  1. on acceleration but that's because of the gearing designed to be outstanding all the way up to about a ton, but after that begins to run out of guts certainly no contest for a Zed after that point!:D
  2. $104 dollars for the bearing, $40 dollars shipping then another £30 pounds when it hit England, and yes from Courtesy, altough I did order a whole load of other bits & pieces, which made it more worth while. If you do order it from Courtesy I'd take the oppurtunity to order any other parts you need/might need, you know it makes sense...:p :D
  3. The price is $104 from Courtesy and they are all the same Jap, UK, US! It comes complete as a 'bearing in a bush with a bracket' ready to bolt on to your prop. Also inculdes a new large nut & washer which you have to remove to replace the bearing, and you'll find it is staked to prevent it coming undone..... Works out about £74 plus shipping, and RIP OFF VAT AND DUTY! But still cheaper than £160 from Nissan UK or though I think Mike Feeney at MJP does 'em for about £130. cheers Jon..;)
  4. I'll get a harness, saves splicing the ignition wires..:D
  5. disks actually fit between the stock caliper OK, & I presume it's some sort of bracket to space the caliper close to the outer edge of the disk.... cheers Jon...;)
  6. That just sounds a bit too cheap £450, I would'nt trust Nissan with a huge job like that....;)
  7. and after fitting all that ICE, oh dear...... Have you checked the clutch on the engine fan, does temp rise whilst idling or on the move? When was the coolant changed last? ;)
  8. gotta be worth every penny lol.. Just goes to show wheels can really make or break a car really... watch them kerbs:p :D ;)
  9. How much are u asking for your 330mm disks, and brackets? cheers;) (any pics you can email)
  10. anyone know what wires I need to connect to? According to the wiring diagram: white = +12V then i need IG1 output & IG2 output, now do these correspond to the black/white & black/red wires on the back of the ignition switch? For an APEXI timer by the way..... Thanks Jon... :)
  11. hope it sorts it out....;)
  12. really tell when you hold them side-by-side end on then you'll see if it's sagged 'cos the old one will be lower. What you're effectively doing by fitting a new one is raising the gearbox back to where it should be, be it only a few mm, but enough to cause the prop to vibrate!;)
  13. is there a big difference using 330mm discs with standard calipers, even though the pad contact area is the same?
  14. somebody's gone a bit AWOL with the barbeque!!!!!:D
  15. Lots of patience, lots of wd40 or similar & suitable size drifts, 1 to press the ball joint out and another to press it back in again (different sizes), basically two bits of pipe that fit over the ball joint. I think these are actually shown in the manual including the dimensions.... cheers;)
  16. do you mean the rear gearbox mount or is there another mount?, manual box of course...:D ;)

    than a KWICK-FIT fitter...... well you can actually!!!!:p :D
  18. Just buy a new plug £3ish at Nissan :p :p :D
  19. they'll probably return alot sooner than if you changed the gearbox mount as well.....;)
  20. You'll need to get it up on axle stands, I removed the whole exhaust system just to make it easier, then it's just a case of unbolting the propshaft, very straight forward when your underneath looking at it. You'll need a large vice to split the propshaft to change the bearing. Took me and me M8 about 4 hours but that was taking our time and sorting one or two other bits while we were there. I'd get the parts from Courtesy if I were you bearing is about $104 dollars (£70 odd), and the mount about £50 odd I think. If you wanted you could just replace the mount & see what happens but it's not economical because the bearing will have taken some stick, so you just may as well replace it. ;)

    I wouldn't mind meeting the northern possy!! :D :D
  22. it will be the prop vibration, caused mainly by the rear gearbox mount sagging which then wears the centre bearing... Not too bad a job did mine recently 'cos I too got vibrations at 40mph then disappeared at about 80mph but was noticeably worse when cold....So you'll need a new centre bearing & gearbox mount.;)

at the flash of an eye it does look like the painted cars parked next to the van..wonder what's painted on the otherside, maybe a ferrari:D :D
  25. do you mean slipping under load or difficult gear selection? Mine has just started to slip when going hard in 3rd & 4th, time for a nice ACT or RPS me thinks........ ;)
