  1. gave mine a thrashing round the north of england, hotly pursued by three other intrepid adventurous zeds and drivers. another day of it tomorrow with Ribblehead, Devils Bridge, and maybe museum or hardknott ;) awesome way to spend summer bank holiday, using my zed like it should be used :)
  2. a few pics from a fantastic day. definitely got well off the beaten track at times as well.
  3. any of the northern region members popping along for the drive on either day? its a club meet thats not down south ;)
  4. our weekend has just started, as Ayrton and i are just leaving home now :D
  5. yes, thats why i have tried to keep off main roads as much as i can. can certainly go up kirkstone on last leg and miss “the struggle” out of Ambleside, will just be a bit busy through Windermere, like you say hopefully about 7:30 Ian, as long as i can finish work by 3
  6. depends which routes we want to do on each day, what type of roads and stops we want to do. we can discuss in the morning before we leave. i was thinking to try and leave about 10am on saturday, maybe similar time on sunday if you are doing both days? if you get there early, can also order dinner for the saturday evening so we can all eat together, if you were planning to do that as well?
  7. sorry to hear that, and i am sure we have all been there at some point in our lives, so no need to be sorry, there is no let down there
  8. i need to get mine cleaned up a bit before then too, not sure if i will get a chance though, so might be in a dirty car (as usual...)
  9. 1. Craig 2. Bedzee 3. Kgonzokia 4. Bayliner 5. Nikk
  10. we have a club stand and i should be receiving the passes through this week. i think i applied for 12. ideally looking for a few more cars though... ;) will put a facebook post up to see if i can fill a few spaces remember, this is a charity raising event for a local hospice, and this is the 10 year anniversary of this show. they give us a donation envelope instead of charging people entry for club stand, and we generally put in a fiver per car.
  11. have not heard anything back from them since sending the application. i will chase them up and see for you Paul
  12. i don't have it anymore. Paul from the hotel gave it to me as a printout, and i had Nikk reading the notes as we drove, but not sure Ayrton would be able to do the same. The first part of the second route, going through Alston but coming down and missing out 3&4, is fairly similar. Although Paul did say i can discuss routes with him Friday night, so will see what we can do. Yeah, long range says 50% chance of showers over the whole weekend. Might make the roads quieter, especially if we want to do some of the more obscure mountain passes ;)
  13. drive planned for both saturday and sunday, which is why we chose the bank holiday weekend originally
  14. more pics on the advert... :whistling:
  15. i think the traffic through windermere will be a problem whichever way we go. I have prepared a couple of different routes on my satnav, but trying to find stopping points where you can get decent pictures is a problem when you dont really know the area  the first one takes in Ribblehead Viaduct, Devils Bridge, and the Motor Museum, before returning back via some back roads and passes. (The struggle and kirkstone in reverse of the route we finished last year) the next one goes in and out of Alston a couple of times, and up to Hadrians wall and avoids the lakes, with some minor roads with good views. the other 2 are round the lakes taking in most of the main passes round the lakes, even the really tough ones, if we really want a challenge :whistling: and includes a pub stop at Wasdale Head which TonyB mentioned last year. the route range from 4-7 hours in total not including stops, so would be very weather and traffic dependent.
  16. My Morocco trip might be pushed back a week, so i might make this too before i go. 1: Funkysi (Simon) 2: AndrewG 3: nickz32 4: Joely P 5: RichardS 6: ianl 7. Andyb 8. Kgonzokia (paul) 9. Bigh 10. andy300zx 11. wayne 12. Craig
  17. love that old Fairlady Trish, that is awesome
  18. am getting a quote from Lancaster for similar for one of our zeds, should be in the next day or so, will let you know.
  19. just working on some routes and alternatives for the weekend. any of you guys coming have any particular dislike for single track roads? am using my bike satnav and "thrill route" feature to get us off the main roads for bank holiday weekend, but checking them out in google streetview to make sure they at least have tarmac on them
  20. hi Dave, nice to see you back here. Are you planning to stay a while? :)
  21. Yes, i know it's been getting stricter each year, and also the sponsors only get a limited allocation of tickets as well now, if any depending on their size/contribution... It is starting to happen at some of the other motorsport classes now too, not just F1. Sad times for the real grass root fans that properly appreciate that type of dream access, and can't afford to just buy their way in to the experience.
  22. i think you will find the paddock passes and experiences for all teams and venues are managed by the same company, which you already have the pricing detail for. all links lead back there, and have done for quite a few years now. even if you speak to one of the teams directly, they will redirect you there. the only alternative is to know someone at the team, or a sponsor, who might have some "perks" passes granted to them for direct access to their pit and the pit lane in general.
  23. ah, grasscutter
