  1. I have now installed two blitz bov's on my z. The problem is throttle a now not as smooth as it was with the recircs. For example if I plant my foot and build boost only to about 5psi and slowly release the throttle the car jerks. I assume this is because of the measured air isn't being matched by actual air, correct? Others with bov's must have experienced this? I am planning on having the car mapped soon on a rolling road, will this eradicate the problem? Thanks, Dan
  2. What product/methos do you find brings life back to these ageing, fading parts? I painted my scuttle panel matt black which worked well but dont fancy removing each and every trim piece to paint, especially this time of year. Thanks
  3. Paint any condition as it will be painted. Ideally no cracks or pieces missing. Shipped to stoke on trent or I can collect from midlands. Thanks, Dan
  4. I'm interested, how do I get in touch with Noel?
  5. It would be nice to get my car onto a rolling road and be mapped and boost set to what the car can comfortably take. It currently runs 10psi with a decat, mushroom filters and a Mines ECU. A friend suggested a stand alone ecu, as the Mines one probably wont be able to be tuned. What does a stand alone ecu mean? I have heard Horsham Developments down South are good with Nistune... Again, I`m lost lol! Can anyone shed some light onto this for me? And maybe someone in the Midlands that has had experience tuning 300ZX`s Many thanks, Dan
  6. I have replaced my turbo on that side last year. How on earth did you locate that was the cause? Trial and error?
  7. Cheers, but its definitely coming from in front of the passenger footwell somewhere, either below or in front of the firewall somewhere.
  8. Cheers, I will check for any loose shields at the weekend. If it's not a shield then it seems a little inconclusive.. Thanks
  9. Thanks, I can say it only happens in 2nd and 4th gear. It is worse in 2nd... click to play video (i think)
  10. The rattle seems engine speed dependant. As the revs rise the rattle phases out..
  11. After a left or right turn and I accelerate there is a momentary rattle that's seems to be coming from the front passenger side area. The rattle starts at low pitch then phases out soon after.. It's very hard to explain the noise I will try to take a video to show the noise. Thanks
  12. Cheers, How do you know which turbos got and which don't? Thanks
  13. Last year I replaced my near side smoking turbo for a used unit. It has lasted me 12 months but has now also started to smoke on idle. I have however only noticed it has started to smoke since installing an atmospheric bov on that side, could that have had an effect on making my turbo on that side smoke? What are my options for turbo replacement? I would only want new, branded units and preferably more powerful ones... Thanks, Dan
  14. I assume I am hearing the turbo spinning backwards as there is not enough boost pressure to move the bov spring?? Thanks
  15. Sorry, I mean when I release the throttle whilst boosting anything up to about 5 psi I can hear the turbo chattering.
  16. I have replaced on of my recircs for a blitz bov. I plan to get another when I can drop on one for a good price. What I have found though is it seems to be very quiet. Also, anything less than half boost i can hear the turbo stalling... Which way do I need to wind the spring? Thanks
  17. Sorry ignore me, I assumed ebay. Doh
  18. Out of interest what were you bidding on? Z related? As I too have been bidding on eBay for two blitz bovs that finished yesterday...
  19. Does anyone have a stock recirc laying about that you could measure the inlet diameter for me, basically I want to know the diameter of the hose that joins onto it, this is so I can order all my bits up for my bov install before I start to strip it down. many thanks
  20. To update, I am still after a replacement pipe. I have undone the PCV valve and re-installed but not yet leak tested. I have installed a different type of boost controller and I now have adjustable boost. I couldnt get the fist one I installed to give me anything above 6/7 psi.
  21. Which do you use on your z? Which is more reliable and safer? Or is there no difference?? Cheers
  22. Yes that's right, the end that clamps onto the throttle body has a very small tear in it, so I need to get a replacement, sort the pcv valve thread then retest. I understand then that this is looking to be the most likely cause of my boosting problems? Thanks
  23. Ok, we have checked the actuators and both start open at 6/7psi. After performing the leak test we got a leak on the passenger side pipe that links the hard pipe upto the throttle body, to which we have temporarily repaired-so a I need to source one of those ASAP, also have a leak on the same side at the thread on the pcv valve. Nothing else seems to be leaking as of yet but can't pressurise until these have been fixed. Thanks
  24. Incase it is the actuator, are they servicable? If not, where can I buy then from? Thanks
  25. Fantastic, makes sense as the car boosts when the hose is off. I am also going to get hold of a mityvac and test them also. Thanks
