another speedo thread.....
If you mean the corrugated pipe, its the AIV deleted, it used to feed cooler air to the cats, but as you have decatted its no longer required. You can delete the whole aiv system, link in the faq section. If your back wheels are moving your hicas has not been deleted, recheck steering fluid and bleed, easier to raise both front wheels off the ground and turn the steering wheel left to right and holding for a couple of seconds on lock.

I thought in this day and age and new employment laws it wouldn't be allowed, but i guess under the guise of training, they can get away with it

Kwik-Fit W.T.F. ???
Seriously though, the government have re introduced apprenticeships, so no excuse for free labor from our youngsters. I was doing a YTS scheme at 17 on £25 per week paid by the government and not many taken on after the scheme ended, hopefully as in the case of my nephew the new apprenticeship schemes have more of a chance of working  and companies like KwikFit should not be allowed to advertise for free labour, unless its a made up advert lol

Mystery rubbing/knocking noise from underneath - only when going forwards!
If its totally shot like mine was, i had no rubber left and the bearing was hanging in mid air so would make noise at any speed, worth a check, would be the cheaper option if its the problem, if not then unfortunately you may be looking at a problem in the gearbox

another speedo thread.....
The Hicas system can be checked on consult. Also check: There is a mountain of info in the online manual in the tech section

Mystery rubbing/knocking noise from underneath - only when going forwards!
Possibly prop centre bearing, but usually noticeable at around 40mph onwards unless the rubber has deformed and completely unbalanced it

another speedo thread.....
I think consult will only tell you if its on or off, dont quote me though as i use scantech. Move you steering wheel until the wheels are straight, then check the centre of your steering wheel, you may need to move you wheel a couple of splines. As far as im aware there are no components in the steering column that affects the power steering as the system is hydraulic/mechanical, the only electrical side to it is the signal from the speedo to the pressure switch which changes the sensitivity. You may still have an issue on your speedo board and as recommended use a magnifier to really get in close to the tracks and solder joints, the difference is vast compared to the eye. What looks fine by eye can really stand out under magnification.

another speedo thread.....
Check specifically around the resistor at R10 and the four screw hole points, which receive the signal
-
another speedo thread.....
Looking at the board i can see two possibles already lol the two round solder points to the left above C19 top one looks lifted off the track
-
another speedo thread.....
If you look in the tech faq's section in the header above, there is a thread for the speedo fix, the most common issue are dry joints on the pcb board, after that components on the board.
