  1. Depends where you have placed the amp, but mine for eg: is where the poly tray was pass side and i used one of the fixing bolt points for the plastic cover by the bottom of the rear wheel arch. Wire brush the paint off to give a good ground.
  2. Cant be for real surely at that price :scared:
  3. For the easy bodge you dont even need to go near the relay, just ground the earth feed on one bulb ie black wire to the nearest bolt and both sides will stay on when high beam is on.
  4. If you are having separate tweeters then yes you will need a crossover otherwise you will get full range through the tweeter too and apart from sounding pants, likely to blow it. The crossover will split the higher frequency range say 250khz so that only frequencies above 250 can get to the tweeter, the 6.5 will handle everything else below that down to 65hz. The link is ideal for the fronts :thumbup1:
  5. That never stopped me going before
  6. plenty of space in the door panel between the vent and window switches for crossover, i hot glued mine in place and not had any problems or go for a discreet install of an EQL in the boot ( i used the space where the ploystyrene tray sits on pass side) and run extra wires for the tweeters
  7. Nice pics mate, glad you had a good day out :thumbup1:
  8. Also remember that most head units are rated at 45 per channel output, which is peak power, not continuous, so you can at least half that figure to gauge what the head unit is really giving you. Gio made a vaild point regarding the sound inside the car when driving, certain frequencies created by road or wind noise within the car can cancel out the frequencies produced from the head unit, which is why the sound changes at standstill compared to cruising at 70 on a motorway, so although adding a good equalizer unit in line can go some way to degrade the signal quality, boosting or cutting certain frequencies can compensate for the loss of clarity or definition caused by road noise. When i run my PA system a graphic equalizer is used to cut the horrible frequencies in a room caused by bad accoustics and taking into account speaker placement on or around the stage in close proximity of microphones, the same principle applies in cars, you should use the equalizer to compensate rather than as a happy smiley face, tone control lol
  9. What is the impedance of your speakers? ie 8ohm, 16ohm you need to know the lowest impedance rating for the amp supplying each speaker. Using a power amp you are likely to get a better load match between the amps output and the speaker ohm-age, for eg: 200watts @ 4 ohms, 400watts @2ohms, so the speakers would need to mach the required output. Per channel 1xspk @4ohms 200w 2xspk @8ohms 200w 4xspk @16ohms 200w 2xspk @4ohms 400watt 4xspk @4ohms 400watt Distortion is usually caused by overloading the output of the amp using incorrect impedance speakers or too much output from the amp into incorrect impedance speakers, exceeding the nominal output of the speaker.
  10. Some head units give what i call a general all round output which is then clouded by a pretty weak in built equalizer for varying types of sound ultimately dropping or adding certain frequencies in the range to make the difference, having good quality speakers obviously helps with the sound quality, but you could have the best speakers in the world and a half assed head unit built in amp will still struggle to give you the definition of the high, mid and lows. A separate good quality amp and a parametric eq with crossover built in will make all the difference in achieving a better overall sound and still achieve good lows utilizing the crossover and eq. I was in Andy Isherwoods car at JAE one year and the sound was amazing, brilliant clarity and crystal clear bottom end with definition. JL audio components and a nakamichi head unit. I know what you are saying about some cars factory fitted ice, my mate had a Fiat Stilo and the bottom end was amazing considering there was no sub.
  11. Sometimes you need a few years to have a play before discovering it
  12. (Dave) Carmad as mentioned above, supplies only quality products, its not just a few layers of fibreglass, they feel more solid and substantial compared to the cheapo shite available on fleabay, also being a zed owner himself, you know they are going to fit spot on, with very little prep for paint and being the perfectionist that he is, you know he has taken a great deal of time and thought into the products. He is also available for advice which is an added bonus compared to buying elsewhere :thumbup1:
  13. They look great lit up at night but, with hindsight and after issues with blending the one piece panel and at the time my oem lights were in poor condition i would have and prefer 99 specs, but its the route i took at the time and i like them. :tt2: When i get another zed ( im not getting rid of this one lol) i would have a 99 spec front end or stillen lip, no skirts or rear valance, 99 spec lights and stock rear spoiler albeit in fibreglass, nice set of wheels and leave it at that :thumbup1:
  14. If she's talking about inches then she has a point
  15. 6 looks too busy but 4 is ok, obviously

I was wondering if the weather would hold out for the weekend, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, into sat and rain on sunday. Have fun
  17. I thought all baby seats had to be rear facing in the front seats, but in answer to your question it will fit in the front seat fine, ive often got a rear facing baby seat in the front with the step daughters baby, but with UK seat belts it struggles to go round as it should, compared to when i had Jap belts on the door.
  18. Always nice to pass with no advisories, nice one
  19. I would have thought with the tight health and safety rules schools have to adhere to now, they would have phoned an ambulance and wrapped him in cotton wool. Hell our school calls us even if our lad has fallen over and scratched his knee lol, definitely one to look into and why not sue the buggers, so many do now. Wish him all the best and to get plenty of rest, as Gary said, kids bones seem to heal quickly as they are still growing and hope he's not in too much pain.
  20. England
  21. Yep it was boring and dull as expected really, hardly any names i recognize playing lol
  22. There is a group buy on at the moment for them http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?171337-ZThirtyTwo-Z32-300ZX-RHD-Double-DIN-Group-Buy Or you can make your own.
  23. I bought an eonon a couple of years ago, looks very similar to that and its been great for the money
  24. You can can keep it simple or dremel the rest of the aperture out, use some plexi glass to fit and have the leds lighting through it, but as the strip is water proof it should do the job.
  25. Im sure dogs would be fine as long as you pick up its poo lol, there is a large silent generator enough to power half the site lol, but its supposed to be turned off at night when not entertaining, but i was told last year by a JAE rep that they can be on all night for music etc, but not just to run a fridge lol Most bring an led light or torch for going to bed, but if your tent is close enough im sure you could sneak an extension lead from the genny to your gaff:biggrin:
