Heater temperature
You would get hot at 26, will take a long time getting 40 degrees out of it lol. I would suggest bleeding with it set at 26 with the engine warmed up obviously and get the air out. If you have tried it before at 40, then i think the valve to the matrix wouldnt have been opened and not all the air would have been bled.

Heater temperature
The valve of the heater matrix opens when it gets to the temperature its set at. If once the car is warmed up and you set it a say 25 deg, once the water in the system has reached this temp the valve will open. However once youve become stationary, the temp of the water is cooled by the rad and the valve will close, blowing colder air. Once the car is fully warmed up, ie a long run then the core temp is higher than you have set on the pod and therefore if set at 25deg you will continue to get heat even when stationary. To get the best out of your heater, make sure the rad is bled with the car on a slight incline ( front end raised) and get all air out of the system. Air in the system will effect the heat through the matrix. At worst the heater matrix may be on its way out. HTH

Couple of problems
Ah sorry bud, you should have been clearer in your description lol. As you said no it should not be lit, do as Jeff suggests, but to make life easier, check your key barrel and wires on the ign first. If you are having problems releasing the key, it may be related to a duff ignition switch or a short in the wires to it which might be causing the climate pod to light.

Im liking these rims
I really like these wheels, bit pricy, but look fantastic. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Deep-Dish-ZAUBER-rims-wheels-18-9-5J-10-5J-300zx-350Z-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5adf50416aQQitemZ390293635434QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Couple of problems
The illumination for the temp is on from the acc on turn 2 of the key, so yes its on till the last turn off, before releasing the key. Spray a bit of contact cleaner or wd40 into the button hole and wiggle the key slightly as you press the button. Normally you should be able to press the button once with ease for the key to come out. You push the button and pull the key, its not a spring, pop out type affair.

FLOCKING interior trim parts
I would go black for the boot area, at the moment im fitting the series 2 blue/grey velour, if i send you a swatch of material, is it possible to match the colour? I want to keep the seats in that colour. FYI all the plastic trim is removeable on the door cards.

FLOCKING interior trim parts
I think having the boot panels flocked , although some may see as wasted on something that wont always he be on view, would be a good idea too. The plastic panels get scratched and weathered looking.
