  1. Well he's adamant he won't come up, still can't work how my wife can be mean to him when she never spoke to him? Think we'll be getting some legal advice on this, impact is massive and all his mum can say is its his decision! I'm sure all 11 years olds can make such a big decision!!! Ex must be loving this as her twisting if things has caused this, I've seen my son once since mid July and won't see him until end of the month :-( Really don't need the stress on top of everything else, the wife is devastated after she has done SO much for him it makes me angry that he is being so selfish to her and to me as all I really need is his support.
  2. Best turn the swear filter on, I'm going to need advice. My manipulative, sl@t of an ex-wife has used this episode to turn my 12 year old son against my wife. To say I am devistated and so f@@king angry is an understatement. So not only do I need to get better, accept living with an ileostomy I have to work how to fix this while my son won't now come to the house to see me. I've seen him once since before the op 24th July. My wife was texting the ex after the op to ask her to bring Tomos in to see me, she refused. My wife kept asking telling her I wanted to see him and that everyone should put me first to help me. She basically said she didn't care and he wasn't coming, they live 3 miles from the hospital. I sent a few messages later and the response was he's scared so we said fair enough and didn't ask again. Now when I've asked for him to come over for the weekend which he did once a fortnight he refuses as he said my wife was mean to him trying to make him visit. Bearing in mind my wife never communicated directly with Tomos that only leaves the ex passing on the request and the ex says 'it's his decision" ! Don't know what to do and it's something I could do without atm
  3. Jealous, can't dive until next year due to the surgery!!! Still at this rate and the way this country is going I'm bringing our plans to move forward 12 months.....
  4. Have you though of taking it to France with you and selling over there? Reason I ask is my last Z went to a guy in Germany who makes a lot of money buying Jap cars here and selling over there. They command a much higher price on mainland Europe as they are rarer, having it based in France opens up several countries to sell it into, quite easy to open a German/French etc Ebay account. A bit of hassle sorting MOT / tax etc but at least you'd get to drive it again for one last time..
  5. Sounds more like a buzzing noise, not like a usual bottom end death rattle?
  6. 2 nights a week away in Luton but at least I have internet but it is boring and seems such a waste of time in the evenings.
  7. Well guess who's going home tomorrow... ! 10 weeks after it all started I'm homeward bound after some meetings about home care. We spent quite some time with the surgeon Friday, who that morning had a meeting with all the clinical leads in this field about my case. The unanimous decision was that currently my body isn't strong enough to be put through an 5/6 hour operation, the risks right now in doing it out weighs any benefits now they know there isn't any extra bowel. A major factor in this decision has been down to the difficulties and challenges that I have faced over the past few months - as unexpected as they were its put my body in a vulnerable position and operating now to "finish the job" is too risky. It's not the news we wanted or expected I was shocked, upset and very disappointed about this decision , as I really wanted this to be all over but having talked things through with Kerry we feel a little better and I think I can see their reasons. Step going forward are that I will be looked after by two key consultants - mr hawthorn (who we know well) & the surgeon. Both will see me regularly and will monitor progress, monitor blood levels as several things are at low levels and look to give me the best solutions to the situation now - aiming to get me back to full strength. They want me to get my life back and get well and recovered. Then in 6 months time if I am well and strong enough they'll look to finish the operation. Although I may decide not to have it if I can manage things as they are as that is a possible option. So that's where we are. It's going to be strange for me coming home, being surrounded by people all day
  8. This is what makes me mad, kids that have no road sense as cost cutting means they don't teach it in schools anymore, mr tuffty is long gone. And then drivers get the blame for the accident, what ever speed they were doing.
  9. I was thinking as well. Gap insurance does make sense but surely if the accident is your own fault? Otherwise you pay extra premiums to cover the difference if it's someone else's mistake if they cause the accident? Surely the legal cover most policies offer are there for you to reclaim loses, i.e. in this case the finance difference ? After all it covert hire cars, taxis etc
  10. Boomshell today!!! With the lack of extra bowel the doc says the next op won't help the high output. This means he's now possibly not in a rush to do the next stage and is thinking of sending me home! Whilst I would love to go home, it means I could wait 2 weeks to 2 months for the op that I do need to remove and reposition things which was part of the whole picture, there's so many things I'm not ready for to do at home, prep by the stoma nurses, home care as wife is back in work, high codeine dosage means driving is unsafe and it would mean I'm off work longer as by the time I'm better he could pull me back in for the next op. My head feels so messed with now as for the last 2-3 weeks we've prepared for an op in the next 7-10 days max, so stressed now its not real.
  11. Had some tests done today, barium trace to see how how small bowel left between the stoma and the pouch. done by injecting a trace liquid into the stoma and x-ray. Then barium drink to see how much small bowel between the stomach and stoma. Seems there's more than they thought so they thought the high output could be caused by a lack of bowel seems not to be the case. Not sure how this impacts future plans ?? Both left me feeling quite sick and rubbish, that was then compounded by an email from work saying they are cutting my pay. So the wife is off to see the bank to see if we can see switch mortgage to interest only !
  12. Could you not just feed the vent into the intake side to save fitting a cc and get rid of the smell?
  13. Well been in now for 9 weeks and have managed not to go mad! I've been allowed days out inbetween treatments (back by 7pm) which has been nice and as I feel a lot better for it. Managed to claw my weight up from 62.5 to 68kg in 3 weeks, the MRSA is now clear and the antibiotics finish tomorrow so free from a drip for the 1st time in the 9 weeks. Also this week I have some tests in prep for the operation. Barium trace, so they inject a barium liquid in through the stoma and x-ray/scan me so they can map out the internal pouch and see how much small bowel I have they can add into the system. Fun starts Wednesday 9.30!!
  14. I gave reguarly right up to the point where I had a few pints back !!

  18. Why not contact the insurance ombudsman if they won't move from that stance?

  21. 22 years next month
  22. So saw the surgeon today, this is 100% the way he's going. So in about 3 weeks the antibiotics should be done and I've put on a few kgs he will go back in. Cut off anymore adhesions on the bowel, resite the stoma at the end of the bowel I have and remove the old pouch I had done 16 yrs ago. Think it's about 6 hrs of surgery and they go back in through the same scar that has just healed so back to square one in the healing process, no driving, lifting etc for 6 weeks and hopefully we won't have the bowel not working issue this time! It is for the best to get it all done and finished now rather than in 6 months but a tough time ahead again
  23. Lol, not quite technically. I paid the garage before I came in about 8 weeks ago and he's finishing it. Last pics it was white. I'm gutted Iv'e missed another summer with out a Z, last one was 2011 !
