Meeting point here to leave for 8am and have to be on pitch by 9:30, but its only a few minutes drive, just the queuing with the other cars to get in. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Tesco+Superstore Then we take the RED route to the farm to get to Hall Farm IP31 1SL. The GREEN route is where you exit after the show at 4:30 onwards. Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
It's no worry Joel, the difficulty is in the organising upfront, trying to get rooms reserved etc, and the same problem with many of the shows we go to, where you have to commit a certain number of spaces upfront, and then when you dont fill them, it becomes difficult the following year asking for the same thing again. With some of the roads this year, i think you would now be overrun with kittens, running out of fingers and toes to count them on  or you would have to book a week off to restore the car back to normal.. Ian and myself will certainly have a few bits to buff out this year  Next year, we might try and factor in a NC500 based trip, but that will be even longer, and require even more commitment. Maybe start or end with a Lakes weekend, and a during the week trip for the Scotland part.

Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
thanks for the vote of confidence Tom, much appreciated. :thumbup1: researching the routes, finding somewhere to stop for lunch, making sure there was fuel on the way if needed, etc, did take a little while to do, especially as i created multiple routes so that we had some options. i know we set these dates after voting, and quite a long way in advance, but it is August and bank holiday too. might need to find a different weekend next year? or plan something different altogether, as we were discussing. i am not sure that Paul at the Fat Lamb will want to reserve us a weekend next year, unless we get more people signed up earlier, as it also makes it difficult for him if noone books.

Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
certainly felt like we were driving the “mountain goat” special edition  Ian and myself left this morning, taking the amazing road down to Hawes and stopping at the Wensleydale Creamery for tea and cake, before heading off to the A1. Hit some traffic so we came off again, plumbed in some more scenic routes and avoided almost all of the 15 mile tailback traffic, joining again right near the front. After that a troublefree run down the A1, stopping at Peterborough services for the goodbyes. brilliant weekend. might have to do 2 sets of routes for next time, meeting up at all the same places, but with very different roads. one of the sunday roads was mile and half with no passing places and high hedges, its one of the pics. luckily we didnt meet anything as that would have been awkward

What did you do to your zed today?
Wrynose, and we did that too. We came up from the south right where those 2 join, so we turned onto Hardknott first, did the most difficult section of hairpins, with the bumps causing lots of traction issues and fun, before turning round and doing them again to get back to Wrynose, Ambleside and The Struggle. It has been a blast today. really has. big grins.

wow. another great day. started off with Tom, visiting Ribblehead via some more nice roads, then a quick stop at Devil’s Bridge for ice cream. then we split up and it was Ian, me and Ayrton for the day. back to the “twisty route” satnav, and we have done some fantastic roads, going to the Lakeland museum, up to part of Hardknott, then Wrynose, the Struggle, Kirkstone, and then some really obscure roads back via Shap. out of the 150 or so miles, we did a maximum of 5 miles on main roads. the Kraftwerk Krew would have had Kittens on some of these roads, as a few bush scrapes might need a light polish out, and some very tight single roads and passing places, and lots of cows and sheep to avoid. a few more pics from the day- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
glad you all enjoyed it, i know i did :)- What did you do to your zed today?
yes mate, thats the one, but might be bank holiday busy with bikes...- What did you do to your zed today?
gave mine a thrashing round the north of england, hotly pursued by three other intrepid adventurous zeds and drivers. another day of it tomorrow with Ribblehead, Devils Bridge, and maybe museum or hardknott ;) awesome way to spend summer bank holiday, using my zed like it should be used :)- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August

any of the northern region members popping along for the drive on either day? its a club meet thats not down south ;)- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
our weekend has just started, as Ayrton and i are just leaving home now :D- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
yes, thats why i have tried to keep off main roads as much as i can. can certainly go up kirkstone on last leg and miss “the struggle” out of Ambleside, will just be a bit busy through Windermere, like you say hopefully about 7:30 Ian, as long as i can finish work by 3- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
depends which routes we want to do on each day, what type of roads and stops we want to do. we can discuss in the morning before we leave. i was thinking to try and leave about 10am on saturday, maybe similar time on sunday if you are doing both days? if you get there early, can also order dinner for the saturday evening so we can all eat together, if you were planning to do that as well?- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
sorry to hear that, and i am sure we have all been there at some point in our lives, so no need to be sorry, there is no let down there- What did you do to your zed today?
i need to get mine cleaned up a bit before then too, not sure if i will get a chance though, so might be in a dirty car (as usual...)- Sports and Classic by the Lake - Bury St Edmunds - Sunday 1st September 2019
1. Craig 2. Bedzee 3. Kgonzokia 4. Bayliner 5. Nikk- Sports and Classic by the Lake - Bury St Edmunds - Sunday 1st September 2019
we have a club stand and i should be receiving the passes through this week. i think i applied for 12. ideally looking for a few more cars though... ;) will put a facebook post up to see if i can fill a few spaces remember, this is a charity raising event for a local hospice, and this is the 10 year anniversary of this show. they give us a donation envelope instead of charging people entry for club stand, and we generally put in a fiver per car.- Display Car Vote : Classic Car Show : NEC 2019

have not heard anything back from them since sending the application. i will chase them up and see for you Paul- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
i don't have it anymore. Paul from the hotel gave it to me as a printout, and i had Nikk reading the notes as we drove, but not sure Ayrton would be able to do the same. The first part of the second route, going through Alston but coming down and missing out 3&4, is fairly similar. Although Paul did say i can discuss routes with him Friday night, so will see what we can do. Yeah, long range says 50% chance of showers over the whole weekend. Might make the roads quieter, especially if we want to do some of the more obscure mountain passes ;)- Lakes Weekend 2019 @ Fat Lamb 23rd to 26th August
drive planned for both saturday and sunday, which is why we chose the bank holiday weekend originally- Another one bites the dust.
