  1. What's the best stuff to use on exhaust joints? Got one of those japspeed ones with metal gaskets. I was thinking maybe using 1600 degree high temp RTV? Good or bad idea?
  2. Lets find out!
  3. Parked on the left as you go down.
  4. pure alcohol works well, isopropanol to be exact. Takes the black gunk away easily without harming the plastics!
  5. Cheers for the comments :) Was down there early this evening talking to the owner himself. I'd be training alongside a pro model builder (who used to be an F1 mechanic for Williams). Literally I'd be helping create and put the parts together from start to finish, airbrushing it doing all the logos etc. Also repairing them. The issue is the speed at which I can do it. That's the difference between pro model makers and me a hobbyist. The chap even came out to have a ganders at the 300 lol.
  6. Chuffed so far, going to be doing a trial over the next month or so a couple of days a week to see if I've got what it takes. The company hand make 1/8 & 1/4 scale models of F1 and sports cars. Some of which cost more than my Zed. They also make F1 steering wheels. Should be interesting as they are having a visit from a guy at Buggatti - who want a scale Veyron made! Time for a beer out the fridge :hyper:
  7. Seen the same colour car again this morning near Avon street. Had quite a loud exhaust and the chap driving was quite a stocky looking fella!
  8. Saw you at about 5.35 sunday, turning left off the Kingsway down Bryant's Hill
  9. Not to sure on these kits. They look like, well just like a stuck on kit. My zed came with a nasty (and I mean nasty) wood effect trim kit just like that. The bloke who had the car imported paid nearly £200 to have it made. Took me 4 hours to remove it. Took half the skin off my fingers too.
  10. 1 advisory - Slightly rusty backboxes. Not surprising as they are the originals, 12.5 years old lol. MOT bloke wants to pay me to fabricate a screen into his Scoob dash too. Well chuffed.
  11. Not received them yet - Dispatched on the 8th March. Radiator hose adaptor needs to be 34mm!
  12. Next car I think has to be an early 90's corvette. Supercharged. Or maybe, depending one of these. V12, plus I get a free driving lane wherever I go. :)
  13. cheers lads. i will check these places out. Avon customs looks pretty good but it`s a bit far - I`m in Hanham. Yewcheck: How much did that cost ya for the colour change and how long? cheers jay
  14. Anyone have any recommendations? Still got to get the wing sprayed up plus a couple of scratches need sorting.and possibly I might go for a 99 spec front as well so it`s got to be a good job. cheers jay ---
  15. this is the route I took when I did mine. Down the side off the battery and there is a little plastic cover with a hole notched into it. Into the space behind the arch liner. There's a huge rubber grommet in the hole in the pic, make a hole in it - through there and out into the cabin. Silicone it back up.
  16. Sounds good. Did you get stung with import taxes? They say they use USPS, so hopefully if like the last five boxes I've gotten from CZP there won't be any charges :)
  17. Awsome! I will order from there. Shipping works out to $26 which is good. I did find another site but they wanted $148 to ship three gauges - outrageous... Does anyone know the top rad hose inner diameter? I'l get the water temp adaptor as well then.
  18. Having insane trouble finding places that sell gauges. Where can I buy Prosport ones like ta, Jay
  19. About to order up some gauges (oil pressure, water temp, and boost). Reading back through the forum I understand I need one of these Gizmos I was just wondering - is there enough space around there oil filter area? I.e. when the pressure sender is screwed into this adaptor has it got room. The pics of the senders i`ve seen look quite large. cheers jay
  20. My zed doesn't have these (think it was a cost cutting thing). Can one of you guys tell me how they are attached? If they are bolted on its a bummer as there's no holes for bolts on mine. Would it be ok if I used something like tigerseal to bond them on or is that a bit risky? The force of the wind is quite strong at high speed. (guy behind might get a nasty surprise hit his windscreen!) I'm just annoyed because at 70-80mph the wind flipping resonates over the top and it feels like there's a jackhammer pressed against my head. jay ---
  21. Try this: http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/store/water-clear-casting-resin-inclusive-catalyst-p-316.html Does dry totally clear like glass, but you really need to be careful when you mix it so as not to introduce air bubbles. Ideally you need to let it set in a pressure pot.
  22. Certainly easy enough to do - just a bit long winded. Saw a post a while back where a chap converted all his rear lights on a Prelude to leds. All he did was to use pcb stripboard cut to shape with lots and lots of surface mounted leds. You could be really cheeky and use tri colour leds instead then you have a panel that can be red, blue or green at the flick of a switch! Illuminating the panel is on my list of things to do but EL panels long enough are silly money over here. I may well have a go at this.
  23. Hi mate What cable modem is it that you have? I can tell you for sure if its capable of 20mb speeds. Also the speed issues you are having - You know Virgin introduced this thing called 'STM' Speed Traffic Management? Basically if you download 3000mb or upload 1200mb between 4pm - 9pm the speed of your 20mb line gets slashed to just 5mb for a period of 4hrs. So if you triggered STM at 8.45pm then you have a 5mb service until 12.45am! It's blatantly obvious why they have done this - to get more people signed up on the network without having to upgrade it. Although they do say it is to stop power downloaders hogging the system from everyone else. Funnily enough though the service I'm now getting has never ever been worse.
  24. The Nissan Mid4. You can certainly see the where ideas were tested for the 300! Scanned it in just now. PDF Here Enjoy ------
  25. Well making progress, £374 to fix the other car - not going through insurance so I keep my no claims. I went down to her house and we had a good look and went to a bodyshop around the corner to get a quote etc. Bumper was un repairable and it had cracked the light cluster. Could have done it myself but you just can't do/suggest that lol. Bumper on mine springs back to shape when unbolted from the wing so i'm gonna leave that till after xmas, and decide weather to go 99 spec or keep and get it sprayed/modded. Got a friends sprayer to sort me out when I get a new wing. pheww... :)
