  1. Thanx. With the aid of a mirror I see where the screw is and the light. (Dunno why I thought it would be really easy on a Z) Code 11 = CAS, hopefully just the connection.
  2. Easy.....easy.......... Buy another Z :D  Problem sorted. And we hope that your wife's mother will be better soon.
  3. Didn't express that very well...no 'trouble' light shows. I had assumed that if there was a problem that the ecu would show then a 'trouble' light would show. Not done an ecu test b4; read the instructions on TTZs but no mention of unbolting the unit to see in the window or d'u use a mirror?
  4. Hehe Fas.... The Zed's compensation then? ;) ok Stu, there may be folks worse off but all that money you've spent....eek.
  5. Hah! Only an acronym if the abbreviation makes a word or something that sounds like a word. Bit strange that 'abbreviation' is such a long word.
  6. Don't yet know whether it's spark or fuel. Another pair of hands coming over on Sat.
  7. Nothing shows on dash. Could PTU cause intermittent fault?
  8. Yep, poly from Zcentre; fit those first (better still, get someone else to do that). You might find the judder gone. Did you air-drive or torque the wheel nuts?
  9. Why not lie about the cost? Treat her to something.
  10. She's done it again. Perfectly fine yesterday, starts on the first revolution. Today, just spins but no fire.
  11. Jack her up, put axle stands in place and have a look with a good light. Pit or lift, even better. Should not be too terrible.
  12. Wouldn't bother with TC on n/a - not a good use of money. Get TT, breathe on it a bit then fit TC. 'bout £850 and fit it yourself - see smw1's mods site. (http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/TractionControl.htm)
  13. That's ok then - I've already bought those things. :D
  14. Sure, bought plenty items off both. Hey! keep off, it's my secret source of bargains.
  15. Could be a lot worse. Spare a thought for poor Stuart aka smw1.
  16. If you want to do a proper job, run the engine with flushing oil for about 20 mins with old filter in place. Drain that then fit new filter and fill with the new oil. Think that 40 is a bit low for the Z engine, am I right?
  17. I can recommend the secure ie version of explorer. Stops all intrusion and keeps your computer safer and browsing is noticably faster. http://www.secureie.com btw WindowsXP has a built-in firewall, just needs enabling. I assume that everyone has the AVG Anti-virus prog running? (It's free)
  18. Not gone down that route......yet. Reading posts here looks like you should call SE Nissan and/or Zedworld. Have you changed the induction first? De-catted? Bear in mind the age and mileage of your car.
  19. The chip in the ecu needs to be unsoldered and then a socket soldered in. The chip sellers are usually keen to do the whole job so that they know that it's done right. Could be an expensive experiment to do it y'self! Not been infected with chip bug yet.....
  20. Next decision is: 17" 18" 19" Then what style in that size?

afaik as long as the fluid level is ok and the light stays off when driving, then all is ok.
  22. Are you used to working with electronic components? Are you a good solderer/desolderer?
  23. For a tenner you can have the filters I just took out. Hardly done any mileage.
  24. How about fitting turbo or supercharger?
