  1. Yes they are visibly longer and the new column cover is proof of that. But the design of the airbag wheel is not the same as the none airbag wheel. Here are the photos of what Ive learned and recorded from my research on the matter. Even though Ive only been able to find LHD column as reference the internal parts are basically the same and in the same position. As you can see the none airbag wheel when fitted back into place just clears the new column cover. The other thing i discovered was the combination switch for the indicator stork, still fits in the correct position for the new column to screw into so the indicator stork doesnt move for regardless of what wheel you have. But you need a newer style combination switch unit which im in the order of getting from japan atm. So obiviously the airbag wheel must be different.
  2. Hey Simon, after reading your post about the differences in steering columns ive decided i would like to see for myself as not 100% convinced the columns changed that much. But i have taken your information as reason to take things slow. Now my car has the CC already installed but i would like the airbag wheel just like you. Now i recently acquired the CC Column cover and did a test fit on my 89 model equipment. and yes the newer airbag column cover is longer and wider so the airbag wheel which is wider sits flush with the new cloumn cover. On the 89 steering wheel it will just fit in place minus the rear cover section. But ive discovered the Airbag wheel has a longer holding neck for the locking grooves to fit in which will give you the little bit extra length the old wheel doesnt have. Ive been looking heaps of photos of the airbag wheel and the steering column setup and i think it will work. How far did you go into your research. Was it test fitting or just looking at it from a distance?
  3. Yeah i think i remember this also. The parts were all discontinued back in 1994 so the chances of new stock is completely impossible. Unfortunately, i dont want to risk online transaction and prefer to go through 3rd party sources. If im lucky a second hand pair of windows and sills might turn up which i can buy in the future but for now i just have to wish i had them.
  4. Thanks legrath, i have tried 3 part suppliers here in aus, experienced in importing parts from Japan. All said the same thing. Are the part numbers Nissan numbers? I got the numbers from my Nissan fast parts program and they do look like they are odd looking Nissan part numbers. Ill drop him a pm but i figured the fact these specific parts where only available from 1989-1994 would mean that even if Nissan did recongise the numbers they wouldn't have any stock left for me.
  5. Damn man ive been after these for a few months. According to my sources i cant get these brand new from nissan as the part numbers dont even exist for some reason. Hopefully one day i will have them in my hot little hands.
  6. That's the SR-71 special edition for the USDM market.
  7. Yeh it had been raining heavily the day before and the weather was overcast most of the day. Had little spots of rain here and there but shortly after i left to go home it just tipped down with rain. And i think the rest of the group finished up also. Yeah RENZED's car had just been resprayed a couple of days ago after a new stillen bodykit was fitted. It was stunning all day. 9. Hey guys, just thought id post up a few pix of the cruise i went on recently. We were planing to head up to the Great Ocean Road which if some of you remember was awesome But had to change our plans due to bad weather conditions the day before. Anyways couple of us Z enthusiasts meet at the original meet point for the GOR and pretty much made up organised a cruise meeting other members during the day. So here are the pix, hope you guys like them.
  10. Ok so i decided to try and erase the codes and then check the result of the AT diag. and now im getting alot of extra errors and or less errors. First time i checked all was indicated was the TPS signal no VHC sensor lised. So i erased the code and checked the diagnostics again. This time it stated no errors. I thought this might be a case of the program still running and keeping the error code deleted. So i turned off conzult and tested again. Here is what i came up with I deleted the codes just to double check and again no error codes and after a few attempts of closing down conzult turning the car on and off and starting the AT diag. i got this next set of errors So no im unsure which error is right or wrong now. Would this inconsistency mean the AT control unit itself is damaged??
