Help, How do the gbox dust plates go on?
The manual dust plate is the two half one, having looked, the plate in the pic goes on first and the second half( lower) on after, then the flywheel.

Help, How do the gbox dust plates go on?
Notice the orientation of the 5 Speed engine plate in this picture. This obviously needs to go in behind the flywheel. If you look at the gearbox brace brackets from the block, the holes should match up

Sticky/lazy tappet
You could try a thicker viscosity oil, but if the lifters are on their last legs, there isnt alot you can do really but to replace them. Its not likely to go bang lol, just annoying. Are you sure its the lifters? the vvt springs if worn can sound rattly, but usually disappear above 3k revs

How much for a polished plemun?
Compared to the hours you have to put in to get it polished it should be worth alot more lol, but a good polished one about £150-£180, but bear in mind it would cost you more than that to get a company to polish one. At the end of the day its down to what someone is willing to pay and what you are willing to take.

Polished Plenum diet part 2!
Oh yeah theres another raised fixing gone for the fuel hose clip on the second leg and the other fixing on the rear inner leg, i take it you are still going to use the throttle cable tree? Ive been painting some other bits on the engine, cam covers, rocker covers, coil pack brackets, balance bar and the throttle cover, will do a trial put together and take some pics.

Nice one Andy, you got rid of the little tabs on each side, looks much sleeker, N/A balance bar. Now polish your springs and throttle bars lol, i just used the cutting mop on those with no sanding, came up a treat.

Would you allow your son to do this....?
Dont get me started on discipline, i fight a losing battle sometimes with my other half. Her 11 year old really grinds me sometimes, but she lets him get away with murder. She thinks im always having a go at him for no reason, but i try to show that its for his own good or he will grow up with no discipline and poor grades. As it happens he is doing well at school and she seems to be coming round to my approach, but there is no way he would wear a skirt to school, let alone us letting him lol.

so its painted !!!!!!!!!!!!

clicking sound in gearbox
The clicking is normal mate, the switch behind the brake pedal activates the solenoid in the gearbox to move the selector. You can sit in the car with the ignition on and the engine off and hear it more clearly, by depressing and releasing the brake pedal.

running rich,
O2 sensors lazy or dead, can afffect the fuelling. Jeff can put it on conzult and confirm for you when you are there. You can try disconnecting the O2 sensors to see if it makes a difference in the fuelling. Disconnecting them will revert the ECU to a means setting for the O2 sensors, mine has been running with out for the last year or so. The temp sensor and the maf can also affect the fuelling, clean the connectors and check for corrosion on the terminals.

Sorry bud, had to edit, although we all have the same sentiments, its not for us to publicise or decide on the possible fate of such a person. Cheers Graham

Purchased a 300zx turbo Not sure if I done the right thing..
TPS 0.44v. The PTU if failing, can cause starting issues and rough running sometimes coupled with a PTU plug loose, but i think the stalling in this case is something else. It could be base idle, IAV, vacuum leak.....

Make sure you purge the system before taking any pipes off the fuel filter as its under pressure. The easiest way to do this, is take out the fuel pump fuse in the engine bay near the brake servo, then start the car until it stalls. Turn over again to make sure most of the fuel in the system has gone, then change the filter. Replace the fuse after completing the change and turn the ign on, but dont turn the engine, you will hear the fuel pump, turn off the key then go for another start. It wont hurt replacing the fuel filter but i dont think its the cause of your stalling.

Most of the time it flashes its likely to be revolution sensor or line pressure. The problem with stalling could be the base idle set too low or the TPS( throttle position sensor) needs adjusting Or both. The TPS if not set correctly, will affect gear change intervals too.

The one on the left Daz, the one on the right is for the exhaust rocker covers and the one on the left for the intake rocker covers, Many thanks Graham
