You will need to listen to all of your injectors with your screwdriver as you may think its clicking away but you may just be hearing the others along the rail. Check all six are pulsing just as loud. I have just gone through this same problem, it was a failed injector and faulty O2, see my thread :)

Hi, when my z has been sat over night and u start it up there is a whine come from the engine, it only lasts a minute or so and I think it is worse when the clutch is pressed, not 100% but sure it's louder, the problem is it gets quieter and quieter the longer the engine runs giving me little time to diagnose, also, the whine changes frequency in relation to engine speed. It sounds like it may be a belt whining, how can I diagnose or what else should I be checking? Thanks, Dan

When my ignition is on there is a fan noise that I have never heard before coming from behind the map light panel between the targa panels, I unclipped the light panel just to have a look at what it was the noise is coming from, what is it? Why is mine now noisy? (And dusty)??

Swapped over the O2 sensor on the near side, and so far so good..

Tested the ptu, got 14v out of each, set the tps to .45. It's still spitting the near side exhaust. And still hesitant on light throttle ...

I am swapping them plugs tonight, what's the procedure for checking the cas? I unplugged the maf and it ran terrible, 100% worse-so plugged it straight back in..

By the way, I replaced my ngk r pfr6b 11c to denso k20tt I am now thinking I have been sold the wrong plugs?

The symptoms Only does it when engine is up to temp Appears to be near side bank as the exhaust that side spits and shakes lumpy when up to temp Very light throttle then clears up as the revs rise slightly The lighter the throttle the more violent the mis/hesitation So far; Changed the spark plugs Swapped the coil packs side to side Checked the injectors have resistance all the same as each other Checked and cleaned all plugs inc lambda, water temp, throttle position injector and coil pack What now?

I swapped my black dummy lenses for crystal ones some time back and ran the sidelight and indicator lamps to the that unit instead of the original, (the long term plan was to get fog lamp units and install them). Anyway, I now want US spec corner units instead. Anyone either managed to get hold of any or modified one you already have to look US? Cheers, Dan

Looks like my egr has been blanked off, can the egr valve be unplugged and the whole system be totally removed from my car without either putting the car into limp mode or putting cel on? Thanks,

Something, unless my replacement injector was already faulty is causing these injectors on this particular cylinder to fail, could the replacement clip be on wrong? I imagine there is no right or rlwrong way for the two cables!? Or maybe something corrupt in the ecu??

I don't want to paint it, or polish it, just freshen it back up, what's best a stiff brush and brake cleaner?

No I don't , to update, it definatly only on one bank, all 5 injectors tested between 12.8 and 13, one tested 120!?? Also, removed the plenum tonight and it looks like the gasket has been broken up for some time and had silicone on to repair it. I am now thinking, when I replaced my injector, we moved the plenum over slightly to aid us getting to both screws so could of disturbed the plenum seal, also, it's odd that just one inject on the multi meter read so high!??

It's running a mines ecu, has been for past 4 years now. It was running perfect, since this new injector and new spark plugs have gone in the hesitation has come, the connector is a bit dodgy on the injector so going try source a better one Tomoro from a local scrappy that has a z in, if the connection is loose would it cause a hesitation? Or, would it cause a permanent mis? :s thanks

Hmm, I have a bee r rev limiter, when the handbrake light is on the limiter comes on a 2500rpm, when my maf was unplugged the limiter came in at 2500 rpm!? And I treble checked my handbrake wasn't on. After driving it again this evening it's definatly a hesitation on light throttle and I can definatly get it to clear as soon as I press the accelerator a little more..

Should the throttle position sensor need adjusting after replacing spark plugs and an injector, it to me ages to get it set up right last time. Also, checked all my connections and all are clean, clean enough to be working anyway. I also disconnected the maf sensor and it was misfiring really really bad, almost undriveable..

Whats the best product to use for cleaning all the green corrosion off my engine loom plugs? Thanks, Dan

After my misfire last week I changed the spark plugs and replaced an injector that turned out to be duff. Now, I have a slight misfire that only happens on very light throttle. If I press the accelerator pedal to the floor the misfire clears up but then when I am back to light throttle like when cruising the mis comes back. I can get it to misfire in neutral too by bring the revs up slowly. What should I be checking now? Thanks, Dan
