley paint/rust removing wheel, which acts as a great sanding/cutting tool to get a smooth finish, but still getting rid of the pits. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/97385/Abrasives/Drill-Sanding/Sanding-Attachments/Oakey-Paint-Varnish-Remover?cm_mmc=AffiliateWindow-_-Datafeed-_-Abrasives-_-Oakey%20Paint%20%26%20Varnish%20Remover&source=aw They are about £7 from B&Q
  19. :happybday: Have a nice one :happybday:
  20. :happybday: Have a great day :happybday:
  21. :happybday: All the best Stu :happybday:
  22. Yes mate, just PM what you want and when and we can go from there. Cheers Graham
  23. The laser engraved logo sills are £120 so i think the indiglow sills were more. Give Smithy a PM, he used to deal with them.
  24. Im really pleased for you Paul, a long time coming, but its done
  25. Im aiming for this, but with the cam covers done too, along with the throttle cover
