  1. I think there is a mis conception between a power run on a random dyno, vs a mapping session. A power run, on a new setup, would be disastrous as most likely the chip will not be reflective of the modifications. A mapping session, based on a dyno, is the safest and quickest way to break an engine in. Varying loads across the rpm range under safe conditions before doing the power runs. This is far more effective than several 100 miles at constant rpm on motorways. I have taken several new builds straight to the dyno as soon as possible, often with only a handful of miles completed to ensure no leaks.
  2. Most fit both, it's just the different shape of the man vs auto box
  3. if a new loom is too expensive, i can't be that hard to figure which ones are damaged and route a fresh one from coils to ptu. Are any coils firing?
  4. i would say he's referring to Gibsterr?
  5. PowerZed, just over the bridge :)
  6. It'll stop running if you unplug the cas, but give it a wiggle to see if it smooths out. Is it only part throttle when playing up, ie does it sort itself out with full throttle?
  7. me too (not the banner though!)
  8. if it's junk anyway, weld it up and try it! If you don't like it, get a 2way
  9. Did you go for the CZP turbos in the end?
  10. I think they're a bit fussy. Nothing beats a nicely trimmed set of Recaro CS'
  11. Dark Gray, any other colour, even silver will look out of place
  12. ahh, I cheat. I pulled through the excess as I have lots of space under the dash. There's definitely more loom than you'd expect. Can't take any pics, engine at Jimmers, shell at bodymech, loom in a box!
  13. Chose a great day for it!
  14. I would think na rear end on a tt will make launch harder, happy to see your before and after times.... General driving and in gear acceleration the na rear end will make the car more responsive
  15. Tried launching one yet?
  16. I'm with Noel, I think realistically most TT's will be in the 5-6 sec range... The mid range pull then makes it up! I've not seen any accurate results in the 4sec mark, just gmeters etc Look at the Jtuner results from several years ago, that had proper timing, and best result was 5.3.
  17. Ultimate oil cooling setup, converts to temp based cooling using thermostat sandwich plate instead of partial, pressure based stock system. Includes adapter, oil lines and cooler £150 delivered
  18. Increased capacity, baffled and trap doors for maintaining oil pressure on track £250 delivered
  19. Are you widening the very front too to match?
  20. Set of fully ported heads, JWT 500 cams, refreshed lifters, upgraded JWT springs, and titanium retainers for sale.... This is a fully assembled setup ready to go The bad news is that there's some damage to the cam journals on the heads and cams as a result of a bottom end failure. This was from 2 seasons ago. I have had them cleaned up and used them again subsequently without issue, no noises, and no performance issues during dyno tuning and subsequent track work. So, given the damage described, and that a used setup like this should be going for 2k+, I'm looking for offers around the 1k mark. The retainers cost me £600 on their own! If I get no takers then I'll break them for parts, will get most of that for springs and retainers alone :)
  21. having had a B&B in the past ... Pros: great for looks and sound. Cons: drones on the motorway, not the best for performance
  22. without checking, 99% sure it's a VG30DE stock motor ;)
