  1. Hey guys, just thought id post up a few pix of the cruise i went on recently. We were planing to head up to the Great Ocean Road which if some of you remember was awesome But had to change our plans due to bad weather conditions the day before. Anyways couple of us Z enthusiasts meet at the original meet point for the GOR and pretty much made up organised a cruise meeting other members during the day. So here are the pix, hope you guys like them.
  2. Ok so i decided to try and erase the codes and then check the result of the AT diag. and now im getting alot of extra errors and or less errors. First time i checked all was indicated was the TPS signal no VHC sensor lised. So i erased the code and checked the diagnostics again. This time it stated no errors. I thought this might be a case of the program still running and keeping the error code deleted. So i turned off conzult and tested again. Here is what i came up with I deleted the codes just to double check and again no error codes and after a few attempts of closing down conzult turning the car on and off and starting the AT diag. i got this next set of errors So no im unsure which error is right or wrong now. Would this inconsistency mean the AT control unit itself is damaged??
  3. I havent tried eraseing the codes as i wasnt sure it would remove the error from the ECU's memory. I am new to Conzult so need to practice to learn about this stuff:). My auto has had shifting problems for the past 8 months. I have tried heasp of times to activate the Auto Diagnostics problem but it has never started for me and i brought Conzult as a way to do the diagnostics. What is HKS ALC?? I agree there must be a short in the harness somewhere but i dont know where to look yet. Probably should get my mechanic to look at it.

Ok i finally hooked up my conZult program to my car to test the A/T for error codes and this is what came up http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k276/DJ_Party_Favor/ATErrorCode.jpg Now i have just replaced my TPS unit with a brand new one so im guessing their might be a short somewhere in the harness. i set the new TPS to .45 a few days ago without conzult but used a multimeter to set it to .45 volts and today conzult is coming up as .46 in engine mode section but on the A/T mode it says .50 is this normal??? All cylinders came up green. and no error codes in the ECU. So what do you guys think?
  5. Ive completed this conversion on my series 1 89 model and im very happy with the mod. Though my series 1 A/C pod was running perfectly the series 2 presented more options for control on where you wanted air flow to go. The major set back for this mod is the fact the JDM Amplifier (Heater ECU) as its called is discontinued from nissan and so no new units can be brought from nissan anymore. I tried for at least 6 months before having to accepted the only amplifier i could get was a USDM which reads temperature in Fahrinheit, but ive now became use to the difference in the display.
  6. Ah seems we have the same idea funkysi. Im looking at getting the battery box cover as well but was unsure if it was a universal or specific size cover. Ill be keeping an eye on this thread to see if any developments arise.
  7. Cheers thanx DTA, i checked my Nissan fast which did show a different part number and ABS unit compared to the 89 model one. Still would be very expensive and time consuming to convert the 89 system to the later one.

  9. Is it normal for the window to rattle when its down inside the door. Did nissan upgrade the winodw system to decrease wear and tear by any chance.
  10. Ive check this cars vin on my nissan fast program and it is a 99spec. The stereo shroud had 3 different typres, standard black trim, carbon fiber and wood grain. Ill do another check and get some more information if anyone is interested.
  11. Ok kool, well i have adjusted the TPS to make the car shift earlier but havent checked the voltage reading yet. Like i said this only happens on odd occasion when i turn the ignition to on. Unfortunately ive been working so much i havent had the ability to go to a tech day and have a conzult done on my car to check for error codes. Thank you for the info tho mate if its possibly related to the TPS or the speed sensor then i might get them checked.
  12. On random ocansions when i start my car my Power light flashes 10 - 13 times. Im pretty sure this is indicating an error with the transmission but i cant seem to get my auto diagnostics to work either. Any ideas guys or do i need to run a diagnostics?
  13. Is there a sensor inside the water tank? As my light wont come on even when i run out of water. And yes i know its out of water cuz theres no water coming from the hood jets.
  14. This is the updated cluster setup found on the 92 - 00 models. Im looking to upgrade my 89 cluster to this type (i hope). I havent had a good clear picture of the back but this is a jem to me atm anyways. I dont see why i cant swap the clusters over. I might need to swap connector wires to match the correct circuitary copper lines but this gives me more hope its doable.
  15. Sweet metal clips. Didnt know they changed them. Hopefully i can get the metal ones and never have to worry about my passenger going on me and having to refab one from metal (Did for my dirvers).
  16. Cheers thanx for the info. My car is a jap spec, as im from australia so the kph is standard over here. Now ive done a comparison of the 2 face plates and even though the 2k face is larger it still looks like it will fit in the same place as the original smaller face. Though i cant make a complete comparison as the circuitary on the new gauge made close up checking impossible. But as ive said this was a lost reesort plan after all avenues had been tried. Im hoping to find the part number for the looms for the cluster in nissan fast which should solve the problem with the different plugs. But if i find any other information ill post it here.
  17. Finally some answers, I agree its not a simple job and i think i remember your post about your attempt to add a older (90) cluster into your 95 model but could succeed. Atm im working on getting the white gauges first becuase im sure i can just transfer the face plates from one speedo to the next. But i was hoping to buy the complete cluster from the 2kspec and modify the wiring looms to match the circuitary at the back of the cluster. I dont intend to modify my existing cluster (89) but do a complete swop. I will try to get an auto elect. to help me but ill try and gather more parts and slowly. But could it be a matter of swapping the cluster wiring looms if i can obtain them.

I recently acquired a gauge part from the 2000spec instrument cluster and as i execpted when i compared the new part with a part from a 90 model cluster there was a big difference with the mounting screws making replacment impossible. I was expecting this outcome and have always planned to swap the face plates over so i can use my original cluster if i needed to. Now ive read a few threads about how different the 94+ cluster is compared to the 89 cluster. Ive been checking on Nissan fast (offical nissan spare parts program) and it seems nissan changed the cluster design in 92 (by what nissan fast is showing me) I can see the difference of the 2 clusters but what i want to know is, What needs to be done to convert my 89 model so a cluster from a 94 model can be installed plug and play so to speak. If its a matter of finding the correct wiring loom for the cluster plugs i should be able to find it but can i just alter the pin setup of the 89 model and match that with the copper tracks from the new cluster??? I just want to research as much as possible. I would consider getting an auto elect. to rewire the 89 loom to match but i dout its as easy as im hoping it to be.
