Insurance agreed valuation
They always want the basic 6 pics as a baseline on the vehicle, to ensure there is no existing damage or obvious defects that they should know about. They ask for this each year, and always want fresh pics, not re-used. As part of the overall valuation, you want to be sending detailed pics of the work or parts that are being used to justify the valuation, such as chassis and corrosion work, rust proofing, strip downs for restoration or repainting. Agreed value is not just the sum of the parts. The valuation guys are not expert in every vehicle, but they do understand the value of prevention and maintenance, along with simple receipts for parts. This is why they will take club valuations into account during the overall process, while also checking sale adverts etc. Alex, you are right, they wont accept a club valuation on it's own due to risk of fraud, but they do take them into account as part of the overall evidence you provide to justify the request. You want to supply as much of this evidence as possible to get the best valuation. Sometimes you can offer a valuation price, and they respond with an agreement, but other times they will offer a different valuation, up as well as down, based on their industry knowledge or in comparison to other vehicles they already have on their books.

MOT time !
Yes, i meant for end of year, after it is SORNed, you could still book and take it without taking it off SORN. Mine failed on some minorly stupid things which i didnt get a chance to check before i took it. Spent the weekend replacing 2 very leaky fuel hoses, and decorating, so i forgot to check all the MOT items once i put the battery on and realised they had degraded since last use.

MOT time !
You can still drive it while SORN if you pre-book the MOT Gary, at least here you can? The MOT exemption stops at end of July, so if your MOT is due in August, it will not get extended.

NEC 2019 - completed
Another great show over and done with for this year. Many thanks to the volunteer exhibitors for their time and toil, meeting and greeting, talking about the club and the cars to everyone who showed an interest. A very special thanks to Ian and his crew, who yet again made our stand the most impressive among our peers and neighbours, and the easiest stand to identify in Hall 8 ?, even if there was a tense nervous moment on setup day while waiting for the structural engineer to visit and give us the OK. The show organiser for clubs even commented on how fantastic our stand looked when she visited. For those members who managed to visit over the weekend, thank you, and i hope you enjoyed the show. More tweaks and ideas noted for next year...
