  1. Sounds like the one Jimmer. I noticed it was missing the rubber edge that goes around the underside of the tailgate too.
  2. Followed behind ya in my zed all the way down to Eastville roundabout. Sounded nice too!
  3. Just been checking it out, got me zed captured at work :) check it out anyone else?
  4. Hey yes it was me :) Yeh I was sure it was your car but I thought eh, it's not murt or yourself behind the wheel lol.
  5. Yeh this situation has been pissing me off for a couple of weeks now. Nowhere in the UK does a kit with these o-rings in. Total lameness tbh. I phoned Bigred and they can't do em, although he did say if I measure the old ones - hmmm let me give you a measurement for a swollen oring ok. Funny though if I send the caliper to them they will put new o-rings in... anyway dude, if I saw this earlier it would have given you a shout. Just ordered 4 calipers worth of seal kits from z1 with these o-rings in ($44 the lot.) They do them on their own for $4 or so. Give Josh a shout on the z1 parts email address and ask him if he can just send them in an envelope via the postal service for cheap! A pic of two o-rings from the halves of one rear caliper. Good job I split them. They are square cross sections but these are dry/brittle with no squidginess! Consequently there was a nice build up of weird hardened crud on the machined seat the o-rings sit in. Scraped away with some acrylic i made into a tool. One thing you got to remember if you get these made by someone is how thick should they be? Too thick and the o-ring may distort as you clamp up the caliper halves tight. Too thin and well they will leak. That's why I went for the z1 stuff as it has been tried and tested.
  6. Hi mate. I'm most likely to purchase this size of disc and bracket next week. If I do I could certainly measure it or even draw it up in cad...
  7. Mental. I just used isoprop alcohol lol. Let it soak in for about 5 mins then it peeled of in small bits. One thing though - let me know if you find some double sided foam tape thats as good as the stuff nissan used!!!
  8. I'm refurbing calipers at the moment. Standard original ones. I'm going to get new discs all round most likely grooved & drilled. The important thing is that i'm going to put larger fronts on with a relocation bracket. So on the website dbpower I see various larger discs BUT also I see larger pads for standard calipers to be used only in conjunction with a larger disc. Makes sense to me as the larger pad will cover the width of the discs contact surface. Now I am stuck with choosing pads. I was going to just get ebc turbo groove discs with the new larger redstuff pads, job done. But I see mixed reviews about redstuff. So below I break down what I have read so far with questions: My car will not be going on the track, just errmm spirited driving! EBC Redstuff. Larger pad size availible. £170 for all corners. Mixed reviews, most old post say they have no cold stopping! Yet new posts refering to the new updated compound say they are fine/great/etc? Comes with shims & no word about squeeling? Ferodo ds2500: Larger pad size availible. Most expensive. BUT I cannot tell if rear pads are available. Apparently very dusty & squeeels. Best performance of all? Comes with own shims? Porterfield: Cost between redstuff and ferodo Excellent performance. Comes with own shims? Can't tell if larger front is available. Hawk: Have not found out much but similar to porterfields? So I am lost at the moment. Which pads!?
  9. Hey Vijay Yeh I too have the solderpro70 from Maplin. I bought some extra tips from rapidonline.com if I remember right. 4mm wide chisel tip was capable of letting me run solder onto the ends of the 4awg power cable, so it clamped nice and solid into a terminal block :O Not even the 240 volt mains gun type soldering iron could do that I was shocked!
  10. Phone up a few places and see if they can order in the old GD eagle (gds3 with the v pattern tread). I got mine via protyre for a much better price than the newer asymmetric eagles.
  11. alxlaw. Nope can't get the orings from nissan. You can't even get a OEM Nissan rear refurb kit now anyway - they stoped making it. Anyhow I got a shipping price from z1 - $50 lol, for a tiny jiffy bag of orings hahaha. Insanity. Now how come Coz at CZP can send me a shoebox size thing of bits for like $25 with USPS...?
  12. Here's a bin liner, pack your belongings you're out tbh.
  13. I'm in agreement with Legrath here. I thought it was a great idea at first so I did it. BUT and the biggest but for me is the software. I paid $314 dollars for 'Centrafuse' car interface system and it is crap. Sure it looks good but it's so buggy. The company release updates which fix one thing yet introduce another issue. For example: sat nav worked fine with Centrafuse v1. Yet with v2 it lags 300yards behind my realtime position. Developers say Centrafuse is not at fault, but it is funny because the only thing in my system that change is Centrafuse! Shit coding if you ask me but hey... If I was to do an incar pc again I would use a small laptop hooked up to the dashboard touchscreen lcd. Create a power supply for it (custom because of the laptop input voltage). Then again another hurdle is rigging it to the ignition for shutdown/startup. Saying that though I won't be doing another car pc again. I would rather now just save myself the hassle and fork out the £900 for a Pioneer double din does everything unit. Instant on/off too which you can never have with the car pc. Not to put you off or anything :)
  14. well i'm waiting for a shipping cost from z1 in the usa on their caliper kits that include the orings. I did see that for about $5 you can buy the split half orings too.
  15. Well i just spoke to them. (http://www.biggred.co.uk dan) They can get rear pistons £16.90 and 4/5 days atm. The seal kits dont include the orings if you split the calipers in half. He said i can measure them though and they can supply it.
  16. hi all couple of quick questions about them, do their seal kits (both front & rear) include replacement orings if you split the calipers in half? I can see they do front caliper pistons but anyone know if they do pistons for the rears? Anyone had their calipers refurbed by them recently? I done a search here and have seen prices saying around £120 to do a pair of rear calipers. Thinking about it thats crazy because if i do it then - 4xpiston say £60 + seal kit £20 + paint £20 =£100 and I still have to do all the work!??? Maybe I should phone them about that I guess.
  17. If you are anything like me (1st time on the road in Germany) you'm be wondering why at every sliproad on the motorways there is a sign for 'Ausfart'. Bloody hell I thought, must be a popular place, and the motorway must connect right around it in a huge circle. It only dawned on me later that it means sodding 'exit' huh.
  18. Does the vibration become apparent at a certain speed? I have a drivers side front wheel that is not concentrically true. Too great to be balanced out, which means I get a vibration between 65-70mph from it. Not good for the wheel bearings i'm sure but hey.
  19. I like to take a timewarp back to the early 90's for spirited driving. I'm thinking; Nookie Sy Kick SL2 Zero B Higher Level Also ACDC are always good!
  20. Passenger side, pull back the wheelarch liner. Theres a Rubber Grommet there which i cut into and siliconed back up one the cable was in. I then took the cable into the cabin just infront the seat like so, then under carpets.
  21. Dear god that dude must be fooked in the head!!!
  22. Pretty close. You know Two Mile Hill at all?
  23. Hey man that was me!!!! I was coming back from visiting at the hospital with a mate, but there were no spaces left in that pub car park. So I shot of to the next pub along lol
  24. To coat over polished wheel dish/lip and leave a durable clear finish without dulling the shine you should use something like Alsa's 'clear 4 chrome'.
