  1. Just bought set of Lexus Sport Alloys 18". Checked PCD, checked ET but never gave inner diameter a thought. Took back wheel off Z and found that the Lex won't fit, the centre's too small. Dunno how practical or economic it would be to have rebates cut or whether it's better to resell them. Will cost me £25 to join Lexus site to advertise 'em there.  Don't even really like them now I have 'em.
  2. Smithy is your man for turboes/turbos
  3. Try Ali Irfan: aliirfan911@hotmail.com
  4. See here: http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/BOVS.htm
  5. The Zed engine is tough, how come you bust it? How much d'you want spend? Shot peen and crack test crank; have crank, rods and pistons balanced. Uprated turboes. Mebbe skim head. Have word with Z engine specialists.
  6. Do you have polyurethane bushes? I heard from an acquaintance that they can sometimes do that.
  7. Yes UK cars have 245. You don't want to have tyres much older than 6 years on your car anyway.
  8. Useful info here: http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/Induction.htm The hidden bolts are a pain especially the two attaching the splash guard. Try 10mm on 1/2" drive ratchet - one of them bust my 5/16" hex driver. You might have dig away the plastic of the std filter box, soft stuff and there's no value in old boxes.
  9. As james300 has already mentioned, AndyZ is always worth a call before buying new stuff. Saved me a packet and next day delivery too.
  10. The Apexi came out best in a test of four best known makes. The site address is on this board somewhere.
  11. If you've run the car up ramps and jacked the front end up, then it should be easy. You won't be able to do it without the weight off the wheels.
  12. Shipping costs are usually fair but the heavier the item the higher the price. You could try asking for surface shipping for heavy items but it/they will take a lot longer to arrive. There comes a point when it's not economic to buy from the 'States. What are you after?
  13. Can u borrow a garage jack to lift whole front end? Then you could probably creep forwards. If you drive without tension rods then the wheels will likely splay. If you have someone to watch the front you might get away with it.
  14. Gold star fer me - I was right....
  15. It's physics! If you put a wider tyre on, all that happens is that the tyre does not squash down as much in the rolling line. Same area in contact with the road. You've seen tractors with double wheels? That does not improve the grip but spreads the load so that the wheels do not sink so much. Trust me, I'm a scientist.
  16. If you get code 55 then that shows all tests clear.
  17. Try AndyZ. Otherwise I have a spare (UK) tailgate that you could take the glass from.
  18. Width of tyre makes no difference to grip, you still get the same area in contact with the ground. Grip is down to the type of rubber - and the surface it's on. Softer rubber = better grip but quicker wear.
  19. You need to sort the det sensor circuit as the system will stop the engine from working properly.
  20. Zcentre has them. £100 ea, £80 for centre section + v.a.t. and carriage. The eBay source may only be the conversion kit. I did that and it's a pain to do. Very likely will change to new units when I am less poor. The sticker seemed like a good idea at the time; existing plastic is cracking.
  21. I hope that you have her up on some damned strong, stable stands. Rent a garage!
  22. Dunno! Have a set of iridium tipped here but not measure the gap yet, mainly because I've lost my feeler gauges.
  23. They might be right but it's best to check. 0.044". Did you get the right plugs? std is PFR6B-11
